1.The new house The new house which was started at the end of April has been completed. Masons and carpenters and other labourers worked very hard. The Munda girls who live at the mission outstation painted the doors and the windows of the new house. There are three rooms in the new house. Two rooms are for guests and the biggest room is the new dining room. All the three rooms have fans so during the hot season fresh air can be enjoyed. The structure of the new house is quite strong. In case of natural calamities such as floods or cyclones the new house can be a very good shelter for the inhabitants of the mission outstation and for people living nearby. The total cost of the new house was about 6000 Euros and expenditures were met by two great friends of our Munda people: Ms. Denise Giraudo from Torino and Ms. Lidia Moroni from Sondrio. The tribal Munda people of the Sunderban Forest will be grateful to these two persons forever.

2. A guest from Italy A young lady from Italy came to visit us from Jessore. Her name is Sofia Bizzarri and came to Bangladesh to work as a physiotherapist with disabled children. She spent two days with us and she talked about her family and her studies and her boyfriend and her precious work with Bachte Shekha in Jessore. She also went around to visit our people in their villages. We have been very happy to have her as our honourable guest even though she could stay for only a short time.

3. Nursing training Three Munda girls are very interested to become nurses. They want to get nursing training from Fatima Hospital. So they sent an application to Jessore Fatima Hospital for getting this training. We hope they will be given the chance to be trained in this very important profession. These three girls are following the path of Falguni and Monjhuri Munda who have almost completed a nursing training. These girls will be a very good asset for our tribal Munda community. We wish Shopna, Onjona and Parboti, the three new future nurses, all the best.

5. Meetings to face natural calamities Uttaran, the biggest NGO working in this part of the country, has been organizing very important meetings attended by local people to learn how they could face possible natural calamities such as floods and cyclones. Our small mission outstation has been chosen by the workers of this NGO as the most suitable place where to have these meeting which will be going on for several weeks. We are very happy to give our Hindu and Muslim neighbours the opportunity to gather at our place which is a Catholic institution, that is open for everybody.
