Ken Ganley also donated an additional $10,000 for the turf project. Chip Bell spoke at the winter sports’ Meet the Bees. A discussion was held about the possibility of a different boosters’ representative speaking at each season’s Meet the Bees to create interest and increase membership. Having different officers speak would show new faces and representation from a variety of sports. To increase membership and involvement in the boosters, we would like to encourage the middle school coaches to promote the boosters at every parent meeting. The bylaws were read and reviewed by executive officers. After discussing at meeting, it was decided that bylaws 1 and 2 were good, but the other bylaws will be discussed at the conclusion of the year. Each officer will keep track of their responsibilities and report back at the end of the year so any needed changes can be made.Next years concessions position needs to become a committee of members. The job is overwhelming.

BAB New BusinessBAB New BusinessAs written in Weekly Update:

The artificial turf on the high school athletic field is near the end of its life cycle and cannot be safely used much longer. When the turf was originally purchased a process to fund the inevitable replacement turf was designed. The savings generated by not having to maintain a grass field were put aside annually, as was a portion of the revenue earned each year by the Athletic Department. Now Athletic Director Dan Kalinsky is working with athletic teams and support organizations including the Bees Athletic Boosters and Band Boosters, private individuals and corporations to raise the remaining funds. A fundraising article including a thermometer of donations and information on how to donate  and the cost will be posted on the district's website next week.  This section will be maintained and updated on an on-going basis.
