The New Braunfels Parks and Recreation Department facilitates the city’s recreation and aquatic programs, athletic leagues and golf course along with maintaining 33 parks compromising over 500 acres.

Flashlight egg huntAlong with an illuminating challenge, the Flashlight Egg Hunt features photo opportunities with the bunny, carnival games and lots of candy and prizes for over 150 families in attendance.

March Movie ManiaMarch Movie Mania, our movie in the park series, is held at the Landa Park Dance Slab during the month of March. Free outdoor themed activities and games will precede the big screen showing each night and participants are encouraged to dress in theme for best dressed contests. This family friendly event is enjoyed by 600 attendees throughout the series.

thru the Chute Boat race Thru the Chute Boat Race and River Expo is a unique event that educates the community on safe ways to recreate in and around water and ways to keep our water resources clean. Individuals register to launch their handmade vessels through the chute, while spectators come to watch.

Doggie Dip DayDoggie Dip Day is a special swim for friendly dogs and their owners in the Springfed Pool at the Landa Park Aquatic Complex. This popular event is held twice a year and enjoyed by over 300 dogs and their owners.

Daddy Daughter Sweetheart DanceWith more than 450 couples in attendance, the Daddy Daughter Sweetheart Dance creates a wonderful showcase for sponsorship opportunities. Along with a night just for dads and daughters, these special couples enjoy an unforgettable night of dancing, complimentary photos, hors d’oeuvres, carriage rides, take home gifts and a lifetime of memories. As a Daddy Daughter Sweetheart Dance event partner you are part of the magic!

AktivitätAktivität is a free outdoor health and wellness event along the County Line Memorial Trail showcasing several of our great community organizations. Stations along the trail provide fitness, nutrition and health related activities and information. The free activity stations are hosted by local organizations.

Concerts in the parkConcerts in the Park series is held at the Landa Park Dance Slab on Thursday evenings during the summer months from June through August. For thirty years local musicians have performed a variety of music that ranges from country and rock-n-roll to jazz and ballads.This family friendly event is enjoyed by 4,000 attendees throughout the series in the beautiful outdoors of Landa Park.

Arbor DayArbor Day is a partnership between the New Braunfels Garden Council and the City of New Braunfels Parks and Recreation Department. Arbor Day is a free family event promoting awareness of trees and how they benefit and enhance the quality of life within our community. The event includes a proper tree planting demonstration, treeplantings, arboretum tours, a free tree giveaway, tree related activity and information stations.

Family Fun CampoutThis popular family event is an opportunity to experience camping in a local park. In addition to spending a night under the stars in Cypress Bend Park, participants roast hot dogs and s‘mores around a campfire, compete in a tent decorating contest, enjoy a hay ride and breakfast the next morning.
