Healthcare’s Big Changes—and Why Seniors Housing Should Also Pay Attention Meeting Level 2 (M2)—Marquis Ballroom

The sweeping transformation of the U.S. health care payment and delivery model is shining a spotlight on frail seniors and the dollars spent on their care. Increasingly payors are demanding better outcomes at lower costs. It is a challenge that private-pay and government-reimbursed providers alike have the potential to meet, as they better understand how to deliver the community setting with social supports and services that are critical to improving quality of life and care for older Americans. But meeting the challenge will require a willingness to adapt and innovate with a more flexible business model.

In this timely and provocative session, former HHS Secretary and three-term Utah Governor Mike Leavitt will discuss the health care delivery and payment model: how it is changing, what the system will look like in three to five years, what payment models are likely to dominate, and what all this means for providers of seniors housing and care.
