ELLISE SPEDDING Elise commenced employment as a

Tourism Trainee with Parkes Shire Councilin February 2013.

Elise is currently completing a CertificateIII in Visitor Information Services and worksfrom the Parkes Visitor Information Centrebased at the Henry Parkes Centre - an excit-ing tourism complex owned and operated byParkes Shire Council.

The Tourism Trainee is a newly createdposition within Council and is primarily re-sponsible for the daily function of the ParkesVisitor Information Centre and being thefirst point of contact for visitors to Parkes.

Elise is responsible for coordinating entryto the Henry Parkes Museums, managingmerchandise displays and providing admin-istrative support to the Tourism Unit.

Elise provides valuable assistance withpromotion of tourism services and attrac-

tions including accommodation, attractions,restaurants and cafes and events throughoutthe Shire.

Elise is a well regarded staff member ofParkes Shire Council and a valuable member

of the Tourism Unit. Elise provides quality customer service

with an engaging personality, and is a pleas-ure to have as part of the Parkes ShireTourism Team.

Changing the name of his business toGlass Place has worked really well forCom Lamrock.

Three years ago Col decided to changethe image, and primarily aim towards gen-erations X and Y for all their aluminuimand glass products needs.

“We wanted a short, sharp name thatsays who we are,” Col said.

“So we listened to our customers andcame up with ‘Glass Place’

“It has given us that different image wewere looking for.

“Glass Place is constantly growing andwe are always looking for qualified staff,”he said.

Col has owned the business for 10 yearsand today has five full time staff.
