The Estate Homes

The Estate Homes at The Abaco Club are situated on expansive oceanfront or oceanview lots that offer the ultimate in privacy and luxury. These spectacular tropical dream homes offer 4 or more bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, expansive decks and are beautifully decorated throughout. Each one is different, but they’re all absolutely spectacular. Perfect for larger groups or families, the Estate Homes at The Abaco Club are the perfect setting for an island vacation that will live on in memory for years to come.

Instead, the guest residence options are far more

personal, relaxing and intimate. These range from

cozy cabanas and charming cottage villas to grand

The Cottage Villas

Each of The Abaco Club’s colorful two-, three- and four-bedroom island Cottage Villas beautifully reflects the quiet grace of its surroundings. These turnkey cottages offer ocean or beach/bay views that are almost too magnificent to be real. Inspired by traditional Bahamian architecture and with floor plans ranging in size from 1200-3000 square feet, the Cottages offer features and finishes that exude quality—including expansive decks and sunny outdoor spaces where guests can stretch out and make the most of their time in the tropics. All of the Cottages are conveniently located near the Spa, Fitness Center, Pool and Cliff House Restaurant.

The Cabanas

The Abaco Club Cabanas are delightful 1-bedroom suites nestled amidst lush tropical foliage along the first fairway of the club’s acclaimed golf course, adjacent to the more than two miles of powder-soft beach fringed by the turquoise waters of Winding Bay. These freestanding, octagonal Cabanas offer a roomy living area, beautifully tiled bathroom, king-size four-poster bed, and expansive screened-in porch. In addition to being a great place for guests, they are also perfect for accommodating the au pairs and nannies of families staying in a Cottage or Estate Home.

The Abaco Club’s location on sheltered Winding Bay creates the ideal water sports playground. Here, you can enjoy the clear waters of The Bahamas in a setting where gentle waves predominate. The beach then becomes your departure point for snorkeling, kayaking, Hobie Cat sailing, windsurfing, paddleboarding and other water sports. Glass-bottom kayaks and water hammocks are just two of the other fun and relaxing choices. The Club staff can not only set you up with all the right gear, it can also provide instruction for water sports enthusiasts of any age or skill level—and show you where to look for the most colorful fish.

Fresh Local Fare

Imagine waking in the morning, slipping into your sandals, and then sitting down to an open-air breakfast featuring fresh Bahamian fruit while you watch the sun cast its first rays over one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. At The Abaco Club, it’s a daily occurrence. Buster’s Beach Bar, where breakfasts and lunches are made to order and served with an island smile, is part tiki hut, part sidewalk cafe, part casual bistro. Decidedly low-key, it’s the perfect spot to relax with family and friends and taste the many flavors of Abaco before beginning your day or setting off on your next adventure. On Wednesday evenings, Buster’s comes alive to the sound of a local “rake ‘n’ scrape” band as club members and guests enjoy barbecue night, complete with dancing, beach bonfire and yummy s’mores for the kids.

Evening cocktails and dinner are served in The Cliff House, an octagonal clubhouse that overlooks Winding Bay from high on the ridge at Ocean Point. There, the catch of the day will be just one of many delicious choices you’ll have as you watch the sun go down over the clear, blue water of the bay. Local favorites include fresh lobster, blackened grouper, and the ever-popular conch chowder. The main dining room pairs fairy-tale sunset views with outstanding island fare, while the Founders Room and the private Founders Garden provide the perfect place for a private cocktail and dinner reception. “Guest” chefs from Southworth’s other internationally recognized clubs make frequent appearances at The Abaco Club, bringing delightful new dishes with them, as well as fresh takes on old favorites. Before (or after) dinner, there’s always a lively good time to be had at the Cliff House bar, as well—or out on the poolside patio. The golf course at The Abaco Club was designed for adventure—and to be a thoroughly enjoyable test of golf for players of all abilities. The Club’s vision to create the world’s first Scottish-style “tropical links” course was beautifully realized here by renowned golf course architects Donald Steel and Tom Mackenzie, two Britons who incorporated their knowledge of the game’s links-golf roots into every hole you’ll play.

The course’s designers were careful to give you several different ways to play each hole. Determining which route is best for your game (and the day’s wind conditions) is half the battle. This is especially true on approach shots. Often, playing for the middle of the green will be the best strategy here, because like their Scottish and Irish predecessors, the greens and the closely mown areas surrounding them are anything but flat. Miss a green on the wrong side and you’ll be challenged to save par.

Golf lessons are always available from The Abaco Club’s superb golf staff, and the Club features a brand-new practice facility, one of the most extensive in all the islands. The practice area includes a driving range, putting green, and an extensive short-game practice area where players can enjoy working on all manner of chip shots, pitches and bunker shots.

The Abaco Club spa is a place where you can relax, rejuvenate and revitalize—body and soul. It’s a place where you can choose from a wide range of signature therapeutic treatments and emerge feeling reborn. Treatments like the Royal Hibiscus Signature Facial, Bahamian Rhythmic Touch Therapy and the popular sugar and salt scrubs utilize clinically proven products from Eminence, along with other locally sourced natural elements, to leave you looking and feeling wonderful.

The Club’s Fitness Center features state-of-the-art Life Fitness equipment designed to help you make the most of your workouts. The Club also offers a range of other fitness and exercise programs—including the very popular Barry’s Bootcamp-style, sunrise workout sessions on the beach—as well as personal training opportunities.

Tennis is another form of active recreation that’s very popular with Club members. The Club offers two, all-weather, hard-surface tennis courts—the same ones used at the U.S. Open Tennis championships. There are regular competitions, as well as instructional sessions and private lessons. The courts are located in their own, private enclave amongst the palms, within walking distance of all the homes, cottages and other club amenities.

Finally, there are also a wide range of children’s activities and kids camps offered daily at the Club. The focus here is on fun, but with a healthy dose of outdoor exercise and opportunities to learn and interact with the natural environment, as well.

Pool With A ViewIf there’s a more beautiful spot in the world for a swimming pool, it must be a well-kept secret. The Abaco Club’s resort-style pool, located high on Ocean Point ridge overlooking Winding Bay, provides much more than a place to cool off or relax in the sun. The views from the edge of this infinity pool stretch for miles—past the shoals swimming with

colorful fish, past picturesque Sugar Cay, past the far edge of the Club’s seemingly endless beach, and all the way to the horizon miles out at sea. Cocktail parties often take place on the neighboring observation deck, where club members and guests mingle and share stories of their day’s adventures. This is one of the club’s best spots to take a selfie!

A Paradise for Boaters & Sailors

One of the best things about vacationing on an island is that you’re surrounded by water. In the case of The Abaco Club, that water just happens to constitute one of the most treasured areas for boating and sailing in the world. The small, offshore barrier islands and cays that surround Great Abaco create the protected Sea of Abaco, making it an ideal location for boating and sailing. The azure waters around Abaco are reputed to host the third-largest reef system in the world, stretching for more than 120 miles in all, and are home to innumerable species of spectacular sea life, from dolphins to sea turtles to brightly colored tropical fish. From your Abaco Club home base, you can cruise to Hope Town on Elbow Cay for lunch. Venture to Great Guana Cay for the famous Sunday pig roast at Nipper’s Beach Bar & Grill. Explore the historic village of New Plymouth on Green Turtle Cay. Or just stop off on Tahiti Beach, or any of the dozens of smaller deserted cays, for a barefoot walk or a private picnic on a beach.

The Abaco Club is currently developing plans for dedicated boat slips in Little Harbour, a sheltered harbor that’s just a short drive from the front gate of the club. When completed, these facilities will also include a clubhouse and sundries shop.

Flats-Fishing at its Very Finest

The waters surrounding The Abaco Club are teeming with world-class opportunities for fishing enthusiasts looking to hook tarpon, permit and much more. Bonefishing is a serious sport in these parts, and a particular favorite with both club members and visitors, who take to the saltwater flats for one of the most exciting fly fishing experiences you can find anywhere. Bonefish are wary adversaries—and real fighters. You’ll need to be patient, and cunning, to land them. But when you do, it’s exhilarating.

Deep Sea Fishing

In deeper water, trolling in the 8’-20’ depths of the Sea of Abaco can net you grouper, wahoo, snapper, triggerfish, yellowtail and dolphin. Outside the barrier reef in The Atlantic Ocean proper, even bigger game awaits. Sport-fishermen from around the world descend on these deeper waters in search of mahi mahi, barracuda, blue marlin and even tuna. Boats with impressive arrays of outriggers will be seen here, all intent on zeroing in on a big catch.

About The Abacos

The Abacos, a string of peaceful Bahamian islands, are located 186 miles east of Palm Beach, Florida and just to the northwest of Eleuthera. The pace is decidedly (and intentionally) slower here than you’ll find in Nassau or Freeport. Great Abaco, at 120 miles in length the largest island in the Abaco chain, is home to an abundance of wildlife, including the noted Abaco Parrot. Small, offshore barrier islands create the protected Sea of Abaco, ideal for boating with countless deserted sand beaches and romantic “out island” villages.

The Abacos are truly heaven on earth for boaters, sailors, snorkelers, divers and fishermen. Whether you’re looking to cruise amongst the islands and cays in search of a beach to call your own for an afternoon, or to go diving amongst the brilliant tropical fish while you explore wrecks or caves, the aquamarine waters around these islands are brimming with possibilities. Bonefishing is a particular favorite of Abaco visitors, and some of the world’s most revered bonefishing waters lie within minutes of the Club.

There’s also plenty for landlubbers to do. Marsh Harbour is an attractive and thriving town with excellent restaurants, shops, banks, medical facilities and other attractions. Hope Town on nearby Elbow Cay is a quaint harbour village that hearkens back to the colonial era. Closer to The Club, there’s the historic village of Cherokee, a step back in time to the island’s earliest settlement. Little Harbour (where the club’s dedicated boat slips will be located) is a picturesque, protected harbour that leads out to the Abaco Sea. There you’ll find Pete’s Pub, where you can sample fresh-caught fish and Pete’s tropical drink of the day, as well as a historic bronze foundry and gallery, where beautiful sculptures are created and offered for sale.

Getting Here

The Abaco Club is located just 186 miles east of West Palm Beach, Fla. in The Bahamas’ Abaco island chain. Club members and guests fly into Marsh Harbour International Airport, which is just a 20-minute drive from the Club. Regular commercial flights service Marsh Harbour (MHH) from West Palm Beach, Tampa, Jacksonville, Fort Lauderdale, Miami, Atlanta, Orlando and Nassau. Airlines servicing Marsh Harbour include American, Delta, Bahamas Air, Silver Air and Tropic Ocean Airways. The Marsh Harbour airport also has excellent FBO facilities for those wishing to fly to Abaco aboard private aircraft.

Please note that the Club has a special arrangement with Tropic Ocean Airways to offer discounted tickets for Abaco Club members and guests. These special charter flights leave from Tropic Ocean’s private terminal at Fort Lauderdale International Airport and fly directly to the private FBO at Marsh Harbour International Airport. HOW DO I GET TO THE ABACO CLUB?

Abaco is located just 186 miles directly east of West Palm Beach, Fla., a short plane ride away.

The island has its own modern airport, Marsh Harbour International Airport. There are a number of direct daily flights from several points in Florida, including West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami and Orlando. Regularly scheduled service is also available into Marsh Harbour from Atlanta and Nassau. Airlines that service Abaco include Delta, American, United, Silver Airways and Bahamas Air. A number of charter flights also fly from Fort Lauderdale into Marsh Harbour, including Tropic Ocean Airways. Special pricing is available on certain Tropic Ocean flights when they are booked directly through the Club. Delta introduced direct flights to Abaco from Atlanta in 2016 to help meet rising demand for this exciting destination.

For those wishing to fly to Abaco aboard private aircraft, you can enter Abaco via the Cherokee FBO at Marsh Harbour International Airport, which is an official Bahamian Airport of Entry with Customs. Landing fees are waived for single-engine planes at Marsh Harbour and other government-owned airports, but there is a $50 processing fee and all passengers must pay a $29 departure tax, including pilot and co-pilot. For boaters coming from Florida, the trip is approximately 160 nautical miles from West Palm Beach to Abaco.

WHAT IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT?

Anytime! The Bahamas have a tropical savannah climate and the weather is usually temperate with little humidity. From November through May, the temperature usually ranges from the low to high 70’s to the low 80’s. From June through September, it ranges from the low 80’s to high 80’s, hitting 90’s on occasion. While the winter is a great time for snowbirds to escape to Abaco from northern climes, the summer is actually one of the busiest times in Abaco, since visitors from Europe especially love to come to the area to enjoy the warm sunshine, while those from southern states find refuge from the oppressive humidity that usually dominates their home areas at that time.

WHAT IS THERE TO DO AT THE CLUB?

Visits to The Abaco Club can be as action-packed or as relaxing as you’d like. For starters, the Club has tennis courts, the #1 golf course in The Bahamas, plenty of beach toys and bikes for riding around the property (all of which are always provided free of charge), two food and beverage outlets, a fitness center and spa. Ask about special beach fitness classes like Barry’s Boot Camp or Yoga on the Beach. In addition, there are many off-property adventures to enjoy, from boating and fishing to shopping and eco-tours. WHAT FOOD AND BEVERAGE OPTIONS ARE THERE AT THE CLUB?

The Abaco Club has two restaurants – Buster’s Beach Bar and The Cliff House.

Buster’s Beach Bar is low-key and casual and located right on the beach. Buster’s is open for breakfast, lunch, cocktails and specialty dinners like ‘Caribbean Rib Night.’ Start your day with the world’s best pancakes or an omelet made to order. Conch ceviche and fritters, jerk chicken tacos and fish tacos are all mainstays of the lunch menu. Kids will love the chicken fingers, nachos and burgers. A list of specialty drinks and wines is supplemented by the bartender’s specialty drink of the day.

The Cliff House offers fabulous views of Winding Bay and sunsets from the outdoor bar and deck. Local favorites include fresh Bahamian lobster and blackened grouper. The menu offers the finest local fare, steaks and greens in a Neo-Colonial setting. A private dining room with an outdoor reception area offers the perfect setting for large family gatherings including anniversaries, reunions and birthdays.

If you’d prefer to stay in, the Concierge can arrange to have a chef visit your Cottage and prepare a fresh catch of the day or other favorite dish for a group, or a romantic dinner for two. Menus can be plated or served family-style depending on your preference.

WHAT IS THERE TO DO IN THE AREA?

There are 700 islands in The Bahamas, so things to do on or under the water are at the top of the list. The Out Islands are well known for their world-class boating, fly fishing, deep sea fishing, beautiful beaches, tranquil turquoise water, snorkeling and diving. The islands boast an almost infinite array of sea life including turtles, rays, star fish and more. There are even swimming pigs on two different islands!

Island hopping is an especially popular sport. A number of islands have unique histories, with many different cultures culminating into one. Historic colonial villages exist on many islands, and you can visit museums and the homes of the earliest settlers in The Bahamas. Smalls shops and restaurants offer a taste of The Bahamas to enjoy during your visit and take home with you.

One example is Hope Town, located on nearby Elbow Cay, a 20-minute ferry or boat ride away from The Abaco Club. Hope Town is the perfect day trip from the Club, as the island is only 4.5 miles long and approximately 1000 yards wide. You can walk, rent a bicycle or golf cart to get around the cay. Hope Town has one of the last manual lighthouses in the world, and still uses a kerosene wick to provide a safe way for boaters in the dark. The Wyannie Malone Museum tells the history of Hope Town from the origins of the Lucayan Indians, pirates, and rum runners to the days of settlers arriving from the U.S. and beyond in pictures. There are plenty of options for food and drink, including the Abaco Inn and FireFly. Tahiti Beach is a great snorkeling and shell-hunting spot.

WHAT IS THE FISHING LIKE?

The Bahamas has world-class fishing – whether you are looking for deep sea, sport/tournament fishing or fly/bonefishing in the beautiful saltwater flats. Guests travel from all over the world in search of permit, tarpon and bonefish.

There are a number of big-game fishing tournaments in The Bahamas held on various islands. Dozens of records are broken each year on catches of marlin, tuna and sharks, to name a few. You can try your hand at landing a fish that outweighs you by more than 5 times in a tournament or head out on a day excursion. The best part of deep sea fishing in The Bahamas is that you don’t have to go very far. Due to the topography of The Bahamas, there are deep-water drop offs only 10 minutes out to sea.

Bonefish look almost transparent in the water, which is part of the sport of Bahamian fly fishing. You can wade into shallow waters and cast, or take a boat out into the flats with a guide who can help you spot and show you how to cast.

If you do catch a game fish, the Club Concierge can have a chef clean and cook the fish for your dinner!

HOW DO I ARRANGE FOR A FISHING OR BOATING EXCURSION?

Booking an excursion is easy, as the Concierge at The Abaco Club has a preferred list of guides and captains. Whether you are interested in fishing, snorkeling, island hopping, diving, the Club Concierge can assist in choosing the appropriate excursion for your preferences and skill level.

CAN YOU HELP ARRANGE GROUND TRANSPORTATION?

No matter what time you arrive at the Marsh Harbour International Airport or FBO, The Abaco Club Concierge can assist with arranging transportation to get to your destination. The concierge can assist with having a driver greet you at the airport, take you grocery shopping, to Pete’s Pub, the ferry station or any of the other sites on Abaco.

Dating from Colonial British rule, the cars in The Bahamas drive on left side of the road. With a valid driver’s license, the concierge can also assist in making a reservation for a rental car, or have one delivered to the Club for you.

WHAT ARE THE GOLF FEES AT THE ABACO CLUB?

The Abaco Club boasts the #1 golf course in the Caribbean, and if the undulating greens and winds aren’t challenging enough, concentrating on your shotmaking with the breathtaking bay and ocean views you’ll encounter throughout the course might be. Green fees for Cottage and Cabana guests, including cart and access to the Club’s extensive new practice area, is $175 in the high season and $125 in the off-peak season. Rental clubs are available for an additional fee.

WHAT DO I NEED TO PACK?

When traveling for leisure, The Bahamas is fairly casual. During the day, shorts, swimsuits and cover ups, a hat, sunscreen, sundress might be appropriate depending on your activities.

Golfers should bring proper golf attire and golf shoes. For men, that includes a collared short or long sleeve shirt, slacks or knee-length Bermuda shorts. Women’s options include a sport dress, skirt, slacks, knee-length Bermuda shorts and collared golf or sport top. Tank tops, T-shirts, short shorts and halter tops are not permitted.

The tennis dress code includes proper tennis shoes and shorts/skirts. Shirts are required at all times.

The pool area is located on the outdoor deck of the Cliff House. Appropriate swimming attire is required. Cutoffs, dungarees, Speedos and Bermuda shorts are not permitted at the pool. A cover-up/dress or shirt and shoes or other foot coverings must be worn outside the swimming pool area when entering other facilities. Children must be at least 3 years of age and toilet-trained in order to use the pool. The wearing of diapers is not permitted in the pool.

Casual workout attire is acceptable at the fitness facility, including T-shirts, tank tops, tights, gym shorts or warm-up pants. Only aerobic or court shoes may be worn to use the fitness equipment – no persons will be permitted to use the machines or participate in exercise classes without the proper footwear. It is requested that all jewelry be removed prior to exercising, as it can damage the machines.

Buster’s Beach Bar permits beach attire, but shirts and cover-ups must be worn while dining or remaining at the facilities.

The Cliff House restaurant dress code is resort casual with appropriate restaurant dining attire. While a jacket and tie are not required, shoes and shirts must be worn at all times. Pool, beach or fitness attire is not permitted in the Cliff House restaurant.

During the evening, it can get a bit cool and windy, and a light jacket or sweater would suffice.

DO I NEED A PASSPORT TO VISIT THE BAHAMAS?

The Commonwealth of The Bahamas has been an independent country since 1973, so a passport is absolutely necessary to gain entry. You will pass through immigration and customs upon entering The Bahamas and as you return to your country of origin.

WHAT CURRENCY IS USED IN THE BAHAMAS?

The Bahamian dollar is on par with the U.S. dollar, so most Bahamas retailers accept both Bahamian and U.S. currency. Credit cards are accepted at The Abaco Club. If you take an excursion, many places accept credit cards, but not all cards are accepted at all retailers. You may want to inquire before you leave The Abaco Club.

WHY DOES THE CLUB HAVE A NO-TIPPING POLICY?

As a private members club, The Abaco Club took the decision to eliminate tipping from the Club’s daily activities. This decision stemmed from the desire to eliminate as much crass commercialism from the club experience as possible, both for members and guests of the Club. You are here to relax and rejuvenate, not worry about dollars and cents. No tipping is ever permitted for any club service—so don’t be offended if a staff member turns down a tip! Instead of tipping, the Club pays its staff members excellent wages, and employees are additionally provided with annual bonuses.

ARE PETS PERMITTED AT THE ABACO CLUB?

Pets are not permitted at The Abaco Club unless you are a resident or guest of a resident and staying in the resident’s home.

The Bahamas has strict pet guidelines for bringing a pet into the country. You can find information on www.bahamas.gov.

Please check with your airline in advance of making reservations as each has guidelines and restrictions for flying with pets.

DO I NEED AN INTERNATIONAL ADAPTER FOR MY PHONE, LAPTOP OR OTHER ELECTRONICS?

If you are traveling from the U.S., Canada or other countries where the standard is 100 – 127V, you will not need an adapter. If you are traveling from Europe or Asia where they commonly use 220-240V, you will need an adapter.

WHAT IS JUNKANOO?

While the origins of Junkanoo are debatable, what is absolutely clear is that this is one of the biggest and most fun parades in the world! Junkanoo consists of band troupes, sometimes 1,000 in a troupe, dressed in bright costumes and made up of dancers plus horn and drum players. The troupe performs intricate dance routines and moves as it parades around. Most Junkanoo troupes participate in competitive ‘rush outs,’ which culminate in the entire troupe ending in a sensational procession. The bells, whistles, drums, horns and dancers create a very festive mood! At the end of the parade, judges award prizes for the best costumes, best music and best overall group presentation.

The Abaco Club hosts our own Junkanoo parades on occasion at Buster’s Beach Bar.

WHAT COMMISSION DOES THE CLUB PAY TO TRAVEL AGENTS?

The Abaco Club offers a 10% commission on published room rates (taxes and fees not included).

ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON VISITS FROM NON-CLUB MEMBERS?

The Abaco Club was created to be a private, international sporting club. The goal of the club is to provide a private haven for Club members and residents.

In order to introduce the Club, its amenities, and its real estate ownership opportunities, it welcomes visitors to come to the Club as guests up to a maximum of three times. This offers visitors the chance to experience the Club just as a member or resident would on multiple occasions in order to determine whether they would like to become part of the Club community. Please note: high-pressure sales tactics are never used at The Abaco Club. In fact, just the opposite. If someone falls in love with the Club, as so many do, and wish to inquire about membership or home ownership, we are only too happy to provide that information. Otherwise, our guests are treated no differently than our members or their guests. We do everything in our power to make sure they feel most welcome at all times, and to ensure that their thoroughly enjoy their stay at the Club.

AS A TRAVEL AGENT, WILL I LOSE MY CLIENTS SHOULD THEY BECOME MEMBERS OF THE CLUB?

Not at all. The minimum bar to entry for the Abaco Club on Winding Bay is $10,000 for an international membership. Once someone becomes a member, they are then entitled to a 20% savings on accommodations, which often results in their upgrading from a Cabana to a 2-, 3- or 4-bedroom Cottage or even possibly an Estate Home. After a client becomes a member, travel agents are no longer eligible to earn a commission from The Abaco Club for booking accommodations for them. However, members typically extend invitations to their family and friends to visit. Ultimately, this can bring travel agents new clients as you will already know the ins/outs of booking trips to Abaco. Travel agents can also receive commissions on accommodations bookings for unaccompanied guests of members who visit the Club, as the unaccompanied guest cannot receive the member discount.

“I spend a lot of time in the Bahamas/Caribbean (roughly 40 nights per year) for work. I have never been to a resort in the Bahamas I would come back to on vacation.

This resort is the exception. The hotel sits on a stretch of beach that is a mixture of Tortola and Fiji. The sand pure white, the water is crystal clear. A natural breakwater half a mile from shore provides calm waters. The hotel provides kayaks, windsurfing, and paddle boards for free. Tennis courts are available and I think they provide rackets to use. The golf course looked well kept and the 18th hole on the water looked picturesque.

The bungalows are large, clean, and comfortable. The service is great, the food is great, and a golf cart is provided to each room for transportation. Wifi was plentiful and quick throughout the resort and beach. I was very impressed with this resort.”

TRANSPORTATION

Air Service

Marsh Harbour’s new International Airport is located 20 minutes from the property and operates several regularly scheduled commercial flights to and from Atlanta, Nassau, Miami, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach. Seasonal flights also operate from Orlando, Jacksonville and St. Augustine. The new terminal opened in May, 2014 and accommodates both commercial and private aircraft. Those arriving from destinations outside Florida can also fly into Nassau or Freeport and then take a connecting flight to Marsh Harbour.

Guests and members may also take advantage of the Club’s current partnership with Tropic Ocean Airways to fly semi-private from Ft. Lauderdale to Marsh Harbour.

Ground Transportation

Transfers can be arranged through the Club Concierge. Taxi service is also available, as are rental cars. On-property transportation is provided via club golf carts. Use of cars is limited to the property’s few main streets. Rental cars and taxis are available for trips to Marsh Harbour, Pete’s Pub and other areas of interest on Great Abaco.

MEMBERSHIP

The Abaco Club on Winding Bay offers a variety of membership types. Members at The Club also enjoy reciprocal privileges at all other Southworth properties, with full use of their facilities and amenities. Current memberships offered at The Abaco Club include:

Resident Golf – offers full use of all facilities

Local Non-Resident Golf (non-Bahamian citizen) – offers full use of all facilities

Bahamian Non-Resident Golf (Bahamian citizen) – offers full use of all facilities

International Non-Resident Golf – offers 20 tee times per year, participation in member events and tournaments (space available) and unlimited access to all other facilities

A non-refundable initiation fee is required upon signing. Initiation fees range from $5,000 to $100,000 depending on membership category. Annual dues range from $1,800 to $11,500.

Guests who are not affiliated with members of the Club are also welcome to visit and experience the Club and its luxurious lifestyle, with a three-visit limit. After three visits (or more than 30 days), guests must become a member or resident to continue visiting the Abaco Club on Winding Bay.

HOMES AT ABACO

Residential options include Estate Lots, upon which can be created beautiful custom homes, luxurious two-and four-bedroom Cottages, and elegant one-bedroom Cabanas.

The Estate Lots

The Abaco Club’s Estate Lots are located in the east and west sections of the golf course, all with spectacular ocean views. They range from $3 - $4 million for one to two acres.

The Cottages

The Cottages are semi-customizable, plantation-style, single-family homes with golf and/or water views. The Cottages are available in two-to-four-bedroom configurations, with interior design packages featuring island-inspired colors and furnishings. Approximately 2,800 square feet, the Cottages range from $1.6 - $3.0 million.

The Cabanas

Approximately 650 square feet in size, The Cabanas are one-bedroom stand-alone buildings which offer golf course views, comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces, and are priced at $375,000.

The Great House and Coral House

ADDITIONAL ATTRACTIONS

The Bahamas have the third-largest coral reef system in the world. The diving and snorkeling among the many smaller islands, cays and even shipwrecks can be easily arranged with a group or private charter.

Abaco National Park is a 20,500-acre nature reserve in Southern Abaco famous for its Abaco Parrot (formally known as the Bahama Parrot) sightings. Once prolific throughout The Bahamas, the parrots are now found only on Abaco and Great Inagua. A flock of parrots can often be found in the trees bordering the golf course and overlooking the cabanas at The Abaco Club.
