His research agenda currently focuses on sustainability and welfare economics. He has a background in policy-making, as a former aide in the French Parliament (1999-2000) and for the French prime minister (2000-2002). He presently teaches at Sciences-Po, in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (School of Engineering) at Stanford, in the Bing Overseas Program at Stanford University in Paris and in La Sorbonne (College des hautes études européennes). He was Professor invited in the University of Montréal (2010) and Visiting Professor at Harvard University (Fall 2013). He was a visiting scholar at NYU (2003), Columbia University (2002, 2004 and 2007), and at Harvard University Center for European studies (2005-2006, 2009-2010, Fall 2013). He has authored or edited fiſteen books and over a hundred scientific articles. Éloi Laurent holds a Ph.D. in economics (highest honors) and a master’s degree from the University Paris-Dauphine in international economics and graduated summa cum laude from Sciences Po (political science and economics). Dr. Éloi Laurent is a senior economist at OFCE (Sciences-Po Center for economic research, Paris). His research agenda currently focuses on sustainability and welfare economics. He has a background

Eloi LAURENT

Dr. Éloi Laurent est économiste senior à l’OFCE (le centre de recherche en économie de Sciences Po Paris). Son programme de recherche se concentre actuellement sur les questions de soutenabilité environnementale

et d’économie du bien-être. Il possède une expérience dans l’élaboration des politiques en tant qu’attaché parlementaire à l’Assemblée Nationale (1999-2000) et comme collaborateur au Cabinet du Premier ministre (2000-2002).

Il enseigne actuellement à Sciences-Po, ainsi qu’au Département de génie civil et environnemental (School of Engineering) à Stanford et dans le programme d’échange international “Bing” à l’Université de Stanford à Paris et à La Sorbonne (Collège des Hautes Etudes Européennes). Il a été professeur invité à l’Université de Montréal (2010) et à l’Université de Harvard (automne 2013). Il a été chercheur invité à NYU (2003), l’Université de Columbia (2002, 2004 et 2007), et au Centre d’études européennes de l’Université d’Harvard (2005-2006, 2009-2010, automne 2013). Il a écrit ou édité une quinzaine de livres et plus d’une centaine d’articles scientifiques.

Éloi Laurent est titulaire d’un doctorat d’économie (mention très bien) et titulaire d’un master de l’Université Paris -Dauphine en économie internationale. Il est diplômé summa cum laude de Sciences Po (science politique et économie).
