As every year since 2008, Industrial Design-DuocUC celebrates its Milestone of the Year Activity, commemorating WIDD (World Industrial Design Day WIDD) as defined by the ICSID (International Council of Societies of Industrial Design).
The activities involve all levels of degrees within the Industrial Design community and unites them around a common theme in order to discuss and reflect through talks, concreate actions and social activities.
WIDD Duoc UC
This year 2012, in conjunction with the Industrial Design student delegates and degree professors, activities have been carried out that demonstrate the values of the Industrial Designers DuocUC, with a Commitment to Teamwork, Motivation and potential skills work on a real-scale, by putting forth ideas, object construction and functionality. For this we have proposed as a challenge the construction of the real-scale “Animaris Rhinnoceros” by Theo Jansen.

Pieces to assemble LEGSThe main architecture is composted of 6 pairs of legs whose geometry is the following.The constructions plans will be given to first and second year students. The dimensioning of the pieces will be carried out beginning on Monday, the 24th of June by the first year students.
AXIS – CHASSIS CENTRALThe axis over which the legs are mounted, consists of a major complex piece and the structure of the axis will be proportioned en the plans. The dimensioning of the pieces will be carried out beginning on Monday, the 24th of June by the first year students.
