Safari Plus In Talk with the promoters & directors of Delhi, based Dook Travels Private Limited, Mr. Sandeep Gupta & Mr. Gopal Kapoor on occasion of their recent joint venture with Mumbai based Dimaz Group. Together they are promoting tourism to Russia & CIS countries from India.
Q. Tell us about Dook and its journey?
Dook Travels came into existence after restructuring of business of Dook Consulting Services, which started operations in 2010. Our core business is to handle outbound travel from India to CIS countries. Since inception we focused on CIS countries and build up our competency by strategically investing in value chain.
Currently we are maintaining market leadership position in terms of market share and goodwill. We have been co n fe r re d t h e t i t l e o f ' B ra n d Ambassador' for Uzbekistan Tourism in India for which we have been sincerely working and succeeded in promoting tourism for Uzbekistan.
Q. What all destinations you promote and which segment these destinations are suitable?
We have been promoting Tashkent, Samarkand and Bukhara in Uzbekistan, Almaty and Aktau in Kazakhstan, Bishkek and Issyk-kul lake in Kyrgyztan, Yerevan in Armenia. All these destinations are well suited for leisure and MICE travels. These

Q. What are your plans to expand y o u r p o r t f o l i o i n t e r m s o f destination?
We have big plans to expand our portfolio to embrace whole CIS world. Recently, we have joined our hands with Mumbai based Dimaz Group to promote Kiev in Ukraine, Moscow, St Petersburg,
Kazan and many other cities in Russia and to beef up operations in Almaty.
Q. How you see these destinations compare with traditional tourist destinations for Indians?
With growing tourism market in India we are hopeful that these destinations being pocket friendly and with less flying time are going to be hot tourist spots with more friendly terms.
