LIMOUSIN NEWS & NOTES

Fellow Members & Friends,

The New Year is here and with it comes many opportunities for Limousin breeders beginning with the National Western (which will be underway by the time this issue goes to press) and followed by an equally important slate of activities during Limousin week at the Fort Worth Stock Show. The Cowtown Classic offers TLA members the opportunity to market their products in a state-of-the-art facility and to a diverse audience. Likewise, breeders have an opportunity to acquire genetics that will add value to their respective programs. The Medal of Excellence Level I Limousin show affords breeders the opportunity to showcase their programs, as well as help with future mating decisions based on the visual appraisal of the cattle on display. The TLA’s annual membership meeting and banquet allows members the opportunity to hear what is new in their association and have a voice in its direction. The banquet presents the opportunity to visit with old friends and make new ones. The thing about opportunity, it only produces results if you act on it.

The beginning of the New Year also means it is time to renew your TLA membership. Membership matters, you matter, and we value your commitment. This year marks 12 years that I have had the honor to serve as your executive secretary, and I thank each of you who has supported the association in the good times and the bad. I believe the best is yet to come. I hope to see you all in Fort Worth.

Sincerely, RalphRalph Hawkins
