District Superintendent
Nazarene Bible College of East Africa Report
To Rev. Don Gardener, the FSC Africa East Field and the chair of today's assembly; Rev.
Gerphas Oure, the District Superintendent, pastors, delegates and all guests
I greet you in the gracious name of our Lord and Savior. It is such a joy to be part of today's
celebration. NBCEA is presently in 14 districts in Africa East Field and this district is one of our
most potential district. Thank you for supporting our vision which is "to be transformative
training centers that produces leaders with Christ-like character."
Concerning academic matters, last year we had more than 30 classes taught across the field. Our
database shows that 4 classes were taught in the district by pastor Eliud Kiptarus. I congratulate
Pastor Benson Nguli, the student who took the highest number of classes in the year 2016 and
will be graduating soon. Benson took an extra mile of making several trips to take his classes at
Rongai. I encourage our students to follow the same step. The district has a pool of teachers
including Rev. Ng'ena, Rev. Kisoi, Rev. Mwangangi, Rev. Kuvuna, Rev, Carol Musili, Revs.
Muthama and many more coming up. Please let u appreciate our teachers. I challenge each
teacher to make sure you teach at least 2 classes in the year 2017.
NBCEA classes for the year 2017 started on 16th January with 14 students, that is evening,
regular and online classes. Our goal is to provide a training opportunity for each of our leaders
effectively. Although these classes are being coordinated from the Rongai Center, we are
encouraging students from this district to enroll. I want to challenge each pastor or church to
send atleast one student to NBCEA. I believe the future of each local church in this district will
be determined by the number of leaders trained at NBCEA. The University church of the
Nazarene has sent 6 of their key leaders to our colege, the largest number ever sent to NBCEA
by a single church. These leaders are already making a difference in their local church.
Concerning clergy development, I urge our ministers that have graduated from either NBCEA or
ANU to engage in lifelong learning that is required by our church. This applies to all ministers,
whether ordained or not. We are supposed to invest a minimum of 20 hours every year in
continuous learning. Whenever a learning opportunity is provided, I encourage you to take
advantage of it, may it be seminar, a conference or a regular course.
As we work towards complying with the Kenyan system of education, we are asking all our
students to provide our register's office with their secondary school transcripts so that we can be
able to determine whether they qualify for the diploma in theology program. However,
everybody, including those who nave never stepped in any formal school qualifies for our
certificate program.
NBCEA fees per unit will remain to be Ksh. 550 for the second year according to last year's
BOT meeting. I urge our students to take advantage if this offer before it expires. When the
management team meets within the next three months, it is more likely the fees will go up.
As I conclude, I invite you to support the NBCEA principal's trip to the Global Nazarene
Education Consortium (GNEC) that will take place in June this year. Members of the Alumni
Association are expected to lead in this project. Your prayers and financial support are highly
appreciated.
Be blessed as we continue serving our Master and King of kings. We wish you a happy year
2017
Re. Elijah N. King'ori
(Principal, NBCEA)

i.e. Eastern and Coastal District. The need has been felt since 2009, but the District has

Ksh. 600,000/- so far they have raised Ksh. 54,000/-

AEF SDMI REPORT TO THE DISTRICT ASSEMBLY KENYA EASTERN 18TH
FEBRUARY 2017
The General Superintendent Dr J. Warrick, the Regional director Dr Filimao Chambo, the Chairman of
this assembly Rev Don Gardner, the District Superintendent Rev Augustus Musili all the pastors, the
delegates and visitors to this assembly I greet you in Jesus Name.
In our Manual 812 series it talk about SDMI. The Mission statement for SDMI is to carry out the Great
Commission to children, youth and adults in preparation for a lifetime of making Christ-like disciples in
the nations. Mathew 28: 19-20
SDMI is the heart of the Church I am hoping that every pastor is involved with SDMI in his / her local
church.
The purpose of SDMI is fourfold:
To intentionally develop relationships with the unreached people for the purpose of bringing them
to Christ and disciple them
To teach the word until children, youth and adults are saved, sanctified wholly and maturing in
Christian experience.
To help Christians to grow spiritually by involving them in evangelism, Christian education and
disciple making.
To encourage children, youth and adults to enroll in Sunday school and be faithful attendance.
Last year I gave out the materials to all SDMI Superintend in the active Churches I am hoping the
material was helpful for them. I would be happy to hear the report from the district SDMI.
This will help me know where you are and how I can come to support what you are doing.
There was a plan for the women conference is it still in the pipeline or it died. If it is still in the pipeline
can we come up with the dates and venue so that we can plan for the speakers?
I know this district is doing great things so keep up and let us know what you are doing in your district.
Respectively submitted,
Rev Elizabeth Musimbi,
AEF SDMI Coordinator
“Intentionally making Christ like disciples in all the Nation” Mathew 28:19-20
