Dear Supporter,

The 2017-2018 school year brought about these noteworthy highlights:

• Wishing a happy retirement to Founding Principal Jeanne Goka after 10 years at the • Ann Richards School and a 40-year career in education;

• Welcoming Principal Kris Waugh, whose passion for designing and implementing creative • • programming is leading the Ann Richards School into our second decade of excellence;

• Supporting a successful Austin ISD bond initiative that includes the modernization of our • • • facility into a state-of-the-art, 21st century learning space; and

• Achieving 100% graduation from high school, 100% acceptance to four-year colleges and • universities, and $14.4 million in merit-based scholarships for the Class of 2018.

The Ann Richards School Foundation made possible STEM curriculum, college visits and advising, educational field trips, teacher professional development and alumnae support.

With your help, our students experienced a superb learning environment characterized by innovative practices, a meaningful curriculum and constant motivation.

Thank you for investing in our young women – the majority from economically disadvantaged backgrounds – and enabling them to gain the skills and confidence necessary to pursue college educations and careers.

Our students’ academic successes, college dreams and bright futures are the driving force behind all that we do, and we are grateful for your support.

To their futures,

Jennifer Long, Executive DirectorAnn Richards School Foundation

Letter from the Executive Director
