Chef Chad’s tips for shopping smart this winter
We have had a wet and cool winter this year in West Texas as well as the rest of the Southwest region of the US. Prices at the grocery store are on the rise. Winter storms have wiped out a majority of the produce produced between Los Angeles and San Diego through the Yuma, Arizona growing regions. The scales are tip-
ping to the demand side of the scale from the supply side.
Items to watch out for: • Broccoli, Strawberries, Cauliflower, Green Onions, Strawberries • Most Greens— spinach, spring mixes, romaine, and iceberg • Butter and Eggs with stabilize in the next few weeks and come down in
price

Golf Course Update
As most of you know over the past several years during the months of January and February we have main-tained the policy of CART PATH ONLY. I am happy to report that in 2015 Bentwood will now allow you to
drive your carts 90 degrees from the cart path to the fairways throughout the winter months. The reason for this decision is because of the timely rains we had in the fall and the acquisition of the water for the golf course. Also, with our members help pairing up together and abiding by the three cart rule, we feel that our golfers
should be rewarded this year.
We continue to ask you to keep your cart on the paths around all tees and greens, and all par threes remain cart path only as always. One other thing we would like you to do is, be aware of keeping all four tires on the paths
when parking around the tees and greens. This really helps with the area around the cart paths and also pre-vents erosion and a constant battle with the ruts made by the tires.
Thank you again for your cooperation as we strive to make Bentwood better each and everyday.
