SELECTIONTake your time selecting the bulls for your operation. We will keep the bulls selected free of charge until June 1, 2015 and have them ready for the breeding season. Bred heifers and heifers with calves at side are to be picked up sale day or delivery arranged shortly thereafter.

PRICING AND SALE FORMATAll bulls are base priced at $2,750, all females base priced at $2,250. Bulls will sell first and follow a sale order. Each lot will begin at the base price. If more then one person is interested at that price, the lot will be bid off until one bidder remains. Bulls that do not receive the base bid will be skipped over and offered one more time at the conclusion of the bull sale. The purebred females will sell first followed by the commercial females. Heifers will be sold choice and privilege, with the buyer having the option on up to 5 head per winning bid. Please feel free to call with any questions about the format.

EPDSThe EPDs may change from the time the sale catalog is printed until the registrations papers are transferred. The EPDs in the catalog are Spring 2015 numbers.

HERD HEALTH PROGRAMAll bulls & heifers are on a complete health program and will be accom-panied by health papers for shipment anywhere in the United States. All cattle have been vaccinated for PI3, BVD, 7-Way, Blackleg, BRVS and Haemophilus and have been poured and treated with Dectomax.

TRUCKINGWildberry will provide free delivery within 200 miles of the farm.

Calf Buyback ProgramWant to top the market with your calves?We want to buy your Wildberry sired calves. For years we have fed our own calves and collected the carcass data on each animal. We know the value of the carcass genetics we have developed.

The Buyback Program is designed to give our bull customers the best price for their Wildberry sired calves each fall. To be eligible your cattle must meet the following: Wildberry bull sired calves. Age verified We need to know the approximate birth dates of the oldest and youngest calves. Not implanted at weaning and verified vaccination program that meets the Wildberry standard. Wildberry will receive and/or pickup calves in October and November. Prices will be based on the market top of the calves weight class at the Bloomington, Wisconsin sale barn or any other

mutually agreeable marketing location.

With the record prices currently being ob-served in all markets of the beef industry, it is no secret that this translates to increased prices of re-placements breeding stock. While no calculator exists to determine the exact price producer should spend on a bull, there are multiple factors that can be considered to establish a base price. Typical thumb rules that I have heard over the years for value of an average purebred bull include 2 times the value of a fed steer , 5 time the value of a feeder calf at weaning, or 25 times the cwt price of feeder calves. In the current market, using the thumb rules, we get a range of $3975 to $4650, which is very representative of early sale reports from 2014.

While spending less does not insinuate you have purchased an inferior bull, it should be expected that an above average bull for traits such as calving ease, weaning weight, docility, marbling, etc., will garner a premium. The initial investment of a bull in todays market may seem staggering, but it is an invest-ment that adds immediate value to the herd working forward. Good luck, and happy bidding.
