Birmingham is a progressive city and theres a lot of cool stuff going on. I spent the summer as an intern at Piper Place, a center for adults with severe mental illness, a position thats only open to BSC students. I got to learn so much and it helped me discover my true passion. Now I want to go into occupational therapy or become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.

We know you learn best by doing. Our rise3 program challenges you to apply what you learn to the real world. Choose from research projects, internships, or service-learning conducted in courses or on your own. Imagine a business class on arts marketing, collaborating with a scientist on cancer drugs, learning leadership by serving in the inner city, or teaching English overseas. The possibilities are endless.
