Uptown Cheapskate Makes Tori’s Wish

Come True and Gives More!

Westerly Student Leadership 6th-8th graders in Long Beach facilitated a holiday shining star wish

list drive for their entire school K-8. The stars were in the office and labeled with an assortment of gifts

for specific wish kids along with gifts to go to kids of all ages fighting cancer . They raised $352.00 to

help fund a wish as well. One of the families donated 4 tickets to Disneyland for our wish child and her

family. Their goal was to grant 2 full wishes and they got really close and made these wishes extra spe-

cial with their ideas and donations. We are amazed at all the young philanthropists who give so much of

themselves and think of others.

Thank you to the wonderful people, schools and companies that have supported our ongoing toy collection in-

cluding Anaheim Hills Elementary and Canyon Rim 6th grade leadership for collecting Happy Meal Toys for us.

Mon at KD’s Donuts on Weir Canyon has a book exchange donation program also benefiting Grants Wishes.

The International Order of Foresters made Build a Bears for our wish kids and others fighting cancer at the

hospitals we serve. Our boxes could not be filled without the help of these young kids helping other kids that are

in need. It fills us with pride to have such wonderful people in our community. Grants Wishes has been making

toy deliveries to CHOC and their clinics since 2003. Children and teenagers select a toy from the treasure boxes

following a procedure to help redirect their attention to something fun and new.

If you would like to host a toy drive or teen collection please feel free to contact us for additional details.

There is a never ending need for treasure box toys and little somethings for the teens so they aren’t left out.

Items that are needed: Everything must be new & unused including: Happy Meal toys in their original packag-

ing, play dough, coloring books, crayons, small toys, nail polish, board games, Legos, socks, hats, reading

On November 23, 2002, five months after his relapse, Grant Sullivan lost his battle

to neuroblastoma at the age of 6. One year after his passing, the Sullivan Family

received the first wish request. In 2005, GRANTS WISHES became a non-profit 501C3 and began fundraising to

serve CHOC cancer patients. Currently serve seven hospitals in Southern California. GRANTS WISHES has

now granted over 316 wishes with the help of family, friends, donors, volunteers and grants.

We honor Grant’s memory and that of many others by granting 2nd wishes to kids fighting cancer.
