For big moments, little moments and all the in between moments - if you want great pictures on location, a one hour session is perfect!Remember, I’m a documentary photographer so only 20 minutes is reserved for relaxes portraits! The rest of the time is for you to have FUN (and for me to document it for you!)
(or wet, or sandy, or painted) No more eye-rolling, groaning or full out temper tantrums about smiling and looking at the camera. This is YOU! It’s YOUR family! Let’s get some action going and just have some FUN!
Aside from the rst few moments reserved for relaxed portraits, the ses-sion is completely unstructured. This gives everyone a chance to relax (especially the kids!). Know what happens when kids relax? The moments you really want to see.
“I can just take the photos myself.” “You’re so lucky…you can take such amazing photos of your kids.” But guess what? As the photographer, I don’t get to exist in photos…and, if you’re always the family photographer, neither do you. Documentary sessions are brilliant for photogra-pher-moms and dads who are painstakingly absent from family pictures. Existing in photos is one of the greatest gifts you can give your kids (don’t you wish you had more photos of your parents from when you were little?). little?). Get in there!!!!
The only time I ask my kids to say cheese is when I’m brushing their teeth. For real. And real is what you want from your family too. So let’s leave the cheese at home, unless it’s part of the picnic.
Actually, I do care what you wear - please don’t show up as clones. Dress comfortably, or beautifully or cozy (PJ Bathing suit party anyone?). As long as you aren’t going to say “gosh I love our photos, except for the shirt Tim was wearing,” then put it on and bring it!
