Drew Lerner, Owner, World Weather, Inc., Kansas City After reviewing current conditions in the U.S. and abroad, Mr. Lerner will spend time showing the progress in the demise of El Nino conditions and will assess the potentials for a La Nina event in 2016 or 2017. The implications of a La Nina event usually include a warmer temperature bias and slightly less rainfall during U.S. summer growing seasons, but it is not clear whether La Nina will evolve in time this year to have an influence on world weather. He will also examine other long term cycles in the atmosphere to help firm up the weather outlook for 2016 and its impact on domestic and world agriculture.

The KBA has sponsored the conservation awards

program, in cooperation with K-State’s Department of

Agronomy, to recognize Kansans that strive towards

excellence in a variety of conservation programs and

practices.

How to enter: Please use the form below to submit your high

resolution digital photo file (300 DPI at 5” x 7” minimum in JPEG format) to Sara Blubaugh at [email protected]. Or mail in a CD that contains a high-resolution image along with a printed copy of this form.

All entries must have been taken by KBA-member

bank employees, executives, directors or their family members.

Entry deadline is February 15, 2016.

The photo voted “best in show” by the KAB Division Board will receive a $100 prize. A mystery prize will also be awarded to the photographer of the oldest dated conservation award sign. Prizes will be awarded at the KBA-Kansas Ag Bankers Annual Meeting in Manhattan on Wednesday, March, 9, 2016.
