About NZUAGThe NZ Utlites Advisory Group (Inc) (NZUAG) is a joint consultatve group of network utlity service

providers (water and wastewater, telecommunicatons, electricity and gas), corridor managers for

road and rail, and industry bodies. It was formed in late 2001 to look at issues relatng to utlites’

actvites (initally) in the road corridor, and to provide a forum for interface between the partes. It

became an incorporated society in December 2011.

NZUAG is the guardian of the Code of Practce for Utlity perators’ Access to Transport Corridors.

The Code is a legislated requirement under the Utlites Access Act 2010. The Code applies to the

actvites of all transport corridor managers and utlity operators throughout New Zealand. The Code

recognises that the ability of utlites to get in and out of the corridor as efciently as possible to

install, maintain and upgrade network infrastructure is critcal to New Zealand's economy and

community quality of life.

An updated version of the Code, incorporatng minor amendments, came into efect on 16

September 2016, and can be located at www.nzuag.org.nz/natonallcode
