MESQUITE SENIOR GAMES... Your Athletic Encore Now in our 13th year, the Mesquite Se-nior Games invites female and male athletes, age 50 and better, to compete in a variety of events against age-group peers. Events take place in April. We also host the Mesquite
Winter Classic and CAN/AM softball tourna-ments in October and November/December. See schedule for this year’s offerings and event pages for details.
Event hosts are The City of Mesquite (Basket-ball Skills, Fitness Walk, Long Drive, Softball, Tennis and Road Race), Hidden Valley Ranch (Target Pistol), Sun City Mesquite (Bocce Ball, Bridge and Pickleball), Virgin River Casino (Bowl-ing) and Virgin Valley High School/Clark County School District (Track and Field).
Unless specified, all competition and scoring is male/female within 5-year age groups (50-54 and up). Competition age equals age at year-end (i.e., if your 65th birthday occurs at any time dur-ing the year, you compete as 65 for the entire year).
Our mission is to promote the city of Mesquite
and healthy fun and wellness through senior athletics. The Mesquite Senior Games is a non-profit organization funded completely through sponsors, donations and registration/event fees.

Remembering Betty Ann Pati
Most Mesquite Senior Games folks do not real-ize how much of what we do was accomplished behind the scenes by Betty Ann Pati who left this world November 30, 2013. With Frank at the helm, Betty Ann was the powerhouse who managed phone inquiries, fielded questions, forwarded emails to the event chairs, assisted in preparing mailings, all while maintaining a cheer-ful demeanor and generous heart.
Betty Ann talked to many visitors at her 21 table about Frank’s leadership of Senior Softball and The Mesquite Senior Games. Frank received many calls each year from her promotion of Frank’s work. This ambassador will be forever missed.
In the early years of the games that started in 2002, Betty Ann ran the concession stand at the softball tournaments that were scheduled year round. This was a major source of fundraising for the Mesquite Senior Games.
Frank considered Betty Ann not only his lov-ing and forever wife, but his valued assistant and internal support system for all his community activities.

Walking is a lifelong fitness activity. Mesquite Senior Games has added a Fitness Walk to its schedule in 2014 to spotlight the ease and importance of maintaining personal fitness through an everyday activity. All ages are welcome to participate in this untimed event.
Walkers may choose to walk varying distances from .75 mi to 8.1 miles at their own pace.Families are invited to enjoy the outdoor fun of walking together.The Fitness Walk will be staged from the Mesquite Sports and Events Center on April19. There is No Fee. Sign-in from 7am to 10am and begin walking anytime before10am. T-Shirts may be purchased on-site for $10 (or included with Mesquite SeniorGames Registration).
Fitness Walk added to 2014 Senior Games
This will be the second year for the Long Drive event and, based on feedback from competitors, its popularity is expected to grow. Last year, 35 hitters stepped up to the tee on the famous REMAX World Long Drive venue and hit their best and longest shots onto the grid.
The event is open to men and women aged 50 and bet-ter. Don’t think you need to be a super long hitter--it’s
open to hitters of any level. You just need to keep the ball in the grid and hit longer than your age-gender group competitors. You’ll have eight balls to show your stuff! Sign up early and get your friends involved. This event may fill up. Regis-tration deadline is 6pm on April 2, 2014.
