    NOTES TO 2013 TIMETABLE - CAPE

    1. The time indicated on the Timetable includes Reading Time.2. Starting times for all centres within a territory are 09:00 hr and 13:00 hr.3. Art and Design: The Test Papers (Papers 2 and 3 for Unit 1 and Papers 1

    and 2 for Unit 2) are to be handed to candidates on Friday, 19 April. The

    examinations must be completed during the period 13-22 May.

    4. Once scheduled in the same session, the Alternative Paper 03/2 must bewritten after Paper 1.

    5. Private candidates registered for the Alternative Paper (04/2) in the Frenchand Spanish Unit 1 and Unit 2 examinations will not be required to take a

    written paper but will be required to take the oral examinations. No dates

    have been scheduled for the oral examinations, however, they must be takenbetween 2226 April at the discretion of the Local Registrar.

    Use of Dictionaries

    6. The use of dictionaries is permitted for French and Spanish Paper 03ONLY. Candidates are allowed one text related to each theme to assist them

    in answering Section B of Paper 03.

    N.B: Texts that are heavily annotated are not permitted in the examination

    room.

    Use of Calculators

    7. The use of silent non-programmable scientific calculators is permitted forthe following examinations:

    (i) Accounting Units 1 and 2(ii) Applied Mathematics Units 1 and 2(iii) Biology Units 1 and 2(iv) Chemistry Units 1 and 2(v) Economics Units 1 and 2(vi)

    Use of Notes in Law Examination by Candidates

    8. Candidates writing the Alternative Paper to SBA (Paper 03/2) for Law Units 1 and2 will be permitted to take into the examination room prepared notes on the topic

    of the year (Sources of Law in Unit 1 and Nuisance in Unit 2 these are found inthe 2008 Law Syllabus at page 37). When responding to the question, candidates

    may refer to their prepared notes.

    Use of Compact Discmans

    9. The use of Compact Discmans with earphones is permitted in the French Units 1and 2 Paper 01, and Spanish Units 1 and 2 Paper 01. Each candidate will be

    provided with a compact disc (CD) for use in the Paper 01 examination.

    Use of Geometry Sets

    10. The use of geometry sets (mathematical instruments) is permitted in the followingexaminations:

    (i) Applied Mathematics Units 1 and 2(ii) Pure Mathematics Units 1 and 2(iii) Environmental Science Units 1 and 2(iv) Geography Units 1 and 2

    11.
