2015 autismwalk recruitment letter

1
In June 2014 three Bendigo men with autism walked as a team for 24 hours to raise funds to support others with autism. This first autismwalk raised $10,000 for Turn A Life Around, providing iPhone, iPod and iPad devices to assist people with autism in enhancing their communication and promoting independence. The next autismwalk in 2015 will be bigger and better – and we are currently recruiting more walkers to the team. autismwalk team members will be diagnosed with autism and, with pre walk training, be able to walk in shifts with a total walking time of 18 hours over the 24 hours of the walk. The walk takes place in Bendigo. Not only will you be helping raise funds to be used to help others with autism, you will be helping to raise the profile of autism and showcasing the abilities of people with autism. autismwalk will attract community and media interest so you need to be prepared to be the ‘centre of attention’. If you are interested please contact Daryl Giles on 0418 522 377 or [email protected] for an Expression of Interest form and start walking! APPLICATIONS CLOSE 12 MARCH!
