Well, this year is almost over. It has been an honor to have been your

Exalted Ruler. I hope I have served the Essex Elks members proudly of this

Great Lodge of ours. But we all know it’s all of us who have made this Lodge

the success that it is. So with this being said, I thank all of the membership fortheir help and support and a special thanks to all of our committee leaders and

thanks to all of our Officers for theie time and leadership.

Members of our lodge saw a need and jumright in to help. After the tragic deaths of t

Harford County Sheriff’s Deputies, these memb

knew there was a need for a wake, something

lodge knows only to well.

The Joppa Magnolia Vol. Fire Dept. was

location for the wake after the first of two funer

that took place. The fire dept. was contacted a

immediately accepted the offer to prepare and se

a meal for those attending but they didn’t h

sufficient funds to do it. Through funding by on

our members, the food was purchased, the ThPhat Guys hooked up their GIANT Bar B Q G

trailer and off these members went for a 12 h

day.

The generosity and talent to get the job d

was overwhelming. By giving of their selves

support and comfort others in a time of great sorr

should be seen as a true act of human compass

and loving kindness.

I am proud to say that those members are

friends as I am sure they are of most of our memb

here at the lodge.

So I take my hat off to you:
