To thrive in today’s complex world, you need to think critically, communicate effectively and know how to build personal relationships. A Trent education challenges you to develop the skills you need to succeed.

Student-Faculty Collaboration Leads to New Patent

Trent’s Dr. Andrew Vreugdenhil

and his former undergraduate

student Tom Singleton are the

co-inventors of an innovative

environmentally-friendly anti-

corrosive coating for metals

which has earned a new U.S.

patent. The opportunity for

achievement of this magnitude

is rare for an undergraduate

researcher, but made possible by

the significant research support

and faculty expertise that are

available for students at Trent.

READY TO EXPLORE?

THE MOST POWERFUL SEARCH ENGINE IS BETWEEN YOUR EARSYour brain. What if you could teach it to think better? At Trent University, we believe

you can. Our collaborative learning environment allows students to have meaningful

interaction with professors and fellow students-where every voice is heard and debate

is encouraged. That is when real thinking happens. CHALLENGE THE WAY YOU THINk.

ILLUSTRATING THE TRENT DIFFERENCE

Is that a bad thing? We think it’s a good thing. At Trent University, we encourage discussion

and debate - to challenge the status quo. We promote an environment that is inclusive,

where students are directly engaged in their own learning and where a strong sense of

belonging gives them the confidence to flourish. challenge the way you think.

new way of expressing what is special and valuable about the Trent

experience. Trent’s collaborative learning model is distinctly focused

on creating a personal, purposeful and transformative learning

environment for you, the individual student. This makes our University

different and unique, so we thought we would illustrate that for you –

literally. You’ll see these drawings in Trent ads – and especially when

you visit our campuses, which we encourage you to do very soon.

our undergrad students in research. Here they work side by side with faculty to

gain hands-on experience or test a hypothesis - giving them perspectives that

reach far beyond the lecture hall.
