Join us for the inaugural Bouchie Lake Harvest Festival at which time we will celebrate community and everything that comes with the onset of autumn. Plans thus far include the following activities:

2015 Bouchie - Milburn Lake Community Champion Awards, Pumpkin Pie Contest, Largest Cabbage (Red, White or Green), Longest Carrot, Potato Display, Relish Tasting, Squash Weigh

In!, Apple Pressing Demonstration, Farmers Market , Not for Profit Tradeshow & Exhibits, Living Art Displays, Family / Children Activities - Pumpkin Ring Toss, Face Painting, etc., Corn

Boil…and more!

Please complete the Registration Form if you are planning to register for any of the following. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place ribbons will be awarded for the following categories:

1. Longest Carrot2. Largest Cabbage3. Most Unusual Shaped Fruit or Vegetable4. The Great Squash Weight In5. Pumpkin Pie Contest6. Relish Tasting

Category Descriptions:1. Longest Carrot;2. Largest Cabbage;3. Most Unusual Shaped Fruit or Vegetable Time of Events: 10:30 am

I. To qualify for these categories, fruit and /or veg. must be grown locally within the North Cariboo.II. Please bring your entry to the front desk of the BLCS with completed Registration From by 10:00 am.

Judging will occur at 10:30 am or shortly thereafter. III. We ask that you leave your entries on-site and on-display for the duration of the BL Harvest Festival.

4. The Great Squash Weigh In Time of Event: 11:00 am 2015 is proving to be a wonderful year for Squash! The combination of heat and water has resulted in some pretty impressive fruit! Please bring your entry and registration from to the front desk of the BLCS by 10:00 am if you are planning to enter this competition.

I. To qualify for this event, squash must have been grown in the North Cariboo. II. Squash must be of the Cucurbita species but can be of any type, colour and size - zuchinni, butternut,

spaghetti, mother hubbarb, gourd, pumpkin. III. Entires will be weighed and measured. Ribbons will be awarded for the following: Heaviest, Largest

Diameter, Most Unusual Shape, and Smallest (Least Heavy).

5. Pumpkin Pie Contest: Time of Event: 12:30 pm1. Pie must be made from scratch.2. Best if pastry or shell is made from scratch too. Extra points if it is.3. Extra points if pumpkin used is local and not out of a can. Please bring seeds, washed and cleaned, to roast if you puree your own pumpkin.4. All pies should be accompanied with a card stating name of creator and if there is anything special about the pie.5. All pies must be on-site no later than 2 hours before “show time” (11 am). 6. Although not necessary, please include the recipe if you so wish.Pies will be evaluated using the following criteria:

6. Relish TastingTime of Event: 2 pmRelish (definition): a seasoned sauce that is used to add flavour to other foods and that is made of chopped fruit or vegetables you have a favourite relish? Types of Relish: Chow-Chow, Piccalilli, Chutneys, Pickle Relish Do you simply love relish? Join in some Relish Tasting… If you have a Relish you make, please bring it to share…1. Relish must be made from scratch and primarily be made of local (North Cariboo grown) fruit and /or

vegetables.2. Please label your relish by its type and the ingredients used.s

3 Texture of Pie (smooth, creamy)

3 Flavour (sweet, spicy)

2 Appearance - well presented
