2016 Application for New Orleans Piano Institute and the NOPI Concerto Competition, July 24-31, 2016

If you are applying to the Institute ONLY your application should be accompanied by the Institute's prescreening audition CD or DVD of a single selection from the standard classical repertoire (a single movement of a sonata is acceptable for this audition recording), and the non-refundable General Institute application fee of $55. Please, make sure that the prescreening CD or DVD includes a clear name label of the participants and the repertoire title. Please, use the format that is playable on CD and DVD players or a PC.

If you also applying to NOPI Concerto Competition there is no prescreening audition for the Concerto Competition. Please, include the non-refundable NOPI Concerto Competition fee of $25 with the non-refundable General Institute application fee of $55 (Total: $80).

NOTE: the former NOPI participants are automatically accepted to the program and do not have to submit a recording. NOTE: the FIRST PRIZE WINNERS of the previous NOPI Concerto Competitions can not compete in the same age group.

Mail all the materials and payments to: New Orleans Piano Institute, P. O. Box 750698, New Orleans, LA 70175 or apply and pay online at www.masno.org. (Checks payable to MASNO). This application must be received by May 1, 2016. Applicants will be notified of acceptance to the 2016 New Orleans Piano Institute by May 15, 2016.

The Tuition and Room and Board fees are due by June 1.

2016 NOPI INSTITUTE REPERTOIRE

The Institute repertoire must include two memorized works in contrasting styles. No application CD/DVD is required for previous participants. When listing your repertoire please indicate which selection you would like to perform in the master-class (NOPI ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS ONLY). Please include: full name of the composer; complete title including the movement number(s) or names; keys; catalogue numbers such as Opus, K., L., Hob. BWV. etc.; timing for each selection as well as timing for each movement.
