Event ObjectivesSouthwest Soul Circuit End of the Year Gala

• To produce a formal concert event to celebrate the commitment of Southwest Soul Circuit fans, volunteers, singers & musicians in 2014.

• To show appreciation for the support given by community businesses and community service organizations in 2014.

• To launch the “Indie Soul Movement” initiative for 2015.

Event OverviewThe 1st Annual Southwest Soul Circuit (SWSC) “End of the Year” Gala, is a red-carpet, black tie event which celebrates the accomplishments of it’s volunteers, staff, singers and musicians along with SWSC fans. This Gala will have a Pre-Show VIP Reception with complimentary valet, food and drinks for VIPs, plus a 90 minute concert featuring Independent Recording Artists and musicians who are a part of the SWSC team. Independent recording artists, Kevin Hamilton and Tanishia, will be joined on stage by amazing new artists singing Contemporary Soul, Jazz and R&B music, and will unveil the “Indie Soul Movement” which will emerge throughout the Southwest starting in the 1st quarter of 2015.

Each year, SWSC produces dozens of events from Dallas to San Diego, and utilizes freelance musicians, part-time staff and volunteers to render concerts, festivals and studio records for independent recording artists. In 2014, our musicians, staff and volunteers have contributed to the production of many events such as:

•Tucson Meet Your Soul (as part of the Tucson Meet Yourself Folklife Festival)•Soul Music at 2nd Saturdays (a monthly live music event in downtown Tucson, Arizona)•The Mulcahy YMCA’s “Essence of Soul Fundraiser”•Soul Sundays at Elliott’s on Congress (a monthly series featuring Kevin & Tanishia singing Contemporary Soul music and showcasing new recording artists)•many more...

SWSC also is a “Producer for Hire” firm which provides a “One Stop Shop”, turnkey production service to outside agencies. Businesses who use this service take advantage of SWSC’s event coordination expertise of various event elements and staff members, it’s event production expertise through lighting, sound and staging, and it’s entertainment services which provides skilled musicians and singers. Companies also take advantage of marketing and advertising services through Southwest Soul Circuit Magazine.

Event ProducersThe Southwest Soul Circuit (SWSC) is a music production business specializing in:•Concerts•Festivals •Studio recordings

Our signature events are two day, family friendly concerts with national recording artists. These artists agree to participate in a SWSC Community building event which benefits a selected neighborhood in each tour city.

SWSC is headquartered in the Soul of downtown Tucson, Arizona and operates from Garden Level Studios. Co-founded by Kevin & Tanishia Hamilton in 2006, SWSC produces/promotes concerts in Dallas, Albuquerque, El Paso/Las Cruces, Sierra Vista, Tucson, Phoenix/Mesa & San Diego. Our mission is to uplift, inspire, and entertain our Southwest community by combining quality music and community service. Over our 8 years of service to the Southwest, SWSC has provided professional services to various agencies:

• SWSC provides promotional services through partnerships with various arts & entertainment businesses and non-profits such as the Fox Tucson Theatre, The Rialto Theatre, UA Presents, Arizona Theatre Company and Broadway in Tucson. SWSC has co-promotional events with Roberta Flack, BB King, Lauryn Hill, Darlene Love, Mavis Staples, Ramsey Lewis, Arturo Sandoval and countless other acts.

• SWSC provided musical arrangement services for Patti LaBelle in 2013.• Kevin & Tanishia’s performance credits are vast in number and variety opening for or singing with artists such as Roberta Flack, Lyle Lovette and

Sam Moore from the legendary Soul Duo “Sam and Dave”.• SWSC has also produced over 50 festivals in Downtown Tucson community as part of 2nd Saturdays Downtown Urban Street Festival, Tucson

Meet Your Soul and various other festival events.• Kevin and Tanishia provide curriculum development services and teaches at various charter & private schools. They also provide youth

development services to organizations such as the City of Tucson’s KIDCO program through their affiliation with Garden Youth Development Project.

• SWSC concert production credits include the Arizona Centennial Celebration at the Fox Tucson Theatre, Roberta Flack live at the Fox Theatre, and hundreds of concerts throughout the Southwest.

Event Producers

Kevin is responsible for strengthening the impact and scope of work for the Southwest Soul Circuit in order to meet the needs of citizens of all ages throughout the Southwest by planning events, teaching music classes and performing at events and on projects which have cultural enrichment and performing arts elements.

!As a singer, Kevin’s vocal music experience has spanned the full gamut, from singing Gospel music in the church choir to performing as a principle performer in (3) major operas as a classically trained baritone. Kevin started playing piano while working in the US Air Force as a F-15 fighter jet aviation electronics technician. With years of international experience, Kevin provides a solid foundation for growth within the Southwest Soul Circuit.!

As a recording artist, Kevin plays almost all of the instruments in the studio to create unique, musically sound compositions. He is poised to create a musical catalog of over 1000 compositions for his publishing company, Eclectic Soul Music.

Tanishia is responsible for strategic planning while managing the operations, staff and events of the Southwest Soul Circuit.! She is accountable for management of all facets of production and promotions to include finance, staff/volunteer, marketing campaign, talent acquisitions and the like all while performing as an Independent Recording Artist.!

Obtaining an MBA with an emphasis in information technology, Tanishia learned her leadership and management skills as a pioneer member of an IT leadership development program with a top aerospace/defense company during her time there over several years. Serving as the world-wide face of diversity for this company, Tanishia transitioned into her new career by co-founding the Southwest Soul Circuit.

As a performer, Tanishia started singing at an early in the church with her father as her main influence. She started her career as a performer shortly after marrying Kevin Hamilton in 2006.! With a rare angelic voice, Tanishia captivates audiences with her natural delivery.!

Our core audience is the 25-54 year old adult of various races and ethnicities who enjoy an above average quality of life. These individuals enjoy concerts, stage plays, comedy shows and special events in the downtown area. Our concerts were attended by approximately 30% Whites, 30% Hispanic & Latinos and 30% Blacks with the remainder spread out among Native Americans & Asians.

The Fox Theatre recently conducted its own study of its audience. !In one year (2012), The Fox attracted 63,591 audience members spending $3.4M in the downtown area, with $1.9M being spent by concert goers. Of that $1.9M, 60.7% went towards ticket sales ($1,153,323).** 77% of attendees who regularly attend the Fox Theatre reported that they live more that 5 miles away from the Fox Tucson Theatre, which shows the drawing power of the Fox Theatre in the downtown market.

Southwest Soul Circuit seeks to become an institution for world-class entertainment, a resource and avenue to train community singers and musicians and a company that generates revenue which makes a solid impact in the lives of people in the Tucson Community

Investment!in Downtown Tucson supports our arts and cultural institutions which in turn support investment in the region. !In 2010, Americans for the Arts conducted a study of the economic impact of non-profit arts and culture organizations and their audiences in Pima County. !There were 1,900,000 people in the audiences of the many shows and performances tracked, generating an estimated $87.7M in total economic activity. !(Americans for the Arts report, 2010)
