LOVE comes from the Grk. word “AGAPE”

Means a sacrificial love that voluntarily suffers inconvenience, discomfort and even death for the benefit of another without expecting any thing in return.

It’s not a feeling, it’s a motivation for action that we are free to chose or reject

SELF REFLECTION

OWhat do I need to give honor to myself?

Page 17: 2015 SOUTHERN ILIGAN & LANAO CLUSTER CONFERENCE & SEMINAR HOUSE OF WORSHIP STA. ELENA, ILIGAN CITY FEB. 16-17, 2015

HONORING EACH OTHER

ROMANS 13:7

OGive to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

Page 19: 2015 SOUTHERN ILIGAN & LANAO CLUSTER CONFERENCE & SEMINAR HOUSE OF WORSHIP STA. ELENA, ILIGAN CITY FEB. 16-17, 2015

OTo whom is honor due besides God? And how do we honor others?

Page 20: 2015 SOUTHERN ILIGAN & LANAO CLUSTER CONFERENCE & SEMINAR HOUSE OF WORSHIP STA. ELENA, ILIGAN CITY FEB. 16-17, 2015

HOW DO WE HONOR OTHERS?

OHonoring and respecting others will not happen when a superior or holier-than-thou attitude is present. Paul tells us to "esteem others better than" ourselves (Philippians 2:3).

Page 21: 2015 SOUTHERN ILIGAN & LANAO CLUSTER CONFERENCE & SEMINAR HOUSE OF WORSHIP STA. ELENA, ILIGAN CITY FEB. 16-17, 2015

PHILIPPIANS 2:3

ODo nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,

Page 22: 2015 SOUTHERN ILIGAN & LANAO CLUSTER CONFERENCE & SEMINAR HOUSE OF WORSHIP STA. ELENA, ILIGAN CITY FEB. 16-17, 2015

OHonoring from a pure motive is possible only when we have a proper perspective of who God is, what we are, and who others are in relation to us and God.

OIt begins with deep honor and respect for God—and thus for all He says.

Page 23: 2015 SOUTHERN ILIGAN & LANAO CLUSTER CONFERENCE & SEMINAR HOUSE OF WORSHIP STA. ELENA, ILIGAN CITY FEB. 16-17, 2015

WHOM ELSE SHOULD WE HONOR?

OPARENTS: "Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you" (Exodus 20:12)

OCHILDREN: “Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.(Ephesians 6:4)

OSPOUSES: ( Proverbs 31:29) illustrates how a husband praises his wonderful wife: "Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all."

Page 24: 2015 SOUTHERN ILIGAN & LANAO CLUSTER CONFERENCE & SEMINAR HOUSE OF WORSHIP STA. ELENA, ILIGAN CITY FEB. 16-17, 2015

WHOM ELSE SHOULD WE HONOR?

O WIDOWS should be honored. In I Timothy 5:3, Paul instructs, "Honor widows who are really widows

ONOTE: Honoring one another touches all of our relationships

Page 25: 2015 SOUTHERN ILIGAN & LANAO CLUSTER CONFERENCE & SEMINAR HOUSE OF WORSHIP STA. ELENA, ILIGAN CITY FEB. 16-17, 2015

OGod wants a world where respect and honor of others is the way of life of its citizens. Romans 12:10 says just that: "Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another."

Page 26: 2015 SOUTHERN ILIGAN & LANAO CLUSTER CONFERENCE & SEMINAR HOUSE OF WORSHIP STA. ELENA, ILIGAN CITY FEB. 16-17, 2015

ROMANS 12:10

OBe devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.

Page 27: 2015 SOUTHERN ILIGAN & LANAO CLUSTER CONFERENCE & SEMINAR HOUSE OF WORSHIP STA. ELENA, ILIGAN CITY FEB. 16-17, 2015

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENTOWe are to honor one another, but do we? OPerhaps we should challenge ourselves to think of

ways to show honor to someone—anyone—each day.

OWhen was the last time we actively and consciously honored someone? When did we last thank, write a letter of appreciation, or call someone to show respect?

O If we are not, maybe it is a sign that we think too highly of ourselves and not highly enough of others.

Page 28: 2015 SOUTHERN ILIGAN & LANAO CLUSTER CONFERENCE & SEMINAR HOUSE OF WORSHIP STA. ELENA, ILIGAN CITY FEB. 16-17, 2015

EXPRESSION OF HONORING

OThis is the best time you can honor someone!

OWhen we obey God's command to honor all people, we are following our heavenly King and honoring Him.

Page 29: 2015 SOUTHERN ILIGAN & LANAO CLUSTER CONFERENCE & SEMINAR HOUSE OF WORSHIP STA. ELENA, ILIGAN CITY FEB. 16-17, 2015

Page 30: 2015 SOUTHERN ILIGAN & LANAO CLUSTER CONFERENCE & SEMINAR HOUSE OF WORSHIP STA. ELENA, ILIGAN CITY FEB. 16-17, 2015

TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY

OGod wants us to learn to honor everyone.

OImagine a world where everyone honors everyone else!

GALATIANS 6:9-10

O09Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
