Elise is currently completing a Certificate III in Visitor Information Services and works from the Parkes Visitor Information Centre based at the Henry Parkes Centre - an excit- ing tourism complex owned and operated by Parkes Shire Council. The Tourism Trainee is a newly created position within Council and is primarily re- sponsible for the daily function of the Parkes Visitor Information Centre and being the first point of contact for visitors to Parkes. Elise is responsible for coordinating entry to the Henry Parkes Museums, managing merchandise displays and providing admin- istrative support to the Tourism Unit. Elise provides valuable assistance with promotion of tourism services and attrac- tions including accommodation, attractions, restaurants and cafes and events throughout the Shire. Elise is a well regarded staff member of Parkes Shire Council and a valuable member of the Tourism Unit. Elise provides quality customer service with an engaging personality, and is a pleas- ure to have as part of the Parkes Shire Tourism Team. Sub Changing the name of his business to Glass Place has worked really well for Com Lamrock. Three years ago Col decided to change the image, and primarily aim towards gen- erations X and Y for all their aluminuim and glass products needs. “We wanted a short, sharp name that says who we are,” Col said. “So we listened to our customers and came up with ‘Glass Place’ “It has given us that different image we were looking for. “Glass Place is constantly growing and we are always looking for qualified staff,” he said. Col has owned the business for 10 years and today has five full time staff.
