In the midst of all of this, God’s desire is that we understand how efficient and productive we can become if we learn to simply rest in Him, surrender completely and allow the wind of the Spirit to carry us!

This month of March has been for me a time of returning to this total dependency on Him! My desire is to live each day “at the end of my strength”, so that His power may be perfected in my weakness!

Since it has been a while since I’ve written about all that has been happening, the news are overflowing! And so, in this letter I will share through pictures (and subtitles) some of the im-portant events of the past months!

SUKA NEWS / 01

Inhaminga, 14 de março de 2013

Dear friends,“It is only at the end of ourselves that we can

truly meet God!” - this was the Word I received when my physical and emotional strength was ending, after a very rushed beginning of year!

It is so easy and, many times, almost unno-ticeable the transition from total dependency on God to an attitude of independence, self-su-fficiency and production in our own strength!

It is only at the end of ourselves that we can

truly meet God!

SUKA NEWS / 02

The two months I spent in Brazil went by really fast! From different family reunions, to visiting chur-ches and having the privilege of participating in some very significant events that happened exactly while I was there! It wasn’t a very restful time, but it was worth the effort to meet special people and spend time with my family!

During 2012, four of my cousins got married and I could participate at least in two of the weddings! It was a great joy to celebrate with Eduardo and Eliana (1) and Harlindo and Eliza (2)!

My brother Esdras, who lives in the US, spent two weeks in Brazil with his family and we organized reunions with relatives from both sides of the family (3, 4)!

It was so good to spend some quality time with my nephew Joshua, my parents, my brothers and sisters in law (5)! I connected with brothers and sisters from churches in Brazil and around the world (visiting Brazil at that time)

and had a feel of what God is doing around the World!

Some precious people I met: Eric Mumford, from Father’s House in Uganda; Marcus Meier and Webb Venga from IHOP, Kansas City who are moving to Brazil to start a 24x7 House of Prayer (7)

I received training in writing at a Writer’s School my dad organized (7); participated in the 14th Youth Retreat Preparing Soldiers for the Last Battles” (8, 9); and shared in some churches about Missions and the work in Mozambique.

NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER IN BRAZIL

SUKA NEWS / 03

Going back to Mozambique we were a group of eight (10)! After much struggle with the Mozambican Consulate in Brazil to get visas, and much preparation, our bags were ready and our hearts, full of ex-pectation! With me were three new missionaries (Felipe and Victor as Bible School teachers and Paulo as missionary in training and practical help for Inhaminga) and four teachers who came to spend two weeks helping with the project Alfabetizando Moçambique (Literacy to Mozambique)! With so many people and so much planed, it is not a surprise that January and February flew away so quickly!

Praise God all our suitcases arrived well and, though the roads were terrible due to heavy rain in this season, we arrived safely at Inhaminga! We spent only two days catching up with the Inhaminga team and the kids at Casa Esperança (House of Hope) (11) and then left to Nacala. The training in Nacala was so profitable and life changing for the pre-school teachers, with such

little training and so much desire to learn more! (12)

While there we also visited Rassim and encouraged the church there in good timing (13)! Just after we were there, a group of witchdoctors visited the village, accusing some of the Christians of being witches, fining and even beating some of them! When we heard of that it was too late for us to go back there, but the Nacala team went and encouraged the church! Many remained faithful

and strong through the persecution! We praise God for that and we pray He will continue to strengthen them in their faith.

Considering I’ve been spending most of the my time at Inhaminga, I moved my things, leaving at Nacala (14) only the main furniture and kitchen utensils I don’t use at Inhaminga, since I share a house with Simona. It was good to spend some time with the Nacala friends before saying this goodbye (15, 16)! Good news are that this month an English couple rented the house for four months! An answer to prayer! Besides helping the ministry there, part of the rent is being saved up to help change

my car in the near future!

JANUARY AND FEBRUARY IN MOZAMBIQUE

Right now I’ve been busy with what’s my job description: coordinating the team! :)

Some times it doesn’t even seem like what I’m doing is useful, as it doesn’t show much... but when I see the team working together as a well oiled engine, people flowing in their gif-ting, with less struggle, communication flowing well and lives flourishing in their areas of work, I know my work is not in vain!

Some of my current challenges are: helping the teachers (specially the Mozambicans) to take the administrative and academic responsibility over the Bible School at Inhaminga; helping in the adaptation of the new team members; and cooperating with the Youth Ministry (both in the local youth group and in the national and regio-nal conferences we promote)!

SUKA NEWS / 04

Two Romanian guys - Ilie (17) and Eugene (18) - spent two months helping in construction and evangelism at Inhaminga, Nampula and Nacala! They were such a wonderful blessing to all of us! A Romanian girl - Adina (19) - also came to spend 20 days and loved the kids at Casa Esperança, breaking through the barrier of language and reaching directly into their hearts! Back to Inhaminga, the classes had re-started and the students were experiencing the beginning of all that God has in store for them. When I arrived, Spiritual Formation week was about to start! I was able to teach a few subjects: God’s Love, Baptism in Water and Holy Communion. What a wonderful privilege! Two very special moments of the week were the water baptism (20, 21, 22) and the in filling of the Holy Spirit (23)!

And so, March has been a month to recover, turn my heart back to focus while planning for the intense months ahead of us!

In the midst of all this I count on your prayers! I know that in myself there is no strength to do God’s work, but I also know that He who called me is faithful and able to finish everything He promised and planed! Thank you for walking with me, for crying out for the Lord’s return and cooperating with Him so that His Bride may be ready soon!

At His service, With much joy,
