We present this year’s Christmas Wish Book for our 7th Internet Sale containing easily the strongest and most exciting offering yet. The IRCC Simmental program is a unique breeding establishment with 60 red and black cows built and designed to suit the rolling, marginal land of the Kawarthas. We demand our cattle have extreme structural integrity which in turn makes them eye appealing and problem free starting from birth. We understand our bull customers are either too busy or not available to deal with calving issues and the same sires selected to produce efficient, sound females also offer lower birthweights and more vigour at birth. We have been diligent in our breeding program multiplying off these ideals and in doing so have produced stock that have also proven to be highly competitive. You will not find common, over conditioned, deep fronted, low headed cattle at IRCC as we’ve been schooled by our parents and learned from experience that productive females are angular and feminine while their male counterparts need to be masculine and proud. The cattle offered for sale are as usual fresh in their condition including the show calves allowing for increased fertility and longevity.

We are a stock show family and darn proud of it as it allows us to meet like minded people from around the globe and it also offers a great environment to raise our children. This past Royal Winter Fair and National Simmental show was a showcase of our best genetic matings. IRCC bred cattle won 8 classes with 5 seconds and a third. We had both Bull Calf Champion and Reserve, Reserve Jr Heifer calf, Reserve Sr Heifer Calf, Champion Futurity Female, Reserve Champion Futurity Bull and Reserve Grand Female in the YCS Junior Show. The Reserve Junior Champion Female was an embryo we bred and sold and to cap the whole week off the Supreme Champion female out of the 350 plus All Breed Junior Show was out of an IRCC cow. Congrats and thanks to Barlee, Martins, Simm-Gen, RK, Lundago, Black River, Cabrals, Brandalee, Howes’ and Dunc for showcasing our genetics and helping us win our 8th straight Premier Breeder award plus being Premier Exhibitor. We think our location, family run farm, competitive nature, breeding philosophies and management practises make the IRCC program unique to the Canadian cattle industry and hope this year’s offering can continue to positively impact the business and add value to their new owners. Junior members remember we have an incentive program and with the YCS National Show coming to our backyard in Lindsay next summer, contact us for details on some pre boarding options on heifers bought and designated for that event. Look to IRCC for your next high quality show heifer, herd building female or elite future herd sire, as we want to be “Your Source for Success”

Welcome...

Elegance and grace combine with added substance and power on an ideal skeleton to create what we think might be the greatest breeding piece ever raised at IRCC. A dominating force on the show trail she was rarely beaten and was Reserve Grand Female at the Ontario YCS Classic and Reserve Calf Champion in Toronto. Her outcross genetics allow for unlimited mating opportuni-ties to add value and manufacture a herd bull from. Beautiful in her skull, lean necked, robust through the center portion of her body, level hipped, wide pinned and deep quartered all on clean, flat joints in an athletic attractive package. Its all good here. IRCC will retain one future flush.

Absolute sale feature and special attraction here out of the heart of the IRCC program. Out of our head matriarch U Go Girl and Broker, we expected greatness and were not disappointed. Textbook design here with all the angles and slopes that lets one flex, travel and look good doing it. Study her pictures and realize thats what structural integrity and class look rolled together. A sister to the 2011 Royal Champion IRCC Xcella and the 2013 Royal Calf Champion and $12000 high seller IRCC At A Girl now at Dykstras, she also has notable sisters at Paul Maxwells and Mathesons in PEI. If you need a future donor cow or a fluffy one just for fun next season then this royally bred heifer is the one for you. IRCC will retain one future flush.

Striking, moderate baldy heifer here with famous ancestry. A stall favorite all show season for Black River, her exquisite look and fresh appearance stopped a lot of traffic. The Hugs cow has in the past couple of years made quite a name for herself as her natural calves, ET calves and extended progeny have topped sales and won major shows across Canada. Hugs N Kisses’ progeny were just awarded the National Champion produce of dam award at the Royal adding another feather to her already flamboyant cap. Good old Dream On anchors this star studded pedigree making this lot a very useful breeding tool. Owned with Black River Farms, Dan and Janet Munro

Can’t say enough about the cow that backs this outstanding blaze faced, show Champion.. This sale feature was the Champion Futurity Female, she won her class in the open show as well. Her maternal sister, Barlee Abbey Road was purchased as an embryo out of the 2011 internet sale and was Calf Champion in 2013 and Reserve Junior Champion this year. She was also a Friday Nite feature last fall selling for $11,500 to Kyle Martin. The All Breed Supreme Champion Female in the National heifer show was out of IRCC BR Indian Kisses, who was also out of Hugs. Splendid cos-metics on a wide bodied, dimensional, show winner make this a female one to start a cow family from and she’ll also decorate your office walls in the process. IRCC will retain one future flush.

Intriguing extra age, fall born heifer on offer to add some excitement to this years collection of Holiday Hotties. She has been a contender all season, battling the Aprils and Mays with lots of success also being Grand Champion Female on several occasions. A big statured, buxom, high performing heifer with a breedy skull, extended tidy front end and one that is also extremely comfortable in her spine as she goes. A recent National Class winner, I’ve been excited about this heifer since I discovered her in the tall grass last fall. Maternally you just can’t beat the Sandman cows and the cow family udder quality is stellar here. Lots of options here for fall breeding or to make a powerful herd builder to calve in 2016 at 30 months.

The first registered Angus ever born at IRCC and an incredible way to start this little venture for Owen, Katie and our good friend/neighbor Tony James. Probably the most well travelled heifer in Canada, she went to 20 shows and won most of them including 2 jackpots. Typical of the Lookouts, she is moderate, wedgy made, dimensional, perfectly proportionate in her design, square on all corners and handles her hock with extreme accuracy while she fills her track with a solid foot. We don’t have much leisure time or many hobbies here, but this little doll has been a great source of entertainment this year and as we continue to develope this Angus division we’re going to do it with cattle that look just like this one. IRCC will retain one future flush.

Huge, symmetrical footed, heavy structured cow prospect here with a very maternal look. Out of a beautiful, wedge shaped cow that milks hard and produces consistently every year this heifer is destined to do the same. Her sire adds performance and more maternal to an already impressive genetic makeup so expect predictable and lasting productivity from this square made, freaky long, sound, well balanced heifer.

This beauty black baldy comes from our pick of the Muirhead female sale last fall and carries some of the breeds most notable and freshest genetics. Super crisp in her lines she was raised by an absolute workhorse of a first calver that raised one of our heavier heifer calves. She has the value added blaze and a wonderful disposition to go along with her pleasing design and well balanced genetic projections. If you need one for the YCS next summer or just one for the long haul, I’m betting this girl will just flat work.

Dam’s sire: HOC Broker

Big outlined, big middled, lean necked heifer that can race pretty fast before she matures into motherhood. Tough to poke a hole in this one, and lots of performance in just a mid March female. Her dam always projects that extra power and mothered the impressive Athena 335A heifer that topped our spring bull sale at $5000 going to RK Cattle. Like the RK heifer who was tough all show season and was part of a 1rst and 2nd IRCC finish at this years’ National show, this one will stand some competition.

Boldly constructed, wide based heifer with extra timber that just might be unstoppable next summer in that junior yearling split at the shows. Out of our powerful 680S daughter that won her class at the Royal in 2011, her mating with old faithful Sandman created a wonderful well balanced, complete, sensible prospect that will compete and work hard. Not surprising a sister to this lot was the 2012 Jr Heifer Calf Champion and internet favorite selling to Kevin McNaughton for $7250. This could be the biggest topped, roundest ribbed heifer in the lot and will be a contender at the YCS Classic next year. Owned with Black River Farms

On the ground she is athletic and accurate in motion with some width in her under carriage. A linebred Built Right out of the showring sensation, Zephyr and an absolutely gorgeous mother cow expect her days as brood cow to be just as exciting as the days she is out chasing banners.
