he 2013 Scion FR-S is arguably one of the more exciting platforms that

have been released in the past few years. Propelled by its rear wheel drive and sport tuned suspension, the FR-S provides the driver with an experience they will re-member. Jeff Maldonado of 742 Market-ing recognized this platform and all of its capabilities early on. Jeff teamed up with some wonderful com-panies like Extreme Dimensions for the body kit, Carbon Creations for Carbon Fiber parts, K&N for the intake, Me-gan Racing for suspen-sion, NRG innovations, Memphis Car Audio, and Konig Wheels with their brand new Konig Torch Wheels in Matte Black with Ball Cut spokes in a staggered fit of 19x8.5 front and 19x9.5 rear.


The M.A.T. process also strengthens the barrel of the wheel and creates a product, which has similar proper-

ties to those developed utilizing a forging process. KONIG is a brand that is utilizing M.A.T. (flow forming type process) produc-tion for a few of their wheel models. Wheel models such as the KONIG Milligram, KONIG Kilogram and their all NEW KONIG CENTIGRAM are headlining KONIG’s M.A.T. offerings! While the production on M.A.T. wheels takes longer and costs more then typical cast wheels, the end result leaves the user with a wheel that will can attack on the street and out perform on the track!

ith so many different wheels on the market, and various wheel

construction terms out there, you may become overwhelmed. What does it all mean? While we’re not going to dive into all the different terms, one term that you may have heard more about recently is M.A.T. or Flow Forming Process.So what exactly makes this method of producing wheels so attractive? Well the answer is simple, stronger and lighter! Now you may be thinking, ok, but what makes the result of this process stronger and lighter? Don’t worry, we weren’t going to keep the secret from you! The M.A.T. process of creating wheels, which was created by Enkei Japan, has a drastic impact on the microstructure of aluminum. By spinning the wheel barrel between two dies the process shaves the rim’s thickness, and therefore reduces the wheel weight. It makes sense right? Remove unnecessary material and the wheels become lighter, however that’s not all!

Improving your vehicle’s “stance” may start with the style

and fitment, but is also about the strength and weight.

KONIG's answer to this issue is the KONIG Milligram. The

Milligram is an M.A.T., flow-formed process wheel that of-

fers decreased weight and a stronger result. The Milligram

is styled in Matte Black with Machined Undercut, and Gold

loster to the next level they enlisted the guys from PMLIFESTYLE. PMLIFESTYLE dreamed, illustrated and created a Veloster that makes heads turn! Kenneth Moen comes to the U.S. all the way from Scandinavia, where he’s already recognized as one of the best drifters, to compete in Formula Drift. His all or nothing style makes watch-ing him an incredible experience. Moen rounded out the 2012 Formula Drift season in 19th overall standing position. He runs KONIG Kilogram wheels 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 out back.

Dennis Mertzanis had a roller coaster season this year. He saw some of his best career performances while suffering setbacks along the way. His unwavering determination pushed him to a respectable 30th place ranking in the 2012 Formula Drift Season. Dennis runs 18x9.5 KONIG Milligram Wheels in gold in the front and 18x10 in the rear.
