Cattle Enthusiasts, Welcome to the second annual Ohlde Advantage Focus on the Female Offering. What a year 2014 has been, cattle prices are steady and continue to climb as they have done over the last 3 to 4 years. The forecast isn’t much different with predictions of $5000 commercial bred heifers predicted in the next 2 years and nearly every class of cattle to be traded at levels never to be repeated again. It’s indeed a wild ride and we’re all happy to be part of it.

For those of you that know our Ohlde family, there are a lot of us scattered throughout the hills and plains of North Central Kansas. We would venture further to say that well over 90% of the Ohlde derived family would be involved in some sort of production agriculture from the cattle business, both beef and dairy, to seed production and everything in between and around the broad scope of agriculture. We readily give credit to cousin; Tim and his wife Trudy, for making the Ohlde name a household name by those in the production beef business. They have built a tremendous genetic base that has been used and sampled for well over 3 decades nation wide and around the globe. These genetically superior, forage endeavored Angus cattle are flat out useful, profitable, and predictable. Myself, Dwight and Josh Ohlde, along with Lee Holtmeier, like many others, realized the true vale of these cattle and decided to multiply success and increase profit margins by running more pounds to the acre and the only way that this could turn from imagination to fact was to trudge forward and forward we did. Lee has been a part of the Power Plus bunch of Oklahoma as a genetic contributor and needs no introduction in Kansas. Dwight and Josh have incorporated a bit of Maine and SimGenetic back on their cow base with much success. I also elected to take advantage of Heterosis myself in the last couple years, however nothing ever seems to taint the Ohlde genetic based cow. She is a matron of reliability and substance with out question.
