EffIcIENT EcoTEc powEr. Malibu doesn’t skimp on power. The standard ECOTEC® 2.5L DOHC 4-cylinder engine offers an enhanced 186 lb.-ft. of torque, so it provides a great feeling of strength at lower speeds while delivering 196 horsepower (LS, LT and LTZ).

36 Mpg oN THE HIgHwAy. With the 2.5L 4-cylinder engine, Malibu offers an EPA-estimated 36 MPG highway. Advanced fuel-saving technologies include Direct Injection and Variable Valve Timing.

prAcTIcAL powEr. Continuously Variable Valve Timing adjusts airflow in and out of the combustion chamber for better fuel economy.2 With Direct Injection, fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber, which allows for a higher compression ratio and results in better fuel economy. When the Intake Variable Valve Lift Control system is in low-lift mode, the engine pumps only the air it needs for greater performance at lower speeds and offers excellent fuel economy. The system switches to high-lift mode at higher speeds or under heavy loads, providing full output capability for the engine.

INTELLIgENT STop/STArT TEcHNoLogy. With innovative stop/start technology, stopping is what keeps you going. In certain conditions, the 2.5L engine will automatically shut off when the brake is applied and the car comes to a stop. When the brake is released, the engine automatically turns back on. The stop/start technology uses a reinforced Absorbent Glass Mat (AGM) starting battery. There’s a beefed-up tandem-solenoid starter motor and even an auxiliary battery located in the rear of the car. It’s a smart way to save gas2 and improve efficiency. sPaRe TIRe INfoRMaTIoN There is no standard jack or spare tire in the 2015 Chevrolet Malibu LS or 1LT. Your vehicle has a tire sealant and compressor kit that uses a liquid tire sealant to temporarily seal up to a one-quarter-inch puncture in the tread area of the tire. After using the tire inflator kit, it is recommended that you take the tire to an authorized retailer for inspection and repair as soon as possible, but at least within 100 miles of driving. The tire sealant cannot seal and inflate sidewall damage, punctures larger than one-quarter inch, or a tire that has unseated from the wheel. The sealant can only be used on one tire and for one time before its expiration date.
