In October the students of HMS RichardsSchool were told about a woman who worksvery hard to help children who are hungry and inneed. Her foundation is called Restore a Child.Several of the classrooms decided to getinvolved.

Chipotle Mexican Grill donated rice and beans on November 4, 11 and 18. They donatedthe rice and beans for free! Although the students still payed for lunch, the money went tothe Restore a Child Fund. From this fundraiser the school earned $402.

Restore a Child is a foundation in which you can donate a certain amount of money for

things like wells, animals, and homes for people in different countries who can't afford itthemselves.

The 7th and 8th grade class at HMS Richards fasted for 30 hours. Sponsors donatedmoney anywhere from $5-$80. Ashley Halvorson said, "It was difficult not eating but it wasworth it. I felt like I was doing the right thing." Megan Michalenko, also an 8th grader said,"It was an eye opener. So many kids have to go through this. I will never have to worryabout running out of food. It was kind of hard but I told myself that I could do it and I did."Over all the 7 and 8th grade class earned $408.

Mr.B's (Mr. Bragaw) 4th-6th graders sold smoothies anddid a game called "Hit the Mark" at the Fall Festival.Half of the money they earned went to Restore a Child.Over all they earned $100. With the money, theydecided to sponsor a child.

HMS Richards wasn't the only one involved in helpingRestore a Child. Many churches including GreeleyAdventist Church and The Adventure Adventist Church,

donated some to the cause. HMS Richards earned a total of $910. And we thank parents and sponsors who havehelped. Please continue to pray for Restore a Child.

The HMS Christmas Performance was a Success

Just eight days before Christmas, on December 17, the students of HMS RichardsElementary performed their annual Christmas program, complete with plenty of music anda pageant. Directed and led by Mr. Clouzet, the students had been preparing for theprogram for months. The 1-3rd grade classes played songs on their violins, and the 2nd and 3rd grade classesplayed on their recorders. Nathan Halverson, a third grader, said, "Playing the violin forthe program was really fun." The 4-8th grade beginning band played "Jingle Bells" as well as some other selections.Colton Herber, a fifth grade member of the beginning band said, "I like the songs weperformed for the program because they were fun to play." HMS bells played "A Bit ofBach" and, "O Come All Ye Christians, Sing." The advanced bells played "Carol of theBells" and "Silent Night."

The highlight of the performance was a pageant put on by some of the 4-8 graders in theChurch. The pageant was a musical about Arch, a guardian angel who ends up working inthe Christmas division and finds out what Christmas is really all about. Ireland Anthony,an actor in the pageant, said "The pageant was great because it centered on Christ andHis love."

Campion Welcomes Joe and Eva Martin

Joe and Eva Martin are not really new to CampionChurch, but since they have been away for a coupleyears we want to introduce them to our congregation.

Joe is known as the leader of the Rocky MountainLiterature Evangelism project located at Campion

Academy. It is one of the most successful student literature programs in our country. AndEva is his right hand helper and the van driver--a vital part of the program.

Before he became an Adventist Christian, Joe was in the US Marines and served inVietnam, and both Joe and Eva came from a Catholic background. With this backdrop anda great love for Jesus, Joe and Eva love to relate to our students and help them to knowJesus too. Joe has a new opportunity to do this during this school year as he is teachingjunior class Bible--the first time he has taught, and he says he loves it.

Eva is known as a prayer warrior and teaches a women's Bible study group; she loves toread and do crafts--when there is time. Joe serves the Campion Church as one of the newelders. They are the parents of two adult daughters and five grandchildren who live inLincoln, Nebraska.
