It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to the Utica Campus of Hinds Community College where we provide a quality education for students.

Standing on the shoulders of our founder Mr. William Holzclaw, this HBCU’s rich heritage and legacy began in 1903 and continues to provide a family atmosphere that ensures our students are successful. We strive to provide the highest quality education in a personal environment, guided by our strong and rich legacy.

Women’s Head Coach Micheryln SmithMicheryln Smith enters her eighth season at the helm of the Lady Bulldogs basketball team. In addition to serving as the head coach, she is a full-time instructor in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Department.

The Vicksburg native graduated from Vicksburg High School where she lettered in varsity basketball and track. Upon graduating, she attended Hinds Community College where she received a basket-ball scholarship and played for two years.

Smith continued her education at Jackson State University, receiv-ing a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in health, physical educa-tion and recreation.

She also worked at JSU, wearing many hats including assistant basketball coach, file clerk and admissions counselor. Upon taking on a new role at Hinds Community College’s Utica Campus as a counselor in the Talent Search Department, Smith later became the assistant women’s basketball coach before transitioning into the role as head women’s basketball coach.

Smith is a 1987 graduate of Vicksburg High School, and currently resides in Clinton with her husband, Kenny, two daughters and one stepdaughter. She also has three grandchildren.

Women’s Assistant Coach Elliott RobinsonElliott Robinson enters his first year as assistant basketball coach of the Lady Bulldogs. He brings a wealth of basketball knowledge to the program as his involvement in basketball spans more than 15 years.

A Callaway High School graduate, Robinson played one year of junior varsity basketball followed by three years of varsity basket-ball.

After graduating from Hinds in 2005, Robinson started The Hawks, an adult men’s city league basketball team in Jackson. From 2005-2011 his team obtained one championship trophy, eight runner-up trophies and four regular season best record trophies.

The Jackson native is also the founder of The Mississippi Lady Hawks Organization where he plans to have a tremendous impact on our today’s youth.

Robinson received an associate of arts degree in business administration from Hinds in 2005. He is the son of Gloria Robinson and the youngest of five children.
