What an

awesome camp!

Well organized,

creative, and

thoughtful

planning.

The camp

counselors were great!

They were engaged,

knowledgeable, friendly

and considered the skill

levels of the different

kids while ensuring

their safety.

It is like leaving my boys with family. You are excellent. Year after year!

Professionalism, security, and activity.

My daughter was inspired to take more gymnastic classes. Thank you.

The collaboration between Freedom and Inline Skate was great! My son enjoyed himself tremendously and learned a lot.

Patient, calm, polite, and such high quality!

I like that the camp is open early and late, and that I can sign my child up for specific weeks and I don’t have to commit to more than what I need. I also like that there is no registration fee.

The convenient location, the awesome selection of camps, and the hours.

I was very impressed

with the enthusiasm

and friendliness of the

counselors. I don’t know

how they were able to find

so many polite, pleasant

young adults.

He came home happy each

day. He was busy playing

and swimming and not just

sitting at day care. This is our

second year and we love it!

That

my kids woke up

every day ready

to get up and go

again.

Code Red or Rainy Summer Days are not a problem; take it indoors without losing a step with our 110,000 sq. ft. facility and pool!

The Freedom Summer Camp CrewOur staff is committed to providing your camper a safe environment, caring and experienced camp counselors, and fun-filled dynamic days. The summer of 2015 will kick off our fourteenth summer camp season! Our site is licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia as Child Day Center, and we are proud to say that our program exceeds many of their established standards.

We hire those with a passion to PLAY! Each counselor on FAFC’s summer camp staff is a well-trained, enthusiastic and motivating individual over the age of 18. Several summer counselors have been with us for one or more seasons and may have even been a previous camper!

Each staff member has been screened through an interview process, received back ground checks and references verified to ensure the safety of your camper. Camp counselors are required to attend an orientation and training prior to the first day of camp. Throughout the training, counselors participate in child development workshops, team building activities, earn a certification in First Aid, CPR and Blood Borne Pathogen and several other exciting and beneficial activities to ensure a successful and safe camp season. Training also offers counselors time to plan programs, work to build a positive group atmosphere and requires staff to embark on finding solutions to challenging situations that may occur throughout the summer and preventative tools to work towards an anti-bullying environment.

“I loved the aspect of team bonding and collaboration with your co-workers. Most companies might not make it an emphasis to promote co-worker

relationships but getting along with and working well with your co-workers is an important aspect of any job

but especially in this setting. The two weeks of training gave us a great opportunity to do that and I ran into

virtually no conflict with other employees,” Freedom Center Camp Counselor.

What’s more fun than playing an interactive video game? Writing one! Video sensing allows students to design and program their own video games and then test them by interacting with the program via webcam. In this Scratch program, students work together to create their own games, art, and musical instruments while exploring coding foundations. Get up and get moving with Engineering for Kids and Scratch: Video Sensing!

The instructor was absolutely fantastic. He was great with the kids and the instruction was all age appropriate. He did a great job of giving each kid individual attention without letting the others get bored or out of control. It was just the kind of class we were looking for!

During the Aerospace Engineering camp, students use the Engineering Design Process to design, create, test, and refine a variety of flying machines. They construct a shock absorbing system designed to protect two marshmallow astronauts in a lunar vehicle, create their own air-powered rockets, and assemble a hot air balloon model that actually takes flight!
