In 2012 the City of Colorado Springs and the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region partnered to open and operate four outdoor aquatic centers. Our goal was to provide healthy programs and safe swimming for youth, families, adults and seniors. Now in our second year, the partnership continues. We welcome you to enjoy Prospect Lake Beach, Monument Valley, Portal and Wilson Ranch Pools.

RATES & RENTALS

Facility Rentals & GroupsYouth groups, workplace parties, and family celebrations are just a few types of occasions celebrated at these outdoor aquatic centers. YMCA lifeguards will be on duty to ensure your group’s safety. Times and dates are subject to availability after regular operating hours. Rates include pool use for up to 50 individuals. Community rooms are available at Prospect Lake Beach and Wilson Ranch Pool. Please call 719.385.5984 or email mprcpoolmanager@ppymca.org to register.

POOL RULES

SAFETY ISOUR PRIORITYThe pool is a great place to have fun and exercise, but the most important priority at the Y is your safety. Specific rules are posted at each aquatic center; however, to ensure your family’s safety, please review the general guidelines below. YMCA lifeguards have final discretion regarding pool rules, policies and schedules. Failure to follow rules or lifeguard instructions may result in loss of pool access, passes and/or YMCA membership.

BANDING POLICYAll swimmers under the age of 13 will be required to wear a color coded neck band that designates where they are permitted to swim. Band color will be determined by a child’s height or they may choose to take a swim test. Due to varying depths of water at our pools, your child’s band color may change from center to center.

Children enrolled in YMCA Swim Lessons learn and practice swimming, feel a sense of achievement from mastering something new and gain skills for a lifetime. Please sign your child up according to his or her age. Our trained instructors will coordinateclassesforchildrenaccordingtotheirswimmingabilityonthefirst day of class. This will provide your child with the best experience possible as theywilllearnvariousswimmingskillsandgainconfidenceinapositive learning environment.

PRIVATE / SEMI-PRIVATEFor a more personalized experience, the Y offers private swim lessons to children ages 3 and up. Our certified instructors will provide one-on-one instruction based on swimming ability. Each session includes four 30-minute lessons.

RISING STARSRising Stars is an in-depth clinic that will focus one stroke per session. Swimmers willalsoparticipateindrillsandlearnskillstoimprovetheirspeedandefficiency.Instructional time will be split between swimming, stretching, dry-land activities, games and educational topics such as nutrition and goal setting. This is an ideal program for swimmers who have completed our swim lesson program or for those who are on a beginner or intermediate swim team.
