With the support of our partners and donors the BCRD reached a new milestone, we hosted over 600,000 visits across all our programs and facilities! From a record number of children learning to swim to new friends exploring Pickleball to over 350 youth competing on the new Galena Summer Trails, the BCRD sought to honor our mission by extending and expanding the opportunities for healthy, active recreation for all!

As we turn to the new year, we celebrate our community’s dedication to the completion of two of the largest capital projects in our organization’s history. The Wood River Trail Restoration Project was finished on time and on budget and will continue to tie our community together for the next thirty years. Major construction on the Galena Summer Trails Project was completed creating a 47-mile stacked loop multi-use trail system complementing the offerings at Galena Lodge and connecting users to one of the most beautiful and historic areas of the Wood River Valley. These recreational trails link us in a unique way to nature, each other and our history.

We look forward to the upcoming year with a plan to revitalize other BCRD facilities throughout the Valley and connect these active programs and facilities with our whole community. As one example, work has begun to reinvent the BCRD Aquatic Center and its surrounding space. We have embarked on a multi-year plan of enriching the user experience and ensuring affordable access to a variety of recreational activities in the space while wisely utilizing our resources so that these amenities exist for future generations.

It is with immense gratitude and with great enthusiasm that we share the successes and accomplishments of the past year. Thank you to our committed patrons, volunteers, and partners for your steadfast and continued support.
