CONDITIONS OF SALE 1. All sales are final and there will be no exchanges or refunds.

2. Full payment by the winning bidder must be made the night of the auction. Payment may be made by cash, personal check, American Express, Master Card, or Visa. 3. Items purchased MUST be removed the night of the auction unless otherwise specified.

4. The auction committee has endeavored to catalog and describe correctly the property being sold. The auctioneer reserves the right to make verbal corrections and provide additional information from the block. 5. By his/her purchase, the buyer waives any claim for liability against The Rivers School Corporation, the Rivers Parents’ League, the Rivers auction committee, or the donor. Neither Rivers, the League, the committee, nor the donor is responsible for any personal injuries or damages to property that may result from the use of property or services sold.

TAX INFORMATION

1. For tax purposes, please check with your own accountant. In most instances, however, goods or services purchased at the auction are not tax-deductible. (The donor can deduct out-of-pocket expenses for his/her donation. Personal services that add to the value of the donation are not deductible by the donor.)

2. The Rivers School has made a good faith estimate of the fair value of auction items listed in the catalog. In the event that the purchase price exceeds the fair market value as shown in the auction

SILENT AUCTION AND QUICKIE BOARD RULES

Browse and bid as much as you like. Bidding opens at 6:30 p.m. Tables close at intervals. 1. To place a bid, give your bidder number (found on the back of your program) and the amount of your bid to the Table Captain.

2. Highest bid registered at closing time (times will be announced prior to closing) constitutes a buy. If the Table Captain is in the process of writing, he/she may complete the bid.

3. At the close of bidding, if there is a dispute as to the identity of the final bidder, the auction chair will invite the parties to write down their best bid on a slip of paper, and the person with the highest bid will be the winner. 4. A bid is a legal and binding contract to buy. All sales are FINAL. There will be no exchange or refund on items.

5. Each item will have a starting bid. Bids will be increased in $10 increments unless otherwise designated.

EXPRESS CHECK-OUT 1. Upon arrival, be sure to have your American Express/ MasterCard/Visa credit card swiped. 2. Following the live auction, simply show your catalog with Express Check-Out stamp and bidder number to the table captain, initial your high bid, and take your winnings.

3. An invoice and credit card receipt will be mailed to you the following workday. PROXY BIDS Proxy bids are being offered to allow those who cannot attend to participate in the auction. These bids will be registered on the board as the opening bid and represent the absentee bidder’s sole bid. See last page of the catalog for the proxy bid form. The form can also be found on the Rivers website. SPECIAL MESSAGE Sports tickets and golf and tennis outings are donated by season ticket holders and club members. It is understood that the high bidders for such items will not re-sell the prizes and will conduct themselves in a respectful manner that will not endanger the donor’s standing.
