Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant. This plant was partly

funded by the Federal Government via the Clean

Technology Program as part of the zero carbon initiative.

The AD plant will reduce Richgro’s carbon emissions and

electricity consumption (via the power grid) by 100%.

The AD plant composts food and organic waste in an

anaerobic (airless) environment. This method not only

removes organic waste from landfill but the by-product

from this process is the production of biogas which will be

used to power turbines. This will in turn produce enough

power to run the entire Richgro facility. This plant is an

integral part of the company’s strategy of diversification

into the waste recovery field, specialising in food and

organic wastes. These wastes are currently dumped into

landfill with obvious environmental effects. In addition

to the production of ‘carbon free’ electricity, Richgro

will have access to an endless supply of materials for

consistent and reliable supply of products.

Our product packaging is a key part of our product offer

and we are continuously working at improving, not only

the look, but the functionality of our packs. A good

example of this is our new Sulphate of Potash 1kg bag

(page 9). It is part of our new generation of waterproof

and re-sealable packaging that we hope, will now make

this product even more appealing to gardeners.

This year Richgro will release a range of new functional

packaging especially in the plant protection category

such as the Killa range and the smaller chemical range

(pages 20-21).

Vertical gardens are one of the hot trends in 2015. The NEW

RICHGRO Vertical Garden Planting Mix has been formulated

using the finest available ingredients. It includes coco peat

to retain moisture, perlite to keep the mix light and trace

elements for plant health. This mix has also been pH adjusted

for optimal growth.

Suitable for most plant varieties including vegetables and

herbs.
