We live in a remarkable place. The many opportunities and resources available in this small community exist because of the a deep connection Teton Valley residents have for our home. Recreation, arts, culture, human-services support, and youth programs are all made possible here through the vision and collaboration of dedicated people. And just one of the resources that makes this place remarkable is our community hospital.

In 2013, Teton Valley Health Care had 17,000 clinic visits, performed over 350 surgeries, and responded to 1,900 Emergency Department visits. Our hospital had a

0% infection rate in 2013, and clinic and hospital patient satisfaction scored above 97%. Our quality of care is something that our community can be proud of.

Looking beyond the numbers, we strive to see the faces of the people we serve and gain a true understanding of their experiences while in our care. This year, Teton Valley Hospital Foundation will support Teton Valley Health Care’s focus on enhancing patient-centric standards of care, with the goal of exceeding expectations at every point of contact that we have with you, your family, and your friends.

Teton Valley’s community hospital is as remarkable as the community we live in. Our hospital was opened in 1938 because of the desire and support of our people, and we continue to serve 75 years later because of you. Thank you.

As a stroke survivor who has used the services of Teton Valley Health Care over

several years, if there is one thing that the hospital and staff provides me and my fam-

ily, it’s peace of mind – not only that the hospital is here in our valley, but that they

continue to invest in equipment and programs to better serve all of us in the valley.

Take it from someone who knows: minutes count in a stroke, and the hospital’s staff

and technology investments save lives.

John and Linda Unland are part-time residents who greatly value the definitive care Teton Valley Hospital offers right here. John had a stroke several years ago and shortly afterward began to experience complications in the form of seizures. His first seizure occurred in Teton Valley, and he and Linda feel they received excellent care at Teton Valley Hospital. Scan the QR code for their story or go to tvhfoundation.org/testimonials.

“My quality of life didn’t stop, even after my stroke.”

- Stroke is the 4th leading cause of death.

- 62% of stroke patients were unaware of the symptoms.

- Patients who arrive at the hospital within 3 hours

after symptoms begin experience a more positive outcome.

- 22% of patients experience complications as a result of

a stroke.

- 49% of people have risk factors that can be decreased

by a healthier lifestyle.

As medical care and technology continually progresses, Teton Valley Health Care is committed to advancements in services and growth to further its ability to provide care. As part of the vision for the future, TVHC recently finalized affiliation agreements with several regional providers to further patient care, expand services and control costs.

Video-based telemedicine system is an exciting innovation that enables TVHC patients and healthcare providers to have real-time consultations with some of the top specialists in our nation, allowing our community a greater level of care. Rather than needing to travel hundreds of miles to see a specialist, telemedicine brings the specialist to you, in real time.

Teton Valley Hospital Foundation received

a generous grant from the Teton Springs

Foundation to renovate the Teton Valley

Hospital blood draw room and furnishings,

including the purchase of a new, comfortable

phlebotomy chair. The remodel was completed

in March 2014.

“This grant from the Teton Springs

Foundation helps TVHC continue to enhance

the patient experience,” said Keith Gnagey,

Teton Valley Health Care CEo. Thank you,

Teton Springs Foundation! our community is a

better place because of your generosity.

Blood-draw room renovations enhance patient experience.

“While none of us look forward to a blood draw, the newly remodeled room is so cheery and comfortable, it takes some of the sting out of the experience.”

A provider at Teton Valley Health Care, George Linhardt, MD, is board-certified with the American Board of Surgery. He specializes in general surgery with additional experience in breast surgery and reconstruction.

As part of Teton Valley Health Care’s Breast Health Basics video series, scan the QR code or visit www.

tvhcare.org to see videos of Dr. Linhardt explaining the stages of breast cancer, treatment options and breast reconstruction.

As part of Teton Valley Hospital Foundation’s focus on wellness, the “TVHF Breast Cancer Screening Fund” provides mammograms for medically under-served local women and focuses on education and prevention. The breast cancer screening fund provides a mammogram, clinical examination and mammography reading, in addition to short-term and long-term follow up. Also, the program provides comprehensive referrals and follow

up for patients with abnormal results. The program will provide additional diagnostic services when appropriate.

The breast cancer screening fund is made possible through the generous support of the annual “Tee It Up for the Tetons: Fighting Breast Cancer in Teton Valley” golf tournament. We gratefully recognize the steering committee, volunteers and Teton Springs Resort Headwaters Golf for making the event a success each year.

The 2013 Tee It Up for the Tetons winning men’s team promote breast cancer awareness through their fashion sense. (l-r): Dean Scheid, John Siverd, Matt Penny and Martin Scott.

Real men wear pink.

- 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer.

- 50th out of 50: Idaho’s rank for mammogram screenings.

- $16,500 distributed by Teton Valley Hospital Foundation for

breast cancer education, mammograms, additional diagnostics and

healthcare consultations for local women in need.

YES, I want to support quality health care in Teton Valley!

To give online, go to tvhfoundation.org/giving/donate.html and click on DONATE NOW.

For more than 75 years, Teton Valley Health Care has held true to its mission of supporting compassionate and quality health care for our community and visitors. our hospital saves lives and offers personalized care with a focus on the best outcomes for our patients. To help ensure Teton Valley Hospital Foundation will be able to continue its mission of supporting our hospital through funding capital equipment, facility im-provements and quality programs for years to come, more of our donors now include planned gifts as part of their support for the hospital.

A planned gift is a strategic way for you to support the hospital foundation’s charitable mis-sion while also helping you carefully plan for your own future and those of your loved ones. Wheth-er it is a gift through a will after first providing for your family’s financial needs, or ensuring steady and reliable income for life through a gift annuity or trust, planned giving may offer the best path for your philanthropic goals.

For more information about making a legacy gift, or if you are a financial advisor assisting a cli-ent in making a bequest or other planned gift to TVHF, please contact Diane Tauer Temple at 208-354-6317 ext. 181 or [email protected].
