What to Watch For - Southeastern at Southern Utah

• On the Lion Offense The Lion offense managed 203 total yards in the season opener at Oklahoma State. South-eastern was led by senior running back Kaelyn Henderson, who finished with 68 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown. Seniors Justin Alo (3-8, 94 yards) and D’Shaie Landor (1-6, 12 yards) split time at quarterback for the Lions. Alo was more effective in his time under center in the opener and is slated to make his first start as a Lion on Saturday at Southern Utah. South-eastern will be looking to clean up mistakes, as Oklahoma State scored off of all four South-eastern turnovers in the loss.

• On the Lion DefenseThe Lion defense saw several standouts in the season-opening loss at Oklahoma State. Ju-nior Javon Tillman led the Lions with 10 tack-les, while junior Torrance Mosley added nine tackles in his Southeastern debut. Senior Caleb Young, senior Jon Taylor and junior Lee Spight all recorded sacks, while senior Will Hines re-covered a fumble for Southeastern.

• About Southern UtahNo. 23 Southern Utah is the defending Big Sky Conference champions. The Thunderbirds opened the 2016 season with a 24-0 loss at Utah. • Lions with Utah TiesWhile no Lions are Utah natives, a pair of Southeastern players have Utah ties. Sopho-more reserve quarterback Donovan Isom and junior wide receiver Monte Seabrook, who will miss the game due to injury, both signed with the University of Utah out of high school.

• Southeastern in UtahSaturday’s game will be the first game South-eastern has ever played in the state of Utah.
