CLUB HISTORY

Since the beginning of our Year Book, we have been bringing to you our Division’s history. The first few years were a little inaccurate, but we can now keep can accurate record of our Club’s yearly progress. Following is a brief summary of our history:

1. Prior 1964 1.1 RSL organize cricket for children of members -probably 1962-63 season. 1.2 RSL considers formalizing Youth Club.

2. 1964 2.1 Soccer division first official unit of Ingleburn RSL Youth Club. 2.2 Total registrations - 67. 2.3 Home ground - Ingleburn High School (1964-1967). 2.4 Drama --‐ first game, referee rules combination soccer/league posts not acceptable. New “legal” posts arrive and erected. 2.5 More dramas --‐ shirts (with numbers on them) arrive just in time for match.

3. 1966 3.1 Under 7 side (coached by Mrs Peck) wins S.D.S.F.A. Knock-out comp and Premiership. Scored 70 odd goals for a handful against.

4. 1967 4.1 Club outgrows Ingleburn High School ground. Council approved Macquarie Fields Park with two narrow pitches but promises to upgrade ground for two “full size” pitches and lighting for training.

5. 1968 5.1 First All Age team formed. Mainly dads, coaches and managers of juniors.

6. 1970 6.1 Approximately 20 teams (approximately 270 players).

7. Dates Uncertain 7.1 Foundation member, Les Schaeffer, passes away and his memory perpetuated by “Schaeffer Shield” Trophy presented to Club Champions. 7.2 Groups of players from North Ingleburn and Catherine Fields join club. 7.3 Ladies team formed by Manager Tom Petrov and Coach Jim Selby who later took over the NSW and Australian teams.

8. 1976 8.1 Twenty-one teams.

9. 1977 9.1 Breakaway takes place. Glenquarie formed by former Ingleburn members. Ingleburn fields eleven teams.

10. 1978 10.1 Fourteen teams.

11. 1979 11.1 Nineteen teams.

12. 1980 12.1 Twenty three teams (juniors). 12.2 Club renamed “Ingleburn Eagles Soccer Club”. 12.3 Club produces its own magazine, Eagles news, also produces its own car stickers, T--‐shirts and badges. 12.4 First Eagles vs Gunners Charity Shield held to raise money for local charity. Glenfield Park School chosen. Gunners win by one game. 12.5 Two teams win Premiership for 1980 --‐ U11/5 and U13/4. 12.6 Two men’s All Age teams formed. 12.7 Club obtains use of adjacent park ground for training. Council provides temporary lighting.

13.1981 13.1 Twenty three teams (317 boys registered). 13.2 Under 6, six a side competition started within own club. 8 teams formed. All team names bearing Australian animal names. 13.3 Two men’s All Age teams. 13.4 One Ladies team formed. Lady Eagles coached by Bob Brunger go on to win the competition and become Premiers. 13.5 Second Eagles vs Gunners Charity Shield Day. Eagles win by one game. 13.6 Nine teams reach the semi--‐finals. 13.7 Two in finals.

14. 1982 14.1 17 juniors, 2 All Age Ladies teams, 3 All Age men’s teams. 14.2 U15 and All Age 4, Lady Eagles Minor Premiers. 14.3 7 junior teams, All Age 4 and Lady Eagles reach semi-finals. 14.4 Four teams finalists. 14.5 All Age 4 and Lady Eagles Grand Finalists.

15. 1983 15.1 Macarthur District Soccer Football Association formed. 15.2 Introduction of mini-sides U/6 and U/7 playing 6 a side and on small fields. 15.3 280 registered boys. 15.4 9 teams finish in the top 2 of their respective comps. 8 of those making it through, to the Association Cup Final, U8/4, U10/3 and U11/3 taking the Double, ie: winning the Premiership and Association Cup.

16. 1984 16.1 363 junior players registered (increase of 29.6% on last year). 21 team’s largest club in Macarthur district. 16.2 Club records placed on computer for first time. 16.3 16 juniors and 1senior team qualified for the Association Cup, two teams winning the respective comps. 16.4 U12/2 wins Premiership and Association Cup. 16.5 Early re‐registering for the forthcoming season.

17. 1985 17.1 35 teams comprising well over 400 registrations. 17.2 16 junior and 1senior team qualified for Association Cup. 17.3 U11/2 winning Premiership and Association Cup. 17.4 U9/1 winning Association Cup. 17.5 U18’s Minor Premiers in Bankstown District.

18. 1986 18.1 38 teams comprising well over 400 registrations. 18.2 14 teams into Association Cup. 18.3 U9/2 winning Premiership, Association Cup and Club Champions. 18.4 5 win Association Cup, 3 were Runners Up 18.5 U14 and U18 both reach semi finals in State Cup.

19. 1987 19.1 38 teams comprising of 360 players. 19.2 U11/1 were Champion of Champions. 19.3 8 teams reached the Ron Dine Memorial Cup. 19.4 2 teams won the Ron Dine, and 1 runner Up.

20. 1988 20.1 33 teams comprising of 360 players. 20.2 U14/1 and U15/1 were Premiers. 20.3 U9/1, U9/2 and U10/1 were Runners Up in Premiership. 20.4 11 teams reached the Ron Dine Memorial Cup. 20.5 3 teams won Ron Dine Memorial Cup‐ U11/1, U14/1 and U15/1. 20.6 3 teams were Runners Up in Ron Dine ‐ U9/1, U9/2 and U10/1.

21. 1989 21.1 33 teams. 21.2 U14/1 were Champion of Champions. The team consisted of: Matthew Bremner, Andy Bruna, Felipe Contardo, Damien King, Matthew Meurant, Ryan Moon, Matthew Palmer, Thomas Pollock, David Watson, James Wotton, Nathan Wyatt and Trent Thompson. Coach: Lindsay Moon. Manager: Dave Bremner. 21.3 Ron Dine Cup Winners: U9/1 and U15/1A. 21.4 Premiers U14/1 and U15/1A. 21.5 Runners Up Ron Dine Cup U10/1 and U10/3.

22. 1990 22.1 36 teams comprising of 377 players, this included 2 All Age teams. 22.2 3 teams entered into Champion of Champions. They were: U13/1 who made the ¼ finals, U14/1 who made the semi finals, U15/1 who made the second round and lost to the eventual winners. 22.3 Ron Dine Cup winners were: U9/4, U12/3 and U14/1. 22.4 Premiers were: U13/1, U14/1 and U15/1. Runners Up were: U9/4.

23. 1991 23.1 37 teams comprising of 424 players, this included: 17 minis, 17 juniors, 2 All Age men and 1 newly formed All Age Ladies. 23.2 Only one Premier team that being All Age Div 4. 23.3 5 teams finished Runners Up: U9/1, U9/2, U11/4, U14/1 and All Age 3. 23.4 Ron Dine Cup winners were: U14/2 and All Age 3. 23.5 Inaugural Kanga Cup was held in July and we had 3 teams entered U12/2, U13/1 and U14/1. Our club received a letter from the organizers congratulating our teams on their conduct and sportsmanship. Our club is very proud of them. 23.6 Club Champions: All Age Division 4

24. 1992 24.1 10% increase on number from last year 460 members. 24.2 Soccer division wins the Arthur Ashcroft Shield, presented at Y.C. Ball 24.3 Best recorded year for Premiership teams 5 in all they were: U9/3, U12/2, U13/2--‐Grey, U14/1 and All Age 3.

24.4 1 Runners Up U13/2Maroon. 24.5 17 teams made Ron Dine Cup with 4 eventual winners: U9/3, U11/2, U13/2--‐Grey and U14/1. 24.6 Inaugural Lynwood Cup (5th to 8th position in comp). 5 teams played with 2 eventual winners: U12/1 and U17/2. 24.7 5 teams entered Kanga Cup: U12/1, U13/2Maroon, U14/1, U15/1 and U17/1 once again these teams made their club proud. 24.8 Club Champions: Under 13 Division 2 Grey

25. 1993 25.1 46 teams (520 registrations) a 15% increase. 25.2 First year our club entered an Over 35 teams. 25.3 5 Premier teams: U9/1, U10/4, U15/1A, U16/1 and yes the old guys did it Over 35’s. 25.4 3 Runners--‐up teams: U11/2, U12/2 and U18/1A. 25.5 11 teams to Ron Dine with 5 eventual winners: U10/4, U12/2, U14/1A, U16/1 and Over 35’s. 25.6 10 teams to Lynwood Cup with 5 eventual winners: U11/1, U11/3A, U14/1B, U15/1B and U18/1B. 25.7 Club Champions: Under 15 Division 1A

26.1994 26.1 52 teams (comprising of 630 players) 19% increase. 26.2 3 Premier teams: U10/1, U15/1 and Over 35/1. Runners Up U9/1. 26.3 14 teams made Ron Dine Cup - 2 winners: U10/4 and U14/2. U9/1 and U9/4 were Runners Up. 26.4 11 made Lynwood Cup and 11 made the finals. 4 were winners: U9/2, U11/1, U12/2 and U16/1-A. 3 Runners Up: U9/5, U16/1B and All Age Reserves. 26.5 All 52 teams wear our “new look” playing shirts and socks. 26.6 Club Champions: Under 15 Division 1

27. 1995 27.1 Largest the club has ever been- 54 teams consisting of approx 660 members. 27.2 U10/1 were Premiers. Runners--‐up were: U10/4, U11/1, U12/1, All Age 2, Over 35/1 and Over 35/2. 27.3 Ron Dine winners: U10/1 and All Age 4.Runners Up: U11/1, U12/1, U12/2 and All Age 1. 27.4 Lynwood Cup winners: U9/5, U10/5, U12/3 and U13/1. Runners Up: U9/2 and U9/3. Club Champions: Under 10 Division 1

28. 1996 28.1 46 teams, 18 minis, 20 juniors and 8 seniors. 28.2 New Under 8 field in use. (Teams training away from fields, to preserve them for the season). 28.3 4 Premier teams: U11/1, U12/3, U14/1 and All Age 1. 4 Runners Up: U9/2, U11/2, U12/1 and All Age 4. 28.4 12 teams through to Ron Dine Cup eventual winners: U11/1 and All Age 1. 28.5 13 teams into Lynwood Cup eventual winners: U9/3, U10/4 and All Age2. 28.6 2 teams go to Kanga Cup, U14/1 making the semi finals, and the U11/1 victors winning the Kanga Cup. Our congratulations to both teams, but especially to the U11/1’s, you did everyone proud. 28.7 Champion of Champions: U14/1 were knocked out in the second round and the U11/1 team made the semi finals. 28.8 New look jackets, updated material and modifications to design, they certainly look smart. 28.9 Club Champions Under 11 Division 1.

29. 1997 29.1 47 teams, 16 minis, 23 juniors and 8 seniors. 29.2 Two undefeated Premiers’ U12/1 and Over 35/1. Runners Up: U9/1, U11/2, U13/1, U14/2 and All Age 2. 29.3 15 teams into Ron Dine Cup eventual winners: U11/2, U12/1, U12/3, U14/2, U15/1, U17/1,All Age 2 and Over 35/1.

29.4 15 teams into Lynwood Cup eventual winners: U9/3, U9/4, U12/2, U13/4 and All Age 4. 29.5 Youth Club Awards: Noel Howard awarded to Jonathan Hart. Mark Kennedy awarded to Jackie O’Neill. 29.6 At long last new canteen. Appreciated by all. 29.7 Club Champions: Under 12 Division 1, this was the third year for this team a unique achievement. U12/1 consisted of the following players: John Barry, Daniel Burge, Brendan Cashel, Hugo Coronel, Ian Glen, Daniel Goodhew, Christian Hanna, Bradley Krilich, David Lunn, Andrew Martin, Aidan Matthews, Craig McKeown, Scott Miranda, Matthew Nicholson, Jonas Periers. Coach: Dennis Krilich Manager: Adam Burge. (Special mention to Rod Matthews who coached this team in U9’s, U10’s and U/11’s).

30. 1998 30.1 Fielded 51 teams consisting of 636 players. 30.2 6 Premiers teams all up. 3 Undefeated Premier teams: U13/2, U17/1 and O’35/2, plus 3 Premier teams: U10/5, U14/1 and U16/1. Runners Up were: U9/1 and O’35/2. 30.3 Champion of Champions, U16/1 knocked out in 3rd round and U14/1 knocked out in the semi finals. 30.4 17 teams through to Ron Dine, eventual winners: U13/2, U14/1 and U17/1. 30.5 17 teams through to Lynwood Cup eventual winners: U9/2, U9/4, U9/5--‐A U10/4, U14/3 and U16/1--‐Girls. 30.6 First all girls team to compete in Under 16 Div 1 they were: Marian Agbinya, Alex Bettison, Carmen Farrell, Jan Giffen, Bernadette Jenkins, Nicole Jenkins, Renee Kanis, Kristy Moxon, Sonia Purkis, Danielle Reynolds, Hayley Ridgeway, Kristina Risteska, Lara Smith, Michelle Smith, Marisa Wakeford, Coach: David Coates. Manager: Beverley Ricketts. 30.7 U10/1 won the Sportscene Cup. 30.8 Youth Club Awards: Noel Howard to Michael Verity, Mark Kennedy to Beverley Ricketts. 30.9 Club Champions: Under 13Division2.

31. 1999 31.1 Fielded 48 teams, consisting of 603 players, this included mini’s, juniors and seniors. 31.2 3 teams won their Premierships: U15/1, U15/2A and U16/1. 31.3 U15/1 and U16/1 progressed to the Champion of Champions. U16/1 made it to the 3rd round And U15/1 made the semi--‐finals. Congratulations to both teams on such a great effort in a demanding comp. 31.4 16 teams in to the Ron Dine Cup eventual winners: U15/1, U16/1 and A/A5. 31.5 15 teams into the Lynwood Cup eventual winners: U/14Girls and A/A3. 31.6 Introductions of our first Under 14 girls side: Marian Agbinya, Samantha Dunn, Tamara Evans, Megan Gosche, Elise Irvine, Bethany Maggs, Cheree McGlinn, Natasha Powell, Sharna Powell, Candyce Ramsden, Danielle Reynolds, Chloe Richards, Simone Ridgeway, Tara Swiney. Coach: Russell Irvine Manager: Peter McGlinn. 31.7 Club Champions: Under 15 Division 1.

32. 2000 32.1 46 teams consisting of 11 minis, 22 juniors, 10 seniors, 2 girls and 1 Ladies. 32.2 Our most successful season in the clubs history, with 7 Premier teams, 2 of these being undefeated. Undefeated Premiers: U11/2 and U12/1. Premiers: U11/3, U13/2, U14/3, U17/1 and All Age 4. Runners Up: U9/1, U13/4, U16/1, U14girls and U16girls. 32.3 U12/1 and U17/1 progressed to the Champion of Champions competition. 32.4 Congratulations goes to our first girl in the clubs history to receive a Ten Year award, this was awarded to Bernadette Jenkins. 32.5 Club Champions: Under 12 Division 1

33. 2001 33.1 44 teams consisting of 11 minis, 2 Ladies, 1 girls, 10 seniors, 20 juniors. 33.2 2 Undefeated Premiers All Age Div 4, Under 13 Div 1, 33.3 2 Premiers Under 16 Girls, All Age Div 5b

33.4 Runners up were: Under 12 Div 1A, All Age Ladies Div 2A 33.5 U13/1 won Federation Association Cup, U16 Girls enjoyed their experience 33.6 Youth Club Awards: Noel Howards: Tracey Hodgson 33.7 Life Member: Alan Hart 33.8 Robert Hodgson first player to have completed 20 consecutive years congratulations on a mammoth achievement 33.9 Club Champions: Under 13 Division 1

34. 2002 34.1 44 teams consisting of, 13 minis, 2 Ladies, 1 girls, 19 juniors, 9 seniors, 4 Premier teams, U11/5, U12/3, U13/2, U16/2 34.2 Runners Up: U10/6, U13/1, All Age Div 7, All Age Ladies Div 2 34.3 31 teams into Ron Dine/Lynwood Cup. With eventual winners for Ron Dine being 11/5, 13/2, Lynwood: 9/5, 14/3, 15/1, 18/1, 34.4 This year we had 2 players attain 20 years with the club Michael Conte and Daniel Prince, congratulations to these young men 34.6 Club Champions: Under 11 Division 5

37. 2005 37.1 32 teams consisting of: 9 Mini’s, 15 Junior’s, 1 under 17, 5 Senior’s, 1 Ladies, 1 Over 35’s. 37.2 2 Premier teams: U11/2 and U16/1 37.3 1 Runner Up Team: All Age Division 2 37.4 Ron Dine Cup Winners: U11/2 37.5 Major Awards: 6 Ten Year, 4 Fifteen Year. Congratulations to all award winners, especially to Bernadette Jenkins our first girl to achieve 15 years. 37.6 Youth Club Awards: Life Membership – Mr Rob Laws. 37.7 New Playing strip and also new club shirts, we are moving with the times, both look great. 37.8 Club Champions: Under 11 Division 2.

EXECUTIVE REPORT 2016

Our seasons to be slipping by in rapid succession, or maybe it is the older we get the quicker they go.

We had a total of 39 Teams this year a growth from last year, across all age groups as well as the Seniors.

I would like to make a special thank you to the members of the Executive Committee members for their support, help

and advice, throughout 2016. Running a Football club is not just turning up on the weekend, opening the canteen,

ensuring the grounds are ready to play, but a year round commitment, with decisions having to be made for the

upcoming season.

I would like to thank all the Coaches, Managers and parents who without them we would not be the successful club we

are.

Disappointing was the lack of attendance to our Monthly Meetings. They are held to discuss any issues you may have,

and to attain information to pass onto your team. Although there is a committee that runs the club we would love the

input from all involved.

The season started off early in February with 3 Senior Teams (AA4, AA6 and AA9) competing in the Augural Champions

League and as a bonus the games on the newly laid synthetic pitch at Macarthur. All teams played extremely well,

however it was our M League who through default played hard to come in 3rd position.

It is apparent that all Mini, Junior and Senior Teams enjoyed their seasons, however at the end of grading the Juniors,

we know that some people were not happy, but you have to realise that all players cannot make the team they want to

be in. The club looks at all divisions and we know that without various levels we as a club cannot function. Just

remember whatever division you play in you are an important member of INGLEBURN EAGLES.

This year we introduced group coaching for our U6, U7, U8 and U9 Mini teams which was run by Warren Cole assisted by

Ian Palmer. This was a great success and helped to introduce our new mini coaches to the game of football. This

programme seemed to run very smoothly for all involved.

INGLEBURN EAGLES HISTORY OF AWARDS

BRENDON O’ROURKE AWARD This award goes to the most improved team in the club. The basis on which it shall be awarded is the difference between competition points reached at the end of the first round subtracted from total competition points attained for the season, but adjusted between teams who played unequal number of games. If more than one team shall be equal on this basis, then the trophy shall be awarded according to the method used to determine club champions. This trophy shall not be awarded to the club champion team.

TOM FUREY MEMORIAL AWARD

This award shall go to the team with the best scoring average in their respective competitions, according to the method used to decide club champions, providing they are not Brendan O'Rourke winners or Club Champions

MARK BEKS ENCOURAGEMENT AWARD

In 2010 the Committee introduced this encouragement award selected by the executive for a junior team. The award is to honour the contribution of Mark Beks (who sadly passed away prior to the commencement of the 2010 season) to our club as a coach, parent and supporter. Mark was a very successful coach of AA5 in both 2008 and 2009 and his team went through in 2010 undefeated to win both the Minor Premiership, Premiership and Senior Club Champions.

PRESIDENTS AWARDS – CLUB PERSON OF THE YEAR

Presidents Award decided by the President and the Club Secretary is awarded to the Club Person of the Year based on the following criteria, actively involved in Ground Duties (Set Up/Canteen duty etc) when their team is on duty, attends meetings, goes above and beyond their role in the club as a committee person, coach, manager, player etc.

MARK KENNEDY AWARD - MINI TROPHY Mark was an integral part of starting our minis off, and was very prominent in the early days of the soccer club. Mark held many positions with the soccer division, he also went on to become involved in the youth club.

DAVID LAUKAITIS - SENIOR TROPHY

David was a player who had been with the soccer division for many years. One who always showed true sportsmanship and generally loved the game of soccer. He was always willing to lend a hand and help out with younger teams. It was a sad loss to many people when David passed away so young due to a workplace accident. Hence many senior players wanted to honour his memory so his parents were approached and that is how the senior trophies came into being. Due to his involvement in Premier League and his fairness to the game the two trophies came into being.

STAN SHEPHERD COACHES AWARD

In 2009 long serving coach for our club for nearly 20 years, Mr Stan Shepherd, initiated this award at one of our meetings and as such the Club Coaches Award will be now known as the Stan Shepherd Coaches Award. We know that each team has different challenges through the season, some will become Minor Premiers and Grand Final winners others will struggle at the other end of the table, the award is not just based purely on success. The award is intended to go to the coach who reflects the spirit of the Eagles as a family club.

GARY SMITH MANAGERS AWARD This award was introduced in 2016 by Phil McKneight. Gary Smith is a long serving coach/manager for our club for over

20 years, and as such the Club Manager Award will be now known as the Gary Smith Managers Award.

Gary coached his son’s team in the early ‘90’s and as time went on, he hung his coaching role up to become a manager

2016 was a wonderful season for our players. This was the first year of football for our little ones. As the year

A big thank you to Mr & Mrs Suarez for filling in the coaching and managerial duties in my absence. Special thanks to all

the parents, grandparents, siblings and extended family members for coming along to support our players and for the

high fives at the end of the matches.

It has been a pleasure coaching and I hope you all had fun.

Zion – A pocket rocket with great enthusiasm. You have the determination to take you a long way. Some great tackles

Ethan – A steady player who enjoys playing full back. Some great tackles and goals. Gave the hardest high fives to warm

the coach’s hands.

It’s hard to pick a most improved player for U6 white, if not impossible. All the boys have greatly increased their skill level over the season. Game 1 was a frenzy of feet and enthusiasm, but we were still to learn in which direction to kick the ball! By the last game we were aiming at goal and gained confidence to tackle the opposition. Capacity and endurance on the field was an obvious point of growth this season, especially for Jackson and Michael. Everyone improved their ball skills and it was good to see Micah and Rayeed use it to full advantage. Brendan and Ethan both gained a strong kick and used it both to sweep and score goals. What a great year! We started off being put into a team, which the majority of us already had known each other

through daycare, the boys soon made Jez and Matty well and truly part of the gang. The majority of them had

never played soccer with each other before. We came up against Appin United in the first game and they were

very excited. And that showed by how well they played. The score is not kept in U6's however, the boys sure

knew what the score was, who had scored and how many the team had scored!

Jeremy had a great season scoring goals and setting up plenty. A well trained little player.

Mark scoring from pretty much halfway was one of my highlights for the year. He was very proud as were all the

parents.

Mason is so competitive and passionate, even at 6, that he would tear up when they conceded a goal.

Matthew always had the knack for knowing when it was his turn to kick the ball in. He got more into the game with

every week that passed.

Blake in his second season just kept improving with every game he played in attack and defense.

Jacob's passion for the game grew throughout the year as he became aware of his ability and love of the game.

All in all what a great year! Win, lose or draw these boys would still run around for hours after the games if we let them!

Great to see how well they get along together! They have certainly made some friendships. Hope everyone else enjoyed

it as much as I did!

What a fantastic season the Under 6 Purple team have had this year. Personally this was the first time for me being a

Soccer mum, and also doubling as a Manager it was wonderful to see how far our boys have come along with their game

and grow as part of a team. We were unbeaten all season and each child improved their game weekly.

Noah, Tadhg, Ricky, Ethan, Arnav and Timmy - it has been amazing to see the important lessons and values you boys learned about working together with your teammates and displaying the spirit of competition, with cheering each other on when your teammate scored or showed excellent skill with handling the ball. Each and every one of you played so well in every game. WELL DONE LADS! I also wanted to say thank you to our coaches Anil and Marcus for your knowledge and input with training and moulding our boys to become fine little athletes. Although they had had amixture f wins, losses and draws they never lost faith and always had a smile on their faces.

It was a real please to coach this year and I thank all the parents for their support andhelp throughout the season.

UNDER 8 BLUE

It was a really fun season had by the Under 8 Blues. It was great to see some familiar faces with Evan, Xavier Lachlan,

Ryan and Nikhil returning for yet another season. These player’s skills have come a long way in the last 3 or 4 years.

Ryder, the son of a former team mate of mine from way back in 1993 joined the team along with some first time players

with the twins Hayden and Chloe and also Emily. All of the players gelled really well right from the start and they all had

a really good time and some really hard fought victories.

CAN I BE GOALKEEPER?? This was the most asked question every week. Before every kick off and at every half time at

least half of the team wanted to go in goals. I think they were a bit excited about finally having goalkeepers as part of

the game… or they just wanted to stay warm by wearing the long sleeve keepers jersey.

A very big THANKYOU goes out to the little brothers of Evan and Ryder for filling in during the season. Jeremy and Eligh

both helped out a bunch of times throughout the year and you couldn’t even tell they were U6’s playing in U8’s.

Another big THANKYOU goes out to the sideline crew for all your help during the season.

The 2016 season was a really enjoyable and rewarding season for me personally as a coach and also for the kids as

well. 6 of our players returned from last year’s under 7’s team (Angus, Eamon, Leo, Mark, Maroun and Rishab) while we

gained 5 new players (Cooper, Gianna, Jude, Lachlan, Tyrese) to form a great new under 8’s team. Some of the rookies

had never played the round-ball game so it was fascinating to watch them transition into footballer players.

We started the season and end the season as almost 2 completely different teams. Now we know that scores aren’t

kept and under 8’s is non-competitive, but no one explained that to the kids and they tell me we only “won” about 1 of

our first 8 games, but they also told me we won our last 6 games straight so I say that means we came home in fine

style.

Lastly, I would like to thank all the parents who gave their time to help with setting up and taking down nets and cones

on training nights. Also, thanks to those who volunteered for canteen duty and field set up for home games and also to

those dedicated souls who washed shirts. If you think that’s a lousy job for under 8’s, just wait till under 16’s when

there are 15 or 16 shirts, far smellier than they are now.

Finally, the biggest thanks is saved for Mark Magro, the manager who does ALL the managing and leaves me free to do

the things I do best - make bad jokes, trip on size 3 soccer balls, help kids enjoy the beautiful game and encourage them

to keep trying and come back again next year.

To this end I know we have lost Leo as they have moved onto greener pastures so good luck to Leo, Liz and

Nas. Hopefully we’ll come up against you when we play Harrington Park in 2017.

First of all we would like to thank Ingleburn Eagles to present us a fantastic season for the children to play soccer. Our

team was immensely privileged to have such a great opportunity not only play soccer as a team but also learning social

skills including sportsmanship.

Nabhan,Nehan,Keenan,Aayan,Kartik,Avinash,Prajwal,Tashan,Ceryl and Manha – well done for the great effort to show

your best performance.You all will develop more skills in next few years.

Children are growing and this kind of team work is very useful to develop their social skills. Our team strive to participate

most of the matches regardless of the outcome.

They are still learning and will learn to play skillful soccer in the upcoming days and I hope next year they will play their

best in the background of their previous year skills.

Coach Harry did his best to engage all the children in the game despite a lot of challenges.

An incredible season is best to describe Year 2016. Many kids playing together as a team for the 1st time. The season

began with comprehensive losses in both our trial games. We had 5 players turn up for our round 1 match which we

won. We lost our round 2 match by 1 goal but showed signs of improvement. Their enthusiasm and dedication towards

training started to produce results on the field. They began to gain confidence in themselves and their team mates. Our

last loss of this season was in Round 5 on the 30th April. The team has been undefeated for 4 months. If ever they

doubted their abilities, it changed in round 14 on the 2nd July. We were playing a team that beat us in round 1. The kids

produced a herculean effort to beat the opposition convincingly. Unknown to us, the opposition team were unbeaten up

until then. The opposition coach commented that it took a team of champions to beat his team. We have scored a total

of 102 goals and conceded only 18 goals. Our season ended on a high winning both our gala day matches with a margin

of 13-1.

Aaron - One half of our defence that made up our brick wall. Controlled our defensive line with his partner Alex. Great

balls skills and is comfortable playing in any position. A strong player with the stamina to run the length of the field.

Responsible for our fantastic defensive record.

Alex – A naturally gifted defensive player. Second half of our brick wall. Controlled our defensive line with his partner

Aaron. A tough cookie who does not take a backward step. Lots of speed, strong in his tackles and plays with a smile on

his face. Also responsible for our fantastic defensive record.

Aryan – A zippy player who shows up in places you least expect him to – like goal mouths and then slots them in. A little

pocket rocket who is versatile and had some good saves in goals.

Jesse – Youngest member of our team. Confident in his ability, vocal and played centre right and goals. Loved to play

with his team mates. Good saves in goals and scored good goals. Formed some good combinations and provided some

good passes.

Kunaal – 2nd youngest member of our team. Improved as the season progressed. Committed and confident throughout

the season with good kicks. A happy go lucky player who made some good saves in goals.

Rehaan – Big improver in the team as the season progressed. Quiet by nature, he became confident and started running

the ball. Not short of a smile but always determined to go looking for the ball. Improved ball skills and tackles.

Rohan – Sublime ball skills who controlled the front line with confidence. Works well with midfield and is comfortable

playing in any position. Found the back of the net many times with his powerful kicks and touches. Quiet by nature but

has lots of talent and ability.

Mohammed – Good ball skills and speed. Comfortable playing up front and improved on his passing game. Made some

good saves in goal and scored good goals.

Monish – A tough team player who does not mind putting his body on the line. Has developed his ball skills and has a

very powerful kick. Another player that pops up everywhere.

Nikhil – Naturally talented player who controlled our midfield and forward line. Fantastic control of the ball who has the

ability to read the game and good positional play with his forward line. Comfortable playing in any position. Found the

back of the net many times with his skilful boot.

A team cannot succeed without the support of parents. A big thank you to parents, grand-parents, extended families

and overseas visitors/spectators for their support. The dedication of the parents saw most kids turn up at training on

cold windy days unless they were sick. A big thank you to our Manager Kritika who managed to keep the coach, players,

parents and families in check whilst being the most vocal supporter.

2016 was an awesome season!!! Under 10 yellow welcomed 6 new players to the team and welcomed Travis as our

coach.

With only 1 loss all season the team played awesome games of soccer. Well done to my 13 little champions; Lachlan,

Madison, Cooper, Simon, Elijah, Nicholas, Jarod, Zachary, Issabella, Cedrik, Lee, Zackery & Heath for their sportsmanship

giving their all each week on the field and it was a pleasure to manage a great bunch of kids!

Some hadn’t played competition soccer before and it was just inspirational to see the improvement in not only the

players who had come back but the kids who hadn’t played, they really made the whole coach/managing worthwhile

with their effort and determination.

Many thanks to Travis for your time and commitment to the game to coach the kids each week, it’s not an easy task and

you stepped up and gave it your all every week considering you had another team to manage and I thank you, we made

a great team!

A big thanks especially goes to the parents for bringing your child to training and games each week, your support and

commitment was greatly appreciated again and makes my job as manager that so much easier.

The U10s Blue have performed well this season and have really improved year on year. The 3rd season for this team with a few new faces, the boys came into this season with basic knowledge and skills of the

game. Through a mixture of repetitive and fun drills, the boys are continuing to developed their skills to a point where

they started to introduce them into game day situations.

As with most 9-10- year olds, distractions and short attention spans are at times challenging, but over the course of the

season these became less so. It has been a challenge, but seeing the development and notably the enthusiasm the boys

have displayed has given us the drive to keep going each week and giving it our best.

Friendships have been made, goals have been kicked and blocked - The looks on the boys faces and the team work used

when they get a goal has been fantastic to watch!

We hope they continue on an upward path of development through their years.

Well Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, what a year we have had. Wooden spooners last year to GRAND FINAL

WINNERS this year. WOW what an effort.

These girls came back this year with a glint in their eye, and fire in their bellies. They love their soccer and trained hard

week in, week out. All year their commitment to training was outstanding. The improvement that we all saw was

amazing. The team just gelled and great friendships were formed.

We progressed into the grand final by beating the minor premiers in the semi-finals 2-0. We had a couple of weeks off

leading up to the grand final so what did the girls do? They trained of course. Saturdays and Thursday nights. Grand Final

day arrived, we were playing minor premiers (Oran Park) again. It seemed like we were always a goal behind the whole

game. It ended up 3-3 at full time. 5 minutes extra time each way was all we needed. The girls lifted, stepped it up a

notch and ended up scoring 2 more goals. End result 5-3. The girls war cry never sounded better.

It has been an absolute pleasure coaching such a wonderful group of girls this year. Each and every one of you girls

deserve this, so enjoy it.

Shout out to our amazing manager Nicky. Could not have done it without you. You’re a champion and you made my

season so much easier. Also Kurt, there every training session and game helping me out. You’re a legend.

Coach: Michael Winter Manger: Karen Winter 13/3's had a mixed season of highs and lows ( playing short in our first game played with 8 players against 15 on a very hot day, down 2-1 at half time came back 2-2 in first 5 min of second half only to get the legs run of us and go down – proud of the courage the boys showed and that stayed with them for the rest of the season. Never say die.) Had some amazing moments throughout the season with some spectacular goals and some awesome saves, but through other obligations and commitments we were unable to keep the entire squad together at crucial times throughout the year and went down narrowly in some hard fought games, that cost us a place in the finals. I would like to thank all the boys for season and hope to see you all back next year, so you can take out the Division Championship. To all the parents who turned up on the cold nights for training and the ones who showed up at our games a big THANK YOU A great year with all the team, it was a pleasure to coach all of them. Starting the year they were a bunch of kids with some mediocre talent but a lot of heart and thirst to better

themselves…… we had our downs to the start of the year and after finding a sticking gel they started to play and enjoy

the game more and more as the season came to the close..

Our first couple of games where really a learning curve for our team as most of the boys playing in a higher age bracket

with both under 123s and under 13s boys being put together…. But just our 3rd game in with some very tired boys from

playing the day before on the sat, turning up to a Sunday game at Minto…

This game took myself and others to the brink… with shots missing left right and centre from both teams with our star

goalie Sebastian doing some great saves…however after a well-played ball forward a new player to the game Moustapha

did the natural thing and kick the ball towards the goal … however the ball sailed over the head of the goalie and into the

back of the net……. Not only did the team go up in the air but I’ve never seen a father jump so far into the air when his

son scored his first goal… thus the team then lifted and won the game this being the first win in years for some…… I have

never seen happier faces on these kids….

After this game those that players seem to start to enjoy the game more and more knowing it was only a matter of time

until there next win… which happen some weeks later but it came with a great win vs Harrington park and then towards

the end of the season another 2 nil win vs Minto….

I would love to go through and single out every player and there great talents … but I don’t have pages to use here….. so

I would love to congratulate all of the players this season that played for the 13/4s with a special mention to the boys

from the under 11s for helping out fill in for some of those games with them even scoring a few of the goals for us…

A big thankyou to the eagles committee for your support this year … the parents for allowing your children to play as

well as turning up to those cold morning to support your children weather setting up the field/working in the canteen or

being a cheer squad on the sideline…

Thank you to Scott (aka commando) Mr Reynold’s and Mr Holmes for helping me out this year when I was away with my

own family commitments …..

But the biggest thankyou goes to Michelle Reynold’s… For your continued support and always helping out in your best

possible way for the team…..

Finally to the boys, you’re all great kids growing into men. But don’t forget upon growing into men u need to sit back

relax and have fun as much as you can while you can….and playing soccer can do this for you all …

The 14-2s finished a creditable fourth this season.

The team was very solid defensively and kept the goals scored against us to a minimum.

The mid-fielders battled hard each match, helping to create some fine passing movements.

Up front we had plenty of opportunities, but luck was against us at vital times when goals looked certain to be scored.

It was great to see so many players develop their skills at training and then demonstrate those same skills during

matches.

Our hard working Committee members need to be praised for all their efforts this year.

A big thank you to the boys’ parents who have been very supportive and proved to be a fantastic cheer squad.

We are proud to have been associated with the boys during 2016 and look forward to seeing them return for season

2017.

It was a pleasure to be involved with the U14/Div3 side as coach along with Terry Dumont and Gary Smith. We had the

pleasure of instructing a great bunch of young players that were always keen to train with the majority of the players

present at every training session.

All of the boys trained well throughout the season and all of the boys showed improvements in their skills by the end of

the season. It was particularly encouraging to see how well some of the players that had not played before worked hard

and soon showed great improvements in their skills and game play.

The side had a good year and progressed from a group of players to a team that worked well together. The boys by the

end of the season were able to play a structured game in which they were competitive with any team in the

competition.

The boys played many good games but the most memorable was when the boys played the competition leaders on a

wet and cold day and every player worked extremely hard to help achieve a 1-0 win, another was the day we played

Narellan at Tahmoor with only 9 players and came away with a 1-1 draw.

The boys qualified for the Semi’s in which the played a great game to beat St Marys to earn a spot in the next round to

play Narellan. Our game against Narellan started well with the boys playing a good structured game that produced an

early goal to take a 1-0 lead however things didn’t go as well as we had hoped with players suffering from the heat and

we eventually went down 3-1.

With increased dedication to fitness and drill training the boys will be able to continue to improve and have the

potential to win a grand final next year.

Well what can I say. It was a hard start to the season which really showed the boys what it was going to take. After a few losses and one that the really hurt the boys pulled it together. They were the only team to take a point off the team that won the comp. They also ended up winning against every team out side of our own Ingleburn team and the Collies. Paul and myself saw a massive improvement in the boys both in their skills and their understanding of the game. It was a pleasure to coach every one of these young men. I would also like to say a special thanks to Paul as he was always there for the boys and myself. I personally know the boys have a massive amount of respect for Paul and he was the man that helped pull the boys back together in the hard times. Cheers Scotty

having a recognized goalkeeper, bringing boys in that could still play under 15’s it was always going to be tough.

With limited preparation we managed to win the first game of the season, but now looking back we probably used up all

of our luck we were going to get during the season in one game.

The season after that game was never going to be easy, but to the boys credit they never gave up, everyone worked

hard at training.

We endeavoured to play football rather than just kick and chase, and this was noted by other coaches and even referees

who complimented us on the way we were trying to play. However we weren’t quite strong enough to get over some

teams and the luck didn’t go our way. We were on the wrong end of the scoreline in most games but this didn’t reflect

the effort we put in, and with a bit of luck we could of been on the right side of the scoreline in many games.

Everyone contributed in their own way during the season, and I hope all the boys got something out of the season. Just a

special mention to Brandon who stepped in goals for most of the season and did a great job. Thanks also to Ky, Shaun,

Ashik, Sami, Tanmay, Lochlin for going in goals at different times in games.

It was a pleasure to be the coach of a great bunch of young men, so thanks guys.

There is no doubt that this year was a tough year for our team. It did not start well as we couldn’t get a 14’s team up so

we combined the 2 teams to form the 16’s. This meant that only one player in the team was an under 16, and about half

the team were 14’s (and three will still be 14’s next year). From this squad we had about 4 players who had played

outdoor soccer before ever and only 2 who played in 2015. What this meant was that we were starting from scratch.

The great highlight for me this year was watching players improve through the year. Players learnt a lot about the basics

of soccer (striking, dribbling, first touch and ‘1 on 1’) and also a little about positional play and game play. Throughout

the season these skills grew and were applied making us a more difficult team to play. Many opposition coached who

played us a second time commented on how much we had improved throughout the season. This was demonstrated

with a dramatic improvement in our results.

Our early results were not good. We were towelled up a few time (although no one got to double figures). But even as

this was happening there was a resolve to keep playing, improving and enjoying the game. Often the sledges from the

opposition teams steeled the resolve to not give up. As the season went on the results improved, we scored goals, and

we even managed a hard fought draw.

During the season we also celebrated ‘Women in Soccer’ by playing a game down at Lynwood park on the new synthetic

turf. This was a great occasion and the girls enjoyed the experience of playing on a fully ‘grassed’ flat surface with a

referee and 2 AR’s.

Overall we had a generally fun but tough season together. Thanks to the parents, families & friends who were

consistently helpful, positive and supportive through the season. Also thankyou to the Eagles club who are a very easy

club to play for. Thanks to Mel who was an excellent manager. All the best this year’s players as you continue to play the

beautiful game.

The year started with Adam Maxwell and Danyon Kennedy rallying together to form a team from the players who were committed from the previous year but it soon became apparent that they needed to find new players. As the boys needed a coach, I agreed to take it on, providing they could muster a full team. It wasn’t long before they had gathered enough willing players and then we were ready to face the season!

Trial matches were an eye opener, battling the heat, school holidays and work commitments but the one quality that came through was the boys’ tenacity to play well. At the start of the competition, we struggled to gel though with the challenges they faced, it was clear to us we had the making of a good team. While this was not always evident in the final score, the boys never gave up and turned up the following week after some heavy losses with a fresh enthusiasm.

Throughout the season, we battled hard before we got our first win, with many close games that could have gone either way. Some games came down to the final seconds between a win and a draw or loss. This made for some exciting football for the players and spectators alike.

The 17/2’s combined a mixed level of ability with several players playing multiple positions, depending on the situation of the game. During the year the boys showed a great enthusiasm for training with a good show up every week which resulted in strong teamwork on the field. They trained hard and their football improved throughout the year.

It has been pleasures to coach the 17/2’s this year and wish the players many more years of playing football in the future.

Danyon Kennedy was instrumental in rallying the team on and off the field as one of our captains. He had a busy season in goals and in the last few rounds showed us his talents by playing a forward. His passion for soccer is evident with his focus at training and during the match. · Adam Maxwell as mentioned above was also instrumental in ensuring we had a team this year. He consistently showed his teammates his ability to score a penalty kick and was determined to be the one to convert one during a match and when he got his chance Adam knew it was a foregone conclusion he would score. The team and supporters alike were blown away with his success. A great forward who we have seen improve consistently over the many years he has played for the Eagles. · Bradman Munson surprised us all in his debut season as a soccer player. For a first time player, Bradman played a good game of soccer, contributing to the morale of the team with his humour and never-give-up positive attitude. · Karl Osborne demonstrated he was a valuable and versatile player, with his main position being right midfield. His consistent sportsmanship and team spirit is to be commended and was noticed by both players and supporters alike. · Cassidy Wright redefined energetic. His enthusiasm and determination to succeed was second to none. As we already had our goalkeeper when Cassidy joined the team, he was happy to play on the field as a forward where he demonstrated his all-round football skills. An opportunity to go into goals late in the season gave him the chance to impress us with his goalkeeping.

· Lachlan Mangan played a solid defensive game as a centre back. Time and time again, he turned the game around by sending the ball soaring well into the opposing team’s half of the field. He would be a valued player on any team. · Joel Fincher helped control the game using his skills as a valued midfield player. While a quiet achiever, he contributed to our goal tally for the season. A great team player who was able to read the play well by making passes that kept the ball going forward. · Christian Marinkovic came from another club to play football with the Eagles and we were happy to include him in our team. He played midfield, seizing every opportunity that came his way and always gave his best. · Jack Pragnell had a significant impact on the field. Having been with the team for many seasons, he read the play well, working as a pivotal member of the forwards. Although not scoring as many goals as in previous seasons, he never gave up trying. · Radith Khan returned to the team after checking greener pastures. The guys were pleased to have him back in the team with his strong presence in the midfield. A versatile player with a good attacking game, he presented us with many opportunities to score. · Gaurav Devarkonda a midfielder with a hunger to score. He was another long standing club member who was always keen to be on the field. His enthusiasm fed through to the rest of the team, lifting their spirits and encouraging them to play well. · Andrew Eggleston was another new player this year and an eager member of the team who embraced each game with enthusiasm. He played many positions and did well wherever he was needed. · Michael Pace was our wild card, with his laid-back relaxed attitude, but he would surprise us all with his impressive tackling abilities and ball skills. A reliable right back that saved the day for us with clearing the ball and feeding it through to the midfielders. · William Taylor always gave 100% on the field in the backs with his powerful kick and a determination to keep the other team at bay. A valued team member who maintained a level head when the team was under pressure despite the added bonus of having his dad for coach and mother as manager. · Joshua Bolomey was a consistent reliable left back and our quiet achiever in the team. He always showed a great commitment to his position, defying the opposition’s right wing attack on many occasions while backing up the midfields. A good sportsman and a valued member of the team.

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!!!

What an amazing season had by the Colts. We finished the season in 2nd place only being knocked out of 1st place by goal

difference in the very last round then going on to win the Grand Final 2-0 against the Premiers, Gunners.

With a new coach and a hand full of new players it took us a few weeks to gel having only 1 win from the first 3 rounds.

From then, we went on to dominate the competition with an undefeated run right through to the end of the season

being led by our inspirational Captain and Grand Final Man of the Match, Darian Craig.

It was a great season had by all with a few stand out players who performed week in week out. Shaun holding our

impenetrable defence together, Alec and Regan being the workhorses in both defence and attack down the right wing

and our Golden Boot , Reggie who scored an amazing 48 goals.

On a personal note, this was my first season coaching a senior team and I couldn't have asked for a better bunch of guys

to coach. Thank you guys for listening to what I had to say and executing it on the pitch. This was a season that I will

never forget. I had an awesome time!

I look forward to seeing what next season brings.

In my many years of coaching, I’ve had the privilege of writing reports like this for some pretty successful teams, teams

who have lifted trophies, broken goal scoring records, teams I have been proud to coach.

This season, although I would have loved to write about a premiership or some other on-field success, I am still able to

write this report with a sense of great pride and accomplishment.

When you read the stats, it didn’t look good. Inconsistency with both performance and line up, poor attendance at

training, all of these things led to us struggling to grab a semi final spot, although we were mathematically in the running

right up until the end.

In the end though, our season will be remembered for a moment that in all my years of playing and watching football,

will never be rivalled. A moment when a bunch of young guys (and a few old ones!) stood up for their mate, disregarding

the consequences and made a stand together against something they felt was not right.
