ONE UNIVERSITY - TWO CAMPUSES: No matter what you

are seeking in a college setting, you can find it at one of Pace's two different locations. Whichever campus you choose, you will

PLEASANTVILLE/BRIARCLIFF -- About forty minutes from

the New York City campus, these two suburban locations, minutes apart, are administered as one campus. In addition to a

serene setting, the campus is noted

for its Environmental Center and

stables complete with goats and sheep. Tennis courts, outdoor

basketball, sand volleyball courts,

GFC Field, and Willcox Gymnasium provide ample opportunities for athletics, and recreation. In

keeping with its commitment to its students, community and

quality campus life, Pace has initiated the Pleasantville Master Plan, which will include the construction of three new residence

halls and an expansion of the athletic facilities with the move of

all intercollegiate athletics onto the Pleasantville campus by 2015.

NEW YORK CITY -- The New York City campus, located in

lower Manhattan, offers the best of everything that makes New

York special. A short walk from Wall Street and the famous South Street Seaport, our New York campus stands across the

street from historic City Hall. Nearby public transportation

makes commuting fast and easy. The 650-seat Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts, located on campus, is the site of

acclaimed student productions, concerts and performers

including the Joffrey Ballet, as well as the new home of the celebrated National Actors Theater.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES: Students with a creative

flair and a desire to communicate have no problem finding an outlet; Pace sponsors two newspapers, two literary magazines,

two radio stations, and two yearbooks. Plays, concerts, and

performances by professionals and amateurs also enhance student life. There is also an active Student Government

Association on each campus.

The New York and Pleasantville campuses each sponsor

several fraternities and sororities. While the emphasis is on good times and bonding, these organizations also put their

energies to good work by sponsoring community service

projects. Pace offers the opportunity to participate in athletics, either varsity or intramural. The Setters compete in 12 varsity

sports in NCAA Division II and will expand to 14 with field

hockey and women’s lacrosse opening play in 2015.

Henry “Hank” Manning, a four-year starter and former captain of the Pace University baseball team, enters his fourteenth season as the head baseball coach for Pace University. He took over the head coaching duties in May 2000, one season after returning to his alma mater as the assistant coach.

Coach Manning is coming off one of the most successful seasons in pro-gram history as he guided the 2013 Setters to their second most wins in school history with a 33-17 mark.

The Setters were Co-Champions of the Northeast-10 Southwest Division, finishing tied with the University of New Haven with a 15-6 division record. Coach Manning’s team was selected to 2013 NCAA Division II Tournament as an at-large bid as the #5 seed this past spring. It was the first trip to the NCAA's under Head Coach Henry Manning and only Pace's second appearance in the DII Tournament with their last trip coming in 1985. The Setters won their first game in the tournament as they defeated Saint Thomas Aquinas 3-0. Three players were named to the NCAA East Region All-Tournament team in Bobby Horn, Jon Kovel and Brandon Martineson.

Pace has four NE-10 All-Conference selections in 2013 in James Pjura (First Team), Charlie Galasso (Second Team), Martineson (Third Team) and Michael Viegas (All-Rookie Team) garnering top honors. Pjura went on to be honored on the Daktronics and National Collegiate Baseball Writers’ All-East Region Team. Two of Coach Manning’s players were named to the NE-10 All-Academic Team in Horn and Martineson, while Martineson was selected to the Capital One CoSIDA Academic District 1 Team.

Coach Manning was named the Northeast-10 Conference Coach of the Year for the 2012 baseball season. The Setters finished the season with a 29-19 overall record and won the NE-10 Southwest Division title with a 17-4 division record. The Setters improved by 13 wins from the 2011 year to 2012. Starting pitchers Michael Tamburino and Neil Pezzullo were named to the NE-10 Second Team, while outfielder Patrick Chaputian and designated hitter James Pjura were selected to the Third Team.

For his career with the Setters, Coach Manning has posted a career mark of 297-339-3 in 12 seasons as head coach. During his tenure at Pace, Manning has coached nine players that were eventually drafted by a Major League Baseball team. In 2008, Matt Rigoli and Jack Cawley were both selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2008 MLB Draft. Rigoli was taken in the 21st round, while Cawley was selected in the round 34. They joined an elite class of former Pace players drafted into the professional ranks, bringing Coach Manning’s total to nine players drafted during his tenure as head coach. The previous group of Setters that were selected in the Major League Baseball draft consist of Matt Arburr (2007 St. Louis Cardinals, 17th round), David Qualben (2006 Houston Astros, 7th round), Bryan Hallberg (2006 Houston Astros, 12th round), Earl Oakes

(2006 Oakland Athletics, 24th round), Matt Reilly (2006 Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, 27th round), Pat Stanley, (2004 Colorado Rockies, 16th Round) and Mike Bohlander (2002 Chicago White Sox, 27th Round).

Prior to coming back to Pace, Manning enjoyed a nine-year professional career in baseball as both a player and coach. As a player, Manning was a catcher in the Chicago White Sox organization from 1991-1995, reaching the AAA level in 1994. He spent half of the 1995 season playing for the Winnipeg Goldeyes in the independent Northern League where he earned All-Star honors. He finished his playing career in 1996 after a brief stint with the Boston Red Sox organization. In 1997, Manning's first coaching job was managing the Johnstown Steal in the Frontier League. There, he guided the team to the best overall record and lost in the championship series. He then spent two years as the Assistant General Manager/Coach of the New Jersey Jackals, where he helped build a team that won the Northern League title in the Jackals' inaugural season.

As a Setter, Manning ranks among the all-time leaders in hits, doubles, home runs, RBI and runs scored. As a freshman he led the team with a .373 average, and had his best year in 1988 when he hit .385 with 7 home runs. He played two years in the highly regarded Cape Cod Summer League for the Brewster Whi te Caps ( '88) and Chatham A 's ( ' 89) . Manning holds a BA degree in Mathematics. He and his wife Kristen reside in New Jersey with their daughter Julia and son Matthew.

COACHING STAFF

GRISHA DAVIDA - PITCHING COACH

Coach Davida enters in his fourth season in his second tour as the Pace Baseball pitching coach, with his first tour being from 1985 to 1990. Since his return, he guided the Setter pitching staff to the fifth best ERA in 2012 with a 3.37 mark.

In in his first tour, he was instrumental in developing eight Setter players that signed professional contracts. Under his tutelage, the 1985 Setter pitching Staff led the country (DII) in ERA with a 2.97.

A Brooklyn native, Coach Davida attended Yonkers HS and Concordia College, before being signed to a professional contract with the Chicago Cubs. He then became an instructor on the opening staff at the World Famous Doyle Baseball School of Winter Haven FL. Davida was an area scout for the San Diego Padres from 1980-85 and was part of the '84 National League Champions scouting staff.

He also coached at Columbia University. At Pace, he will handle the pitching and defensive instruction.

Coach Davida lives in New Jersey with his wife Linda and has two daughters, Nicole and Kristin.

PETE RAIMONDI - BENCH COACH

Pete Raimondi joins the Setters for his eighth season as an assistant coach. He will assist in recruiting and fundraising for Pace as well as serving as a bench coach.

Originally, from Queens N.Y., Coach Raimondi played his high school ball at St. Francis Prep (Alma Mater to Vince Lombardi & Joe Torre), in Brooklyn, N.Y. He continued his playing career at Fordham University and played infield. After a short stint at Fordham, Raimondi played and coached Inter-service ball for the United State Marine Corps, until the Iranian hostage situation forced a mandatory alert status. Upon being discharged from the Marine Corps as a Captain, he then played two years in the industrial semi-pro leagues in Shinagawa, and Ebisu, Japan.

Raimondi played summer ball with organizations throughout Long Island, Brooklyn, and Queens including the L.I. Mets and Brooklyn–Queens Silk Sox.

Raimondi has coached in many leagues at the high school and summer college level in the Brooklyn-Queens alliances. He has also coached in the ACBL with the NY Generals organization.

Raimondi also coached Tier I (“A”) junior hockey within the NY Ranger organization, and won a state championship at the high school level.

Raimondi has two sons who both played athletics on the collegiate level; Len, an electrical engineer in New York City, and Pete Jr., a lawyer living in Florida.

THE PACE STORY:

Pace is a university whose resources have played an essential role in the realization of individual dreams of achievement and whose mission is voiced in its motto: Opportunitas.

Founded in 1906 by the Pace brothers as a business school for men and women who aspired to a better life, Pace Institute began its transformation into a modern university, with emphasis on the liberal arts and sciences, under Robert Pace 42 years later. With dynamic leadership and fiscally sound management, Pace has grown into one of the largest universities in New York State, with a multi-million dollar physical plant, an endowment of over $100 million and a reputation for excellent teaching and talented, ambitious graduates.

Pace is a comprehensive university with five schools and one college that offers a wide range of academic and professional programs for a large, diverse population of more than 13,000 students in for-credit programs, and in affiliated offerings. Through its Lubin School of Business, Pace continues to build its reputation for excellence in business education. The Lienhard School of Nursing, the School of Law, the School of Education and the Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems are more recent responses to the needs of the New York City and Westchester communities for strong professional schools to prepare a well-educated workforce.

The University's decision in 1948 to develop a college of arts and sciences as both an autonomous academic unit and a foundation for the undergraduate core curriculum has strengthened and enriched the educational experience of Pace students and provided an ongoing source of intellectual enrichment to the University. The Dyson College of Arts and Sciences is central to the intellectual life of Pace, to shaping academic priorities, and to providing ethical, humanistic and scientific principles upon which lives and careers are founded.

At the heart of Pace's academic values is an historic commitment to excellence in teaching, as manifested by small classes, an emphasis on skill development and critical thinking, special tutoring and support services, and academic advising. Academic experiences at Pace emphasize teaching from both a practical and theoretical perspective, drawing upon the expertise of faculty who balance academic preparation with professional experience to bring a unique dynamic to the classroom.

While the primary emphasis of the institution is on excellent teaching, the university supports and encourages scholarly activity to ensure the intellectual vitality of the faculty. While much of the work has had professional application, Pace particularly invites scholarship that directly relates to the classroom experience and involves students in the research process.

Pace has always had a student-centered focus and is committed to providing access to those who range widely in age, ethnicity, socio-economic background and academic preparation. Increasing amounts of institutional financial aid to help students meet the growing costs of a private education; locations in New York City and Westchester County; evening, weekend and summer scheduling; and special counseling and academic support services are ways in which the university has sought to enhance the accessibility and opportunities of a Pace education.

A significant tradition of Pace University is its strong relationship with business, civic and community organizations. Offering special programs and services to neighboring institutions and corporate partners, the university gains strength in return from these partnerships and derives benefits for its students from the networks these linkages provide.

HISTORY OF PACE UNIVERSITY:

Founded in 1906 by the Pace brothers, Homer and Charles, The Pace Institute was a business school for men and women who aspired to a better life.

Homer and Charles Pace borrowed $600 to rent a classroom and office in the old Tribune building in lower Manhattan to teach 10 men and three women the principles of accounting and business law. That building once stood where the Pace Plaza building stands today.



Two years later, because of the overwhelming success of the Pace School of Accountancy, the Pace brothers relocated classes to the nearby Hudson Terminal complex. Another move to the Transportation Building at 225 Broadway took place in 1927 in response to continued growth.

In 1948, Pace Institute was approved for college status by the New York Board of Regents. Academic expansion forced yet another move to 41 Park Row in 1951, and two years later Pace College received authorization from the State Education Department to grant the bachelor of arts degree.

Classes began on the Pleasantville campus in 1963. The year before, the Marks Hall building was signed over to the College by Pace Trustee Wayne Marks, President of General Foods, and his wife, Helen. Soon after, Dyson Hall was constructed, named in honor of alumnus, Trustee and benefactor, Charles H. Dyson. Willcox Hall was named for Trustee and benefactor Byron Willcox.

In 1965, the Undergraduate School of Business Administration, the School of Arts and Sciences and the School of Education were established. The year following, the School of Nursing was founded and was later named after alumnus, Trustee and benefactor Gustav Lienhard. In December 1966, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the Civic Center building, Vice President Hubert Humphrey promised to teach at Pace and conducted a Scholar-in-Residence seminar at the New York City campus.

Finally, in 1973, the State Education Department approved Pace College's petition for university status. Two years later, the College of White Plains consolidated with Pace University, and the School of Law was established in 1976. The assets of Briarcliff College were acquired in 1977. In the years following, an international education center was opened by IBM Corporation, NYNEX opened a center and the Hastings Center moved its operations to the Briarcliff site. In 1983, the School of Computer Science and Information Systems was established as its own entity. In 1997, Pace purchased the World Trade Institute, a leading-edge provider of international training programs.

Pace University today is a diverse institution with over 13,000 students. For 100 years, bright, motivated and talented men and women have walked out of Pace's many doors, degrees in hand, and have ventured into the world prepared for the challenges of each passing decade. Every year, curriculum offerings in schools and colleges are modified to meet the changing needs of ambitious and knowledgeable students.

Throughout the years since 1906, Pace has grown along with the talents of those who comprise what is affectionately known as the "Pace community." The Pace tradition is something in which we can all take pride.

1996 - Lubin School of Business receives AACSB accreditation

1997 - Pace purchases the World Trade Institute, which provides training in international business and trade, from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey

1998 - Pace cited in Crain's New York Business as one of the top five sources for technology degree recipients in New York City

1999 - Dyson Family challenge completed one year ahead of schedule, raising $21.1 which is $1.1 million over goal

1999 - Pace Alumni Network (PANet) established to connect alumni worldwide

2001 - Pace establishes the Center for Downtown New York

2002 - The Ann and Alfred Goldstein Health, Fitness, and Recreation Center opens on the Pleasantville campus

2002 - First Pace students win prestigious Fulbright Fellowships

2003 - The Pforzheimer Honors College accepts its first class of students.

2003 - Pace hosts the CNBC/Wall Street Journal 2003 Democratic Candidate Presidential Debate

2005 - Verizon CEO and alumnus Ivan G. Seidenberg ’81 gives Pace $15 million, the largest gift in its history; in honor of this gift the School of Computer Science and Information Systems is named after him

2006 - Pace celebrates its centennial

For 50 years, Pace University has been educating students in Westchester County, offering a rigorous academic experience in the midst of a rural campus environment. A broad professional curriculum and a thriving local business community have offered students exceptional opportunities for hands-on experiential learning and career development while offering students the close proximity to New York City.

Today, we embark on a campaign to enhance the student experience by transforming our Pleasantville campus. Part of this plan will be to consolidate our operations from Briarcliff onto a unified and renovated Pleasantville campus. This move will bring all of our stu-dent support operations onto one campus, improve student services, and reduce both our costs and environmental impact.

Athletics: Competitive Facilities

The athletics program at Pace will be one of the principal beneficiaries of the new plan. Upon the completion of this plan, University Athletics will enter a new era of achievement and progress.

• Upgrade the multipurpose field with artificial turf, new seats, and lighting

• New turf and lighting for the baseball field

• Creation of a new softball field

• Construction of a new field house at the south end of the multipurpose field complete with fully-equipped weight rooms, locker rooms, offices, a sports medicine facility, and meeting spaces

These additions will equip our student-athletes with the facilities to train and compete at an even higher level, enhance our recruiting efforts, and raise the visibility of our athletics programs. Pace alumni, parents, neighbors, and community members will benefit as the new facilities will be welcoming to all.
