There are many challenges in this emerging situation, imparting & grasping knowledge has become quite dynamic and challenging, we have to be ready and equipped with the required abilities and capacities to conquer these newer fields of knowledge and master newer techniques and skills. Achieving these goals will require a tremendous team effort, but can become near reality, if we encourage & foster Alumni Participation, involvement, and commitment. PROUD TO BE AN AMITIAN

When people say that whatever happens happens for a reason, they are absolutely right and I am a firm believer of this fact. I started my journey at AITEM, Amity University in the year 2009 and this start marked a beginning of a journey which I had never dreamt of. A girl who had always been within the four walls of army cantt. and never saw the real world, was now at a stage where she felt like a small fish in an ocean. But little did I know that this ocean was the platform to emerge into the bigger picture.

Amity Institute of Telecom Engineering and Management has been more than just an educational institution. It is a place which provides students an opportunity to think big and new. AITEM can be rightly placed as an institution which broadens your vision and helps create a new and better perspective about life which in turn helps one become ambitious and emerge as confident decision makers in the dynamic industry and society as a whole.

AITEM has helped me to mold myself according to the needs of the industry and moreover has enabled a kickstart to my list of achievements both within Amity and outside.

The opportunities which I received were immense that helped me to discover the dormant side of my personality and helped build on my strengths. Under the valuable guidance of the eminent faculty members of AITEM, I have been able to publ ish a research paper on“Comparative Study of Feeding Mechanism Used In Micro-strip Patch Antenna" in the International Journal of Emerging Technologies in Computational and Applied Sciences (IJETCAS). At AITEM, I was recognized for my speaking abilities and was given an opportunity to anchor various telecom events. I had the opportunity to build on my skills and finally emerge as the official anchor for all events at AITEM and also for Amity University. I also led the sponsorship committee for fund raising events at university level and served as core committee member for launching and execution of the Amity Youth Fest. My inclination towards events witnessed a huge support from all the faculties and this gave me the opportunity to explore my interest and learn much more than the textual knowledge. I actively participated in sports activities throughout my tenure at Amity University and was selected as the Sports Captain of AITEM for year 2012-13. As the captain, I was successful in securing accolades in Air rifle shooting, Squash & Kabbadi. All of these achievements gave me an opportunity to be nominated for the esteemed Ritnand Balved Education Foundation award.

Today, I proudly announce to the world at large that I have been a proud Amitian and owe all my successes to Amity. Post my tenure at Amity, I got placed on campus at HCL. However, I chose to continue my education and went to London, UK for an MBA – International Business at University of Greenwich. It was surprising and rather a proud moment to learn that people recognize Amity University not just in India but abroad as well.

For the past 3 years, I have been working as Manager, Operations at The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) Delhi-NCR, a global organization to foster entrepreneurship and working closely with startups, senior entrepreneurs, policy makers, investors, educational Institutions (Including Amity University), embassies and Government officials. I have been able to carve out a career for myself as a freelance Anchor as well and have successful hosted numerous events for Government and private sector organization. I have had the opportunity to come back to Amity as speaker for events.

Joining AITEM, Amity University has been one of the best decisions of my life and I am proud to call myself an Amitian. And as our founder president Mr. Ashok K Chauhan always says, once an Amitian always an Amitian.

Speaking of Amity, the first thought which comes to everyone’s mind is “it’s a university only with name and fame but there is no studies, no future. Only rich kids go there for studies”. But please don’t be stereotyped. Come to AITEM and experience what study is at Amity. A strict time table, good teachers, one-on-

one attention by teachers, lot of opportunities, and a lot are waiting for you at AITEM. As students, you are given opportunities to organize various events, which help you build and enhance your leadership skills and time management skills at the same time. Believe me, faculty at the AITEM is among the best ones in whole Amity University. Environment at AITEM is superb and cool. At the same time, CGPA system might heat it up a bit. Also, having back to back final exams also might tense you up a bit but at the same time helps you in dealing with pressure and stress. It allows you to become a better person and more importantly a better corporate personnel.

Amity gives you a lot of opportunities, be it academics, extra-curricular, placements, internship, etc. It helps you explore the real potential in you. Their scholarship award system will always motivate you to work more hard and hard.

I pursued my MBA in Telecom Management and Marketing from AITTM in 2010- 12 and those two years were certainly one of the best days of my life. T h e c o u r s e h e l p e d m e understand the technical and managerial aspects attached to the technology and the telecommunication space. Throughout the years, I got a

chance to be part of a respected brand guided by distinguished faculty members and got exposed to a number of events apart from studies including organizing placements in collaboration with the training and placement cells, hosting industry conferences, seminars, guest lectures and cultural events. Five years down the line, I feel that those experiences have definitely helped me develop as a professional and had helped me gain insights on the industry. My journey at Amity was enriching where I learnt a lot from my teachers. They taught us the importance of both hard work and smart work to obtain desired results. Especially, I would like to thank Dr. Ajay Rana Sir and Anjani Bhatnagar Sir for their continuous efforts and guidance in making Amity such a wonderful place for us. My association with my Gurus and their guidance still helps me in taking professional/personal decisions.

In short Amity is a place full of opportunities and is the perfect platform to take-off your professional journey.

Four years, and it seems like just yesterday, when I entered Amity with all the expectations in my head. It will be unfair if I say these hopes and dreams were not fulfilled.

Academically, faculties take you through the curriculum in the most effective way. They don’t spoon feed but they never abandon a student either. Every step of my way, I was mentored with immense involvement and the experience they carried along.

However, what I truly cherish and what college has really given me, is an identity. A self-aware self. It brought me to a stand in four years to realize what I truly believe in, what I truly work for and where I truly see myself. Beyond all the challenges and hardships, I could stand strong for my faith, my belief, and my goal.

There is so much to recall and feel nostalgic about. My HOI, Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Rana, has been a pillar of strength, and continues to be so even after the college is long over. He guided me like a mentor, guru and like a father figure. Be it my research, my anchoring stints, my internships, there isn’t one thing that I don’t owe to him. He gave me the chance to write for Italian Trade Embassy and what more could I have asked for. I was awarded a two weeks trip to Italy for that paper. Representing your nation at the global platform truly makes you believe that you are meant to achieve better and bigger things in life and this, yet again, I owe to Rana sir.

Then came the changing point of my life. The scholarship I received from Prudential Foundation and a semester long internship in Washington DC. Sitting miles away from home and college, I can’t thank my HOD, Prof. (Dr.) Vinod Shokeen and Rana Sir enough for the kind of faith they instilled in me and the kind of support they extended. I could fall back on them where I was in self-doubt or was vary of how things were

rolling out. But nothing but the best they could do, was their response. It will only be fair to say I wouldn’t have been able to achieve so much had I not been pushed by these amazing mentors in my life.

Beyond this, when I look back at my memories in college, I can’t forget my anchoring evenings in AYF, my parade lead in Sangathan, sleepless nights coordinating the placements, playing cricket with the team and Farhat sir, my never ending hostel nights, last minute studies for exams, pleading my lovely teachers for attendance and getting a wonderful time with my classmates. I wish I could relive all of this again!

Closing, I would just say, Amity has given me all that I hoped for. A successful career to pursue, a confidence that is never fading away and a bag full of memories to cherish. I hope I keep coming back and keep contributing to my alma mater whichever way possible.

Once and Amitian Always an Amitian

From an Amitian named Raunak Singh. It is still all seems like a dream starting from the very first day of the orientation to the very last for us as a student which was the convocation.

I got the golden opportunity to be a part of the B.Tech program offered by Amity and I say it with a lot of pride and a lot of proofs that it is the best decision that I made for myself.

Amity apart from being a big brand name is a world within and it has so much to offer that almost none of the Universities in India offer.

To begin with the first year, it seems like a hectic schedule to every student but we only realize it by the end of the year that this hectic schedule is the reason we learn to work hard, manage our time and multi task while learning new chapters of Life and Engineering.

By the end of second and the third year we grew, from school going students to college going leaders.

From PCM subject learners to practical concepts and management believers and within a blink of an eye we were on the doorstep of the final year.

Final year was like a big result of whatever we have learnt and absorbed in the past 3 years and believe me, it was way over any expectation that one could have.

Our HOD (Dr. Vinod Shokeen) were really like an umbrella to us which saved us from all the trouble rains and kept us safe through the glowing afternoons and taught and nurtured us throughout our 4 years.

In the four years that I was away from my home, I never really felt that I was, It was because of the expert guidance and homely environment provided by our mentors, faculties and almost everyone from the Amity and also by the family out of family which we call friends, who are our project partners room partners, fun partners, life partners and to an extent crime partners as

3 years ago the decision of taking admission in Amity University is cherished now. Being am Amitian in a crowd of hundred is a badge of pride on shoulder. Choosing the career in forensics was undoubtedly a good decision. Starting journey as a total amateur and completing with professionalism.

To be honest the kind of faculty support we get here in Amity Institute of Forensic Science can never be seen in any other institute. AIFS is a perfect blend of love, care, education, discipline, professional learning.

When today girls are lacking behind because of male domination in other institutions there the girls in amity are flying high with a total support from colleagues as well as administration.

I shall be failing in my duty if do not mention about the protective environment inside the campus. The facilities in the campus, the health and hygienic environment. I shall be lifelong cherishing these3 years spent in Amity University as it made me confident, independent and a mature personality.

I am thankful to Amity University, Noida for giving me a platform to continue my research work during my M. Tech (2013-2015, VLSI). I have also completed my summer internship at IIT Delhi as a research fellow in 2014, and completed my M. Tech dissertation in the Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata in 2015. My M. Tech dissertation was filed as a patent on 5th June, 2015 and won the IEEE Innovation Award, and was among the 12 finalists from across India for my patent from IEEE, Kolkata Section. I have also been nominated for the Engineering Excellence Award from IEEE. Furthermore, I have got admission into the PhD programme in Stanford University and will be joining it in July 2016 in the Department of Electrical Engineering.

My two years at Amity University doing an M.Sc in Applied Physics was a fantastic experience. Amity has shaped me in more ways than one. I was a 100% scholarship holder and gold medallist, and I was selected for the Indian Navy during the 8th semester as a part of the University Entry Scheme. Today I am a Lieutenant Commander in the Indian Navy, and as a logistics officer my primary role is to ensure smooth supply to the ships and submarines to ensure their operational capabilities. I have led the Indian Navy Contingent during the Republic Day Parade 2014 and the Naari Shakti All Women Naval Contingent in the year 2015 on Rajpath. As a Sub-Lieutenant, I was the youngest officer to be a part of Beating Retreat and hoisted the flag at Vijay Chowk in 2013. I also led the International City Parade during International Fleet Review 2016 which was held at Visakhapatnam where many other countries had participated. I really value my time in Amity University.

Not only did I have a lot of fun

gained more insights and

had about our designs, I

When I had joined AINT, it was

just the second batch of

M.Tech in Nanotechnology. At

that time I was not very sure

about it as Amity was the only

University in the country

offering that particular course.

Today, I feel great pride that I

took that important decision

to join AINT. Today, I am

exploring the cutting edge in

my field, and am studying

about how I can have less

impact on our environment

and also save on energy bills,

by reducing power

consumption through the use

of energy efficient

technologies. I am in fact,

working on GaN, and trying to

develop technologies like LEDs

and Power semiconductors for

paving the way for a revolution

in energy efficiency.

Having done my Masters in Engineering in Nanotechnology from Amity University, I followed it up with a second Masters in Engineering in Materials Engineering from Monash University, Australia. Having researched extensively in third generation photovoltaics, I have designed a novel architecture of Dye Sensitized Solar Cell Modules with high fill ratios and developed smart electrolytes. I am currently working with the TATA Group, as a part of the R&D Division handling Solar Cell Technology and developing and implementing innovative process techniques in solar cell manufacturing.
