WELCOME

Our annual SUMMIT is a special time for us to gather from every corner of Europe to spend three refreshing days together as we resource and connect with each other.

Our theme this year is “GLOCAL.” We want to talk about how our IC’s act locally and impact globally.

We want to welcome our special guest presenters : Pastors Ed Teo, Leroy Cloud, Jon Davis, Jacob Bloemberg and Warren Reeve. They will be sharing in our sessions as we talk about what it means to be a “GLOCAL” church. It’s going to be a powerful time of personal and corporate ministry as we grow together.

These days have been intentionally crafted to provide meaningful relational connections, to share relevant resources and bring renewal to both you and your ministry team. We have purposefully created “white space” on the schedule so that you will have time to connect with others over a cappuccino or walk through the city.

We want to give a warm welcome to all our special guests! They are here because they are friends of FEIC and want to share the journey with us so take time to get to know them and connect with the incredible resources they will be sharing for our churches. We’ll also be introducing the Executive Team from MICN and talk more about our Global Partnership.

We want to thank Hotel Bratislava and the team at Vienna Christian Center who have worked to handle all the logistics for our time together.

Welcome to Bratislava!

Larry, Tony and the SUMMIT Planning Team

We operate with a strong belief in fulfilling the Great Commission

inside our county, our island, our province, our country and abroad. Teaching and preaching local and world missions is a proven way that we have seen to help facilitate missions ministry. Taking our people on missions trips and connecting them with other missionaries and works helps a lot. MARK BAUMGARTNERCALVARY ASSEMBLY INTERNATIONALTENERIFE, CANARY ISLAND

Our missions vision at Vienna Christian Center is to make a major

spiritual impact both locally and globally

through praying, giving and going. We intentionally have focused times of prayer for countries, unreached people groups and specific world events that give us windows of opportunities to impact lives. Every congregation receives faith promises at the beginning of every year then facilitates those missions funds locally and globally for evangelism efforts. Finally, we provide opportunities for youth and adults to take short-term missions trips to serve.

LARRY HENDERSONVIENNA CHRISTIAN CENTERVIENNA, AUSTRIA

Our mission statement states that we are ‘an international church

community that is Christ centered, seeking to be open to all as we worship, grow and serve in the Leiden area and beyond’.

This statement is meant to stress missions locally, trans-locally and further afield. Local: praying, teaching and reaching out; trans-local: projects in the Netherlands; Globally: Helping the congregation to see their time here as not just for study or fulfilling career. But rather for growing in faith and being equipped.”

Page 9: 2015 Summit

Currently, about 30% of us are M’s, and we give to relief situations or to

local ministries. We have an outreach to locals that is an English Club (with English conversation). It is 1.5 hours when we do not preach, nor do we teach English, but provide conversation practice. Through this, we build relationships and meet with people later for meaningful conversations. It is held in our church, so for a Muslim to enter a church is no small thing.”

PEYTON HARRISNATIONS CHURCHISTANBUL, TURKEY

ICF of Athens facilitates missions, because we are missions. Each of our

people groups understand missions because they have been ingrained to pray, give and go! on the receiving end of missions for much of their lives. They understand the Great Commission. We continue to focus outward and not inward, being a blessing through ministry rather than being entertained. We facilitate missions through various outreaches. Our ministry to Syrians, Afghans, and Iranians is an ongoing and growing work in progress. Regionally and globally, we have engaged with other ICF’s and International Ministries in need around the world.

PAT MAHERINTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIPATHENS, GREECE

Our missions vision is to share the Good News of Jesus with the

international community and Belgians through personal evangelism, small groups, and Sunday worship experience of Christian Center. We define missions ministry as activity that has the primary goals of cross-cultural evangelism, training, church planting, and showing compassion.

The main characteristic is that we are the only international

church here in Lugano. Our services are bilingual at every level: worship, announcements, preaching, prayer, home groups. The only thing at this stage that we do not provide is a bilingual children’s church, mainly because of lack of manpower, but on the other hand, it is not so bad as it allows international children to just jump in another language that eventually they will have to learn as they grow. It only creates a momentum in their lives and parents seem to be very happy about this.”

DONATO ANZALONELIVING WORD CHRISTIAN CENTERLUGANO, SWITZERLAND

ANCF is the only bilingual (English-Spanish) Christian church in the

area. It is located only 15 miles from the Rota Navy Base where there are other English speaking churches. There is another Spanish speaking Assemblies of God church in our town (El Puerto de Santa María). The church is very multidenominational because of the people who attend.”

JOSE ALMARZA & CARLOTTA VERDURAALL NATIONS CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP EL PUERTO DE SANTA MARIA, CADIZ, SPAIN

Our worship is in the international language of English and also

in the national language (which reaches out to the foreigners who do not understand English, but do understand Italian because they live in it). Our style of service is inclusive to several cultures. The church has become known throughout the region as one that cares for all nations and where the word of God is well preached and taught. We also have a bible school for those that desire more advanced studies, using the Berean courses of Global University of the Assemblies of God.”

WHAT CHARACTERISTICS DISTINGUISH YOUR INTERNATIONAL CHURCH WITHIN YOUR CITY OR REGION?

Page 11: 2015 Summit

Vienna Christian Center is distinguished by our vision to reach

every people group in our city. We don’t just reach out to one language or one nationality but really are a church for all nations. We do this through the weekend gatherings, small groups and outreach targeting a new language group to hear a clear presentation of the Gospel.”

We help members who move away by providing them with church and

pastoral contacts, as well as giving the church and pastors the individual’s info.”

MARK BAUMGARTNERCALVARY ASSEMBLY INTERNATIONALTENERIFE, CANARY ISLAND

We have helped connect them via FEIC and GICN or through friends

and by searching websites for churches. As well, when it is non-believers who have been traveling, we connect them with other believers if possible.”

PEYTON HARRISNATIONS CHURCHISTANBUL, TURKEY

The main thing for us is to connect them with a good international

church - although we do not have so many people moving to other countries, it does happen and then we either check on the FEIC website for a church nearby, but most of the time, we know the churches we are sending them to. This is of course a plus, because people trust our relationship. This is why I believe that FEIC and the Global network are so crucial for us, and our yearly summit help us forge great contacts and friendship.”

DONATO ANZALONELIVING WORD CHRISTIAN CENTERLUGANO, SWITZERLAND

We help by informing them of churches in the area of their

new home. Sometimes we are able to communicate to that church beforehand to get them connected. The FEIC and other organizations are very helpful so as to know where and who.”

STEVE GRAYINTERNATIONAL CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIPPADOVA, ITALY

This is one of our favorite parts about being connected to so many

amazing International Churches through FEIC. Most of our congregation in the International Fellowship of VCC are only with us for two to three years, so once we know they are in the process of moving to their next post, we always find out the name of the city. From there we contact the Pastor and be sure that we have made a connection between them both. This past year we have sent people out to other FEIC Churches in Brussels, Barcelona, Rome and even more globally.”

MELINDA HENDERSONVIENNA CHRISTIAN CENTERVIENNA, AUSTRIA

We encourage them to look for a church at their new destination

and sometimes we contact that church in advance to facilitate that information to them… although in some cases I guess we have taken it for granted and the only

thing we have done for them is praying over them in their last service they spend at our chuch. Many go back to their home-town or know of a church already...Or we ask some of our contacts in the area for a good church...But they are the ones who choose in the end...”

JOSE ALMARZA & CARLOTTA VERDURAALL NATIONS CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP EL PUERTO DE SANTA MARIA, CADIZ, SPAIN

Approximately 30% of our international congregation will change each

year. Although we never want to see people leave, we celebrate this season of their life in our services and pray over them as a missionary relocating to serve in another part of the world. We research the church community where they are moving to and try to serve as a bridge by helping them find the right place where they can continue their spiritual formation and service.”

FOUR YEARS AGO AT OUR FEIC SUMMIT, IN A DIVINE MOMENT INSPIRED BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD, THE VISION TO FORM A GLOBAL NETWORK OF INTERNATIONAL CHURCHES WAS BORN. IT WAS A DRAMATIC MOMENT THAT WAS FILLED WITH MUCH EMOTION AND ENERGY.

FROM THAT MOMENT UNTIL NOW HERE IS WHAT WE HAVE SEEN ...

GLOBALICN ... "PROGRESSIVELY EMERGING, POWERFULLY ENGAGING!"

2012 was a year of inspired creation as we crafted our vision and gave clarity to values, purposes and goals.

2013 was a year of intentional connection as we worked closely with regional champions who were already doing international church ministry in Africa, Asia Pacific, Eurasia, Europe, Latin America and Northern Asia and coached them about the value of networking that would allow them to build regional strategic networks of like-minded international churches. We also connected with leaders of other commonly-purposed mission organizations to discuss the potential development of collaborative partnerships. 2014 was a year of increased capacity as we broadened the base of GICN with the involvement of churches from Asia Pacific and Northern Asia who engaged with us on a highly interactive level.

Additionally, we developed a dynamic connection with MICN (Missional International Church Network). This connection led to the visionary decision to co-host the upcoming conference, “A Global Church For A Global World”, in Hong Kong on April 11-14, 2016 of which you will hear even more about during this SUMMIT.

2015 has been a year of incredible change as a new international church planting initiative called, "Momentum" was launched by AGWM with the goal to plant 100 churches globally over the next five (5) years! This signals a major change on many levels and assures that other like-minded organizations will do the same.

Page 21: 2015 Summit

We also held our first GICN Gathering in Jakarta in May, 2015 and had leaders representing each of the six regions in which where we serve.

GLOBALICN ... "PROGRESSIVELY EMERGING, POWERFULLY ENGAGING!"

What we are seeing causes our hearts to sing but ... we are not surprised! From the very beginning we knew that this was the time, doing it as a team was the way and that in seeking to honor each other and promote unity, we would find His favor and have His blessing!

These things have become ours in abundant measure!

On behalf of Ruthanne, who loves our journey as much as I do and the GICN team that serves with me, I want to say thank you for being with us from the very beginning and to assure you that the best is still to come!

GLOBALICN ... "PROGRESSIVELY EMERGING, POWERFULLY ENGAGING!"

Now ... forever!
