The Niners are home for six of their final 11 regular-season games, all in groups of two, as they prepare for the stretch run of the Conference USA slate. • Charlotte is one of eight programs nationally to boast two freshmen who have started at least one game together in the same backcourt during the 2015-16 campaign. Rookies Grace Hunter and Laia Raventós earned their first start together Jan. 23 at WKU, putting the 49ers in the same category with top-ranked Connecticut among others. • The 49ers also are the only school across the country to have two players, juniors Ciara Gregory and Lefty Webster, rank among the Top 10 nationally for free throw percentage. Gregory’s 93.8 percent effort thus far places her first, while Webster is currently eighth with her 89.8 mark. Both percentages rank the pair one-two in the Conference USA listings. • Senior Kira Gordon enters this week just 27 points of becoming the 21st player in program history to join the 1,000-point club. She tallied 11 points in the Niners’ most recent outing, Jan. 23 at WKU. Her 973 career points are the most by any 49ers player not in the 1,000-point club. • Webster is also making a strong run to join the elite company by the end of the season, raising her career total to 908 through the week- end’s action. She posted 14 against the Lady Toppers and currently stands in 28th place among the all-time Charlotte scoring greats. Only 28 players in school history have netted at least 900 points. • Webster and senior Alexis Alexander each tallied a double-double Jan. 23 at WKU, marking the 16th time under head coach Cara Consuegra (2012-present) in which two or more players had a double-double in the same game. It’s the third contest this season in which the feat has happened, as it also was reached Nov. 23 against Miami (Fla.) and Jan. 7 against Southern Miss. • Gregory continues her climb up the school’s all-time 3-pointers made list, entering this week with 105 on her resume to tie Tonya Phifer (1998-2001) for eighth in program history. As one of 11 players in school history to hit the century mark from behind the arc, Gregory has buried a career-best 45 in 2015-16 and has inched within 98 of the overall program standard of 203, set by Hillary Sigmon last season. • The next game Alexander plays for the 49ers will be No. 100 in her career, making her the 43rd in school history to join the club.

The 10 assists set a new career best, while the 10 points fell one shy of her career high.• Her 10th assist was a no-look, behind-the-back pass to senior Alexis Alexander with 2:29 remaining in the fourth quarter. Alexander then converted the free throw after get-ting fouled to create a three-point play.

Hunter comes to play against nationally-ranked Tigers• Freshman Grace Hunter poured in a career-best 15 points when the 49ers closed the non-conference schedule Dec. 29 at No. 23/RV Missouri.• Hunter hit 7-of-12 field goals, including a 3-pointer, to lead the Charlotte bench in scoring in 26 minutes of action.

Rookie rises on the boards• Freshman guard Grace Hunter became a huge factor on the glass during the GSU Thanksgiving Classic, leading the team with a combined 24 rebounds in the two games.• Hunter started the weekend with a 10-board contest ver-sus Mercer Nov. 28, which would have been a career-best performance had she not come back the following day with 14 caroms against host Georgia State.• Eighteen of her 24 boards (75.0 percent) were on the de-fensive glass, including 10 Nov. 29 against the Panthers.• The next closest 49ers player in the rebounding category was senior Alexis Alexander, who hauled in 11 during the event.

Hunter doubles up in front of the kids• Grace Hunter continues to elevate her game and she turned in the best single-game performance of her career to-date Jan. 7 when she tallied her first career double-double in the 80-59 Education Day victory over Southern Miss.• Hunter hit 5-of-6 (83.3 percent) field goals and 2-of-4 free throws for 12 points, while grabbing 10 rebounds to share game-high honors on the glass. She added a career-best three steals in a career-high tying 26 minutes.

Gregory earns league mention• Junior Ciara Gregory has been named to the Nov. 16 Con-ference USA Honor Roll, a new weekly honor started this sea-son.• The accolade goes to the runner-up each week for the league’s player-of-the-week award.• Gregory was the first recipient of the plaudit in 2015-16 after averaging 21.5 points in the first-two games against Ball State and Robert Morris. Her average and 43 total points ranked as the highest among players across the conference through Sunday’s action.

Alexander shares league mention• Senior Alexis Alexander was the co-recipient of the Dec. 14 Conference USA Honor Roll selection after turning in a dou-ble-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds to lead the 49ers to an 89-61 triumph over College of Charleston Dec. 8.• Alexander shared the award with WKU’s Tashia Brown af-ter her game-best performance. The double-double was her second of the season and fourth of her career.• It marked the first time of her career in which she has post-ed multiple double-doubles in the same season.

Alexander comes to play against Colonials• Senior forward Alexis Alexander put together the best game of her career to-date when she buried 12-of-15 field goals and 6-of-8 free throws for a career-best 30 points in the Nov. 15 victory over Robert Morris.• Alexander also topped the Niners with eight rebounds and tied for the team lead with two steals in playing a team-high tying 30 minutes.

Alexander’s 30 points puts her in rarified air• When Alexis Alexander netted her 30 points Nov. 15 against Robert Morris, it put her into elite company in various school record books.• She moved into a second-place tie for most points scored by a 49ers player in Halton Arena history. Only the 35 netted by Tonya Phifer against DePaul Jan. 28, 2001, ranks higher.

This season, the Niners played contests Nov. 13 and 15.

Record-breaking from deep• Junior Ciara Gregory began the season Nov. 13 with a ca-reer night against Ball State, tallying a career-high 27 points, including a then-career best five 3-pointers made (tied at Elon, Nov. 19), leading the 49ers to the 72-66 victory.• Gregory netted 14 points in the second quarter alone, fea-turing four triples, to match the Cardinals’ team output during the 10-minute frame.• She reached the 20-point plateau for the first time in her career, while converting a career-high 8-of-8 at the foul line for a career-best performance at the charity stripe.• Gregory added a game-high tying four assists in 31 min-utes in the starting role.

Double double-doubles against the ’Canes• Charlotte had two of its players, seniors Kira Gordon and Alexis Alexander, each post a double-double when the 49ers played host to Miami (Fla.) Nov. 23.• The feat was matched on Education Day, Jan. 7, when Gor-don and freshman Grace Hunter each had a double-double in the triumph over Southern Miss.• It also happened Jan. 23 at WKU when Alexander and ju-nior Lefty Webster posted the double-doubles in C-USA ac-tion.• Overall, during the five-year tenure of head coach Cara Consuegra, there have been 16 games with Charlotte having at least two players record a double-double.• The Niners own a 10-6 record in the 16 games during the Consuegra era in which the feat has been accomplished.• Eleven of the 16 contests have been played inside Halton Arena, including the two most recently against Miami (Fla.) Nov. 23 and against Southern Miss Jan. 7 this season.

Freshman dazzles against Miami (Fla.)• Freshman point guard Laia Raventós put her superb ball-handling skills to work Nov. 23 when the Niners played host to Miami (Fla.).• She finished with six assists, many of which were jaw dropping, with only one turnover against the ’Canes.

Gordon finding range from beyond the arc• Senior Kira Gordon has transformed her game over the last two seasons to add a dimension she did not have as a fresh-man or sophomore, shooting from behind the 3-point arc.• Gordon dropped in a career-best seven 3-pointers in 2014-15 but has already exceeded that effort this season.• She drained a career-high three 3-pointers against Miami (Fla.) Nov. 23, while attempting a career-best four triples in the matchup with the Hurricanes.• Gordon had buried two 3-pointers against Robert Morris Nov. 15, her first game with multiple triples as each of her sev-en during her junior year happened in seven different games.

Gordon countdown I is over• Kira Gordon made her 100th game appearance Nov. 30 when the 49ers faced Georgia State in Atlanta as part of the GSU Thanksgiving Classic.

Alexander reaches 100 career games, as well• Senior Alexis Alexander became the second member of this year’s team to reach 100 career games played, when she hit the milestone Jan. 28 against FIU inside Halton Arena.• With her and Gordon both joining the club this year, they have become the 42nd and 43rd members in program history to play in at least 100 career games.

Gordon countdown is on, part II• Senior Kira Gordon is also quickly approaching another milestone in her Charlotte career, as she is just 27 points away from reaching 1,000.• She concluded the GSU Thanksgiving Classic with 842 points to her credit, which featured an early season ca-reer-high 24 against Miami (Fla.) Nov. 23 inside Halton Arena.• Gordon’s current 973 points currently place her in 21st in school history, slipping past Julia Burton (1990-93)’s 966.• She has scored the most points by anyone in school history not to reach the 1,000-point mark -- yet.• There have been 20 all-time 1,000-point scorers in pro-gram history, the last of whom was Hillary Sigmon (2012-15) who tallied 1,178 points and ended her career ranked 16th. Sigmon hit her milestone against UAB Jan. 22, 2015, inside Halton Arena.

Webster making a charge to reach 1,000 as well• Junior Lefty Webster has always been a scoring threat for the 49ers and this season is no different, as she currently is averaging 13.6 points per game.• She is currently in 28th place with her sights set on Sheri

Williams (1990-91), who had 919 points as a Niner.

Picking up steam in the second and third quarters• With the switch to the four-quarter format this season, Charlotte has found the second and third periods to be its most beneficial thus far.• The 35 points in the second quarter against Robert Morris Nov. 19 signify the highest scoring quarter thus far for Charlotte.• A total of 351 points have been posted in the third quarter for the Niners thus far, the highest scoring frame to date.

Two 49ers play the max• For the first time this season, Charlotte had at least one player not step off the floor during a game when both Kira Gordon and Lefty Webster each played the full 40 minutes Jan. 9 against Louisiana Tech.• The pair become the first Niners to play a 40-minute con-test since Webster and Ayanna Holmes did so at Southern Miss Feb. 21, 2015.

Olley gives boost off bench; ties career best• Junior Kenya Olley turned in the best of game of her sea-son Jan. 21 at Marshall when she hit 7-of-11 field goals to match her career high with 14 points at Marshall.• Olley’s seven field goals made and 11 field goals attempt-ed also equaled previous career bests, all set previously Feb. 19, 2015, at Louisiana Tech.• She tallied 12-straight points at one point for the 49ers, spanning the first and second quarters. It’s the longest indi-vidual scoring streak for any Charlotte player this season.

McKoy gets on the board• Redshirt freshman Mintrell McKoy netted her first colle-giate points Jan. 9 against Louisiana Tech with a bucket in the second quarter.• Her turn-around jumper in the lane at 3:00 gave the 49ers a 27-25 edge and a lead they would not relinquish the re-mainder of the contest against the Lady Techsters.• Her points came on her only field goal attempt of the matchup, while she added a pair of rebounds in three min-utes.

Niners go deep often• Three-pointers have proven to be an important part of the 49ers’ offense thus far and the Niners provided their best effort behind the arc with 12 triples Dec. 8 in the 89-61 win against College of Charleston.• Charlotte connected on 10 3-pointers in the season-open-ing 72-66 victory over Ball State Nov. 13.• The Niners then added 11 from behind the arc in the road opener at Elon Nov. 19.• Charlotte continued the solid showings in 3-point territory with 10 more long-range bombs Dec. 20 at Davidson.• The 49ers have made at least 10 trifectas five times under head coach Cara Consuegra, two of which came in the two most recent season openers. Charlotte drained 13 from be-hind the arc at Liberty Nov. 14, 2014.• Overall, the Niners have made double-digit treys in one game 20 times through the 10 at Davidson Dec. 20 in the 99-88 triumph.

Webster doubles up• Junior Preseason All-Conference USA selection Lefty Web-ster tallied the first double-double of the campaign by any Niners player and the third overall in her career with 18 points and a game-best 11 rebounds Nov. 13 in the season opener against Ball State.• The double-double against the Cardinals represents the first in her career to come against an opponent other than Florida Atlantic, and subsequently, the first in non-conference action.

Alexander doubles against preseason favorite• Senior Alexis Alexander had a monster game at Middle Tennessee Jan. 14, posting her third double-double of the season and fifth of her career with 26 points on 12-of-15 field goals and 10 rebounds to lead all players in both categories.

Freshmen make debuts• First-year players Grace Hunter and Laia Raventós made their collegiate debuts in the season opener Nov. 13 against Ball State.• Raventós garnered a starting role, finishing with two points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals in 24 minutes.• Hunter came off the bench to contribute three points and four rebounds in 17 minutes.

Another debut• Redshirt freshman Mintrell McKoy stepped onto the col-legiate court for the first time Nov. 29 at Georgia State at the GSU Thanksgiving Classic after missing all of last season due to injury.• McKoy finished with a blocked shot in six minutes during the second quarter.

Freshmen duo garners starting role together• Charlotte’s two sensational freshmen, Grace Hunter and Laia Raventós, were members of the starting five for the first time to-gether Jan. 23 at WKU.• It marked the fourth (Hunter) and 15th (Raventós) overall starts of the campaign for them, individually.• The pair is one of eight freshmen guard tandems across the country to have started at least one game together this season, based on research conducted by the UMES media relations office.
