Turin as the city of opportunities. Not so sure about, but on this, I have to admit I am very bias.
Anyway, Luca Ballarini and Giacomo Biraghi will present their work in Milan, this coming thu at FMG space.

The Me Me Me Generation
A very nice article on Times magazine:
I am about to do what old people have done throughout history: call those younger than me lazy, entitled, selfish and shallow. But I have studies! I have statistics! I have quotes from respected academics! Unlike my parents, my grandparents and my great-grandparents, I have proof.
Here's the cold, hard data: The incidence of narcissistic personality disorder is nearly three times as high for people in their 20s as for the generation that's now 65 or older, according to the National Institutes of Health; 58% more college students scored higher on a narcissism scale in…

Santa Cristina Paulilatino
I am very excited. Tomorrow I will give a lecture on "Architecture and Interaction Design". Since the school is in Oristano, the lecture will be at Pozzo Sacro di Santa Cristina.
One of the most striking case-studies of interactive building of the last 10.000 years. A magic dwell, astronomically organized, in order to have (once per year) the sun making love to the moon.
Goosebumps!

What is design? (or, John Maeda on Bill Moggridge)
Stefano’s facebook timeline 20/52 2013
From John Maeda's blog:
The late Bill Moggridge says it well in his 1-hour lecture above delivered at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. Bill's clear definition for "What is Design?" is about just two things: 1) understanding people, and 2) prototyping examples to try them out. In other words, it's about empathy and efficacy.
At minute 22, Bill makes a pivotal point about his diagram (above) on the design process. He says, "There's a tendency for this process to move in a clockwise direction. The reality is slightly different -- the green arrows show the instance of a real example. You see it jumped around from place to place .... So the process doesn't have to follow any rigorous way. It just can be followed in a pragmatic way where you go to the things that are most successful."
Thanks, Bill! -JM

Sicilia, Italy
Way Before Twitter (and Much Better...)
It was the 2nd of November 1973, and an analphabet woman in Sicily wrote a letter to her husband, emigrant in Germany.
The lady didn't know how to write, but she was very willing to communicate with him. Hence, she invented a curious pictogram system to express all the things she wanted to say.
Here you have more about this story (in Italian): http://www.ilpost.it/.../una-lettera-damore-in-sicilia.../

This is just rubbish.
It is a resource for experimentation with pinhole photography. Streets and public spaces are invaded by abandoned, broken, unwanted objects. Some enjoy taking photos of rubbish, we want rubbish to take photos of us.http://www.thisisjustrubbish.org/

A Fantastic Series of Wooden (Pin-hole) Cameras
Stefano’s facebook timeline 20/52 2013
Through his brand ONDU, woodworker Elvis Halilović has been making lensless pinhole cameras for over seven years along with a wide variety of ceramic and structural objects, including kits for geodesic domes.
This week the Slovenian designer unveiled a beautifully designed series of pinhole cameras made from wood and held together in part by strong magnets. Forget your camera phone, filters, and “likes,” these tough little lensless film cameras are old school and completely manual, relying on direct exposure of light to film.

Arduino Yún. Or, Arduino Goes with (Linux Support)
Arduino Yún. Or, Arduino goes wifi with (Linux support).
Massimo Banzi announced it Saturday, during his annual “The state of Arduino” presentation at Maker Faire Bay Area: Arduino Yún is the first of a revolutionary family of wifi products combining Arduino with Linux.
Yún means “cloud” in chinese language, as the purpose of this board to make it simple to connect to complex web services directly from Arduino.
