2016 Joint Conference on Advances in Pediatric Cardiovascular Disease Management

The Heart Institute at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and the Keck School of Medicine

of the University of Southern California (USC) are pleased to announce the 2016

Joint Conference on Advances in Pediatric Cardiovascular Disease Management. The

Conference is a joint effort between Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, the University

of Michigan Congenital Heart Center and the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and

rotates between the institutions each year.

This year’s conference will feature national and international speakers discussing

challenging heart lesions and other important topics.

Conference GoalsThe conference will address a variety of knowledge gaps, with the overarching

goal of improving the care of the patient with congenital heart disease. Examples of

specific topics include new diagnostic and treatment options for patients with complex

congenital heart lesions and therapeutic innovations.

Educational ObjectiveParticipants will leave knowing the most up-to-date methods of treatment and diagnosis

for congenital heart patients and will be able to implement newly gained knowledge in

their current practice.

Target AudienceThe conference is intended for pediatric cardiologists, pediatric cardiothoracic

surgeons, nurses, perfusionists and other health care professionals who treat children

with complex heart disease.

Accreditation and Designation

Accreditation StatementChildren’s Hospital Los Angeles is accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality/

California Medical Association (IMQ/CMA) to provide continuing medical education

for physicians. Children’s Hospital Los Angeles takes responsibility for the content,

quality and scientific integrity of this CME activity.

Children’s Hospital Los Angeles designates this the 2016 Joint Conference on

Advances in Pediatric Cardiovascular Disease Management for a maximum of

14.25 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. Physicians should only claim credit

commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This credit may

also be applied to the CMA Certification in Continuing Medical Education.
