TEAM HRC ready for the great challenge. Ready for the Dakar.

Rosario played host today to the presentation of the official teams, with Honda

and TEAM HRC introducing the team that will represent them in the !"#edition of the Rally Dakar. $ith the administrati%e and technical checks out ofthe way, the teams can &egin the competition tomorrow 'unday (th )anuary.

*t will &e the city center of Rosario, Argentina where the Rally Dakar !"# setsout from, and where today the press conference and the presentation of theofficial Honda teams took place. Honda will &e represented &y+ Honda

Argentina Rally Team, with Argentinian rider a&lo -Cacha Rodr/gue0 and'panish rider 1aia 'an0+ Honda Racing 2ra0il Rally Team, including 2ra0ilian)ean De A0e%edo, as well as TEAM HRC, with 'paniard )oan 2arreda,ortuguese riders H3lder Rodrigues and aulo 4on5al%es, Argentine )a%ieri00olito and 2ritish rider 'am 'underland.

Also present at the e%ent was the management team, with team director6atsumi 7ama0aki and general manager Martino 2ianchi, as well as %ice8chairman of HRC, 'huhei 9akamoto+ the Motorsports manager de HondaRacing, Hiroyuki :u;iwara+ CE< of Honda Argentina, 9o&oyuki 6a;i andmarketing manager of Honda Argentina, :ederico =ahle, who stated, >Thechallenge and competiti%e spirit are two of main %alues of the Honda &rand. 7esterday saw the administrati%e checks and technical tests, &efore the firststage of the Rally Dakar !"# sets out tomorrow at !#. ! hrs from Rosario indirection 'an 1u/s.

Katsumi Yamazaki. TEAM HRC Team Director >Dakar is the most prestigious and toughest off8road motorcycle race in theworld. An e@ceptional work8&ench for the &ike, which in turn will &ecometomorrow s mass8production model. 1ast year we entered Dakar with a factoryteam in order to gain e@perience and de%elop a completely new &ike.:or Dakar "#, HRC produced a complete new machine, the CR: #(! Rally thatwill &e ridden &y fi%e factory riders. The &ike was tested with success in

Morocco and Mer0ouga rally, where TEAM HRC won &oth e%ents. $e &elie%ewe now ha%e the &est riders, machines and a team structure that is capa&le ofwinning the Dakar. TEAM HRC>* d like to thank HRC for gi%ing me this chance to compete for Honda on thisgreat &ike. $e won the first race as well as the $orld Championship thanks tothe great teamwork. $e know that it is a %ery solid &ase that we are &uilding on,and with a fine team of riders. $e &elie%e in the team. The Dakar is tough andthis one in particular will &e, &ecause it is longer and more difficult than all theothers in 'outh America, and altitude could &e a factor that complicates therace. ?
